As we should all know by now, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (who recently applied for a marriage license here in SoCal) are planning to be married this Saturday April 25 in a ceremony in Pasadena, CA and People magazine is reporting that the couple are also planning a rehearsal dinner for the night before. Speidi were a no-show at the PaleyFest panel of The Hills which was held in Hollywood, CA last night because they were reportedly too bizzy tending to this weekend’s big event. But at least one publication isn’t buying that this latest wedding will be the real deal. In Touch Weekly is reporting that this weekend’s Speidi wedding will be another fake one merely to drum up ratings for The Hills:

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt betrayed their fans when they staged a fake wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in November. Now they’re doing it again — but this time, they’re filming the new phony ceremony for the series finale of The Hills. “It’s all set up by the producers of MTV to get people to watch,” says a source. “It’s just a plot line. They’re not really getting married, of course.” The over-the-top wedding will take place on April 25 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Calif., on a closed set with the entire Hills cast in attendance. Though Heidi and Spencer’s nemesis Lauren Conrad will not be in the wedding, In Touch can confirm exclusively that she will make an appearance. “They want Lauren to do something dramatic,” the source says.

But, the couple contends otherwise. Here are pics of Speidi doing whatever it is that they do together in Santa Monica, CA yesterday and some info about their planned rehearsal dinner and nuptials:

The night before the ceremony, which will take place on Saturday afternoon at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Calif., the couple will hold a rehearsal dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s Beverly Hills hotspot, Cut, a source tells PEOPLE. It’s a far cry from their Mexican wedding last November, which Pratt described at the time as having “margaritas, sunsets and beautiful settings” – but no friends or family. This time around, people close to the couple will be flying in to attend the festivities, say sources.

Altho the couple have cried wolf before, I tend to believe that they are serious about getting married this time around. I think they know that another fake wedding would prolly not go over well with the fans that they still have. It also makes sense that they would reserve their real wedding for the series finale of the show that made them stars. That way, they would steal the thunder and the show would end on their note and not anyone else’s. Speidi absolutely belong together … they are the perfect compliment to one another. I really think it’s gonna happen this weekend, y’all … heaven help us all.

Lindsay Lohan was spotted doing a bit of shopping with her little sister Ali Lohan on Melrose Ave. yesterday afternoon and I couldn’t help but notice how much thinner she looks in the pics. I love Lindsay very much so these pics are a bit troubling … they seem all too familiar from the time when she was rail-thin, with bones protruding a few years ago. Since her Skeletwins^TM days, Lindsay had recouped her curves and looked to be back to a relatively healthy weight. These days, tho, those curves seem to be no more:

The Mean Girls actress looked skinnier than ever as she hit LA’s Melrose Avenue for an afternoon of retail therapy with her younger sister Ali. Her cream halter-neck sundress hung off her rail-thin frame with the cut-away back revealing her protruding ribcage and sinewy arms. The 22-year-old looked on edge during the outing, clutching a can of Coca-Cola and biting her finger nails as she stopped to try on reading glasses at an optometrist. Lindsay’s weight has yo-yoed dramatically over the years from buxom to skeletal.

Nothing about this is a laughing or joking matter. It absolutely pains me to see Lindsay look frail. Whether or not you think she is a talented actress, she absolutely has a je ne sais quoi? about her that makes her an endearing person. It is very sad that she no longer looks happy now that she is separated from Samantha Ronson (and let’s be honest, she looked very happy with Sam when they were together) but it’s even sadder to think that she might not be taking her health into consideration. Believe me, I realize that my assertions are based on huge assumptions but there can be no denying that she looks much thinner. I hope, for her sake, that she realizes that she looks so much better when she’s healthy and curvy.

Lauren LC Conrad and her Hills cohorts Lauren Lo Bosworth, Audrina Patridge and break-out spin-off star Whitney Port (of The City) were all on hand at the ArcLight Cinema in Hollywood, CA last night to participate in the PaleyFest ‘09 event for The Paley Center for Media. Sadly, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were not in attendance even tho they were scheduled to appear. It is being reported that Speidi pulled out at the last minute to tend to their upcoming wedding plans. Interestingly enough, LC confirmed at the PaleyFest panel that Spencer admits that he is responsible for spreading the false rumor about her alleged sex tape with ex-boyfriend Jason Whaler … mebbe that revelation also had something to do with Speidi’s absence? In any event, here are a few photos of the Hills girls on the red carpet last night and some deets about the event itself:

Attending The Hills panel at PaleyFest without being a regular viewer of The Hills is like going to a Friday night party at some condo off Sunset where everybody knows each other and nobody knows you. So you stand there amid an attractive crowd and nod and smile and pretend like you get their jokes. Helpfully, before the panel the producers screen a 20-minute compilation of clips from The Hills that summarizes the first five seasons of the hit MTV docu-soap. The clips are either perfectly edited, or the series has incredible amounts of filler because when the lights come up you feel like you just sat through every single episode and understand everything that’s happened: A blonde girl named Lauren moved to Hollywood and fell in love with another blonde girl named Heidi. They broke up when Heidi fell in love with a blond guy named Spencer. Each season the girls wore more obvious makeup and Lauren cries a lot. Oh, and at one point Lauren went to France. But when the cast comes onstage there’s a glaring omission. Heidi, who was billed to be onstage with Lauren, is not here. This is a considerable letdown, even for those of us who just started watching The Hills roughly 20 minutes ago. We’re told she’s planning for a “big event” this weekend, which is rumored to be her wedding to Spencer. Needless to say, The Hills cameras will be there, and three cast members say they are invited, none of which are Lauren. The biggest news bits from the Q&A:

– On the infamous sex tape rumor, Lauren says – spoiler alert — Spencer finally confesses to the crime in a future episode. “We actually have it on tape,” she said. “He takes responsibility and apologizes for it.”

– Lauren originally thought when switching from Laguna Beach to The Hills: “This will be a whole new group of friends I wouldn’t fight with,” which seems to not quite understand the type of show she’s on.

– Producer Liz Gateley, when asked about whether the cast is shallow, reveals, “These folks do talk about a lot of intelligent things — like global warming — we just don’t show that on the show.” The idea that Lauren and Audrina have been secretly having off-camera debates about carbon emissions is fascinating.

– Lauren said she and Heidi can now “be in the same room.” The Rolling Stone photo shoot last year was “a big deal” in terms of mending their relationship despite the girls having dividers between them while getting their hair and makeup done.

– Producers were asked if the show will continue beyond the fifth season and gave the usual “we’re in talks … seeing if there are more stories to tell,” etc., etc., answer.

HMMM … I don’t think there was anyone who seriously doubted that it was Spencer who came up with the sex tape rumor, I mean … c’mon. The fact that he finally admits it on camera should come as no shock to anyone. Since this is the “last” season of The Hills, they have to pull out all the stops … the sex tape thing is one big loose end that was never tied up and the Speidi wedding is another. It really sounds like LC is done with the show … which means that any attempts to keep it going without her are going to be really bad, I think. Laguna Beach didn’t really fare so well once she left the show … and when they moved the drama to Newport Beach (introducing a new cast of characters) the whole thing went into the toilet. If MTV is smart, they’ll just let the show end on a relative high note.

But that doesn’t mean they may not try to launch a new show around Heidi and Spencer. It remains to be seen if those two can carry a show all by themselves but, I’m telling you, they’re gonna try. First, tho, they’ve got a little wedding to get thru … let’s see if they can pull that off before they think about launching their own TV show. Yesterday we learned from Joel Madden himself that he decided to change up his look a wee bit and ended up going blonde. Yesterday afternoon, Joel met up with his twin brother Benji Madden and the pair took the new blonde ‘do out for some coffee at The Coffee Bean on Melrose Ave … here are a couple of pics:

I dunno, I think I like the blonde on him … it’s a great Summer look and Joel rocks it right. I think I’m more taken with Benji’s newish look … those exposed arms work quite well for the lad. As we saw previously, it’s evident that Benji has been workin’ hard on his physique so it makes sense that he would want to show off a little bit. I wouldn’t be surprised if Benj cut off all of the sleeves on all of his t-shirts :) In any event, it looks like these are the Summer looks for the Madden twins … do we like?

Michael Jackson, who went to court to halt a planned auction of some of his old (and entirely weird) possessions, was spotted doing a bit of shopping in Beverly Hills, CA yesterday … looking to acquire more (entirely weird) possessions to add to his collection. With temps reaching into the high 90’s, Jacko decided that it would be best for him to venture out in public covered from head to toe with scarves and masks cuz, well, he’s Michael Jackson, ya’ll:

Los Angeles may be going through a major heatwave but it seems that no amount of sunshine can come between Michael Jackson and his bizarre disguises. The 50-year-old seemed unaffected by the soaring temperatures – which have reached 38 degrees celsius – as he stepped out in Beverly Hills wearing a black hat, with a scarf, surgical mask and a multi-coloured hoodie. He completed the outfit with black trousers with pink trimmings. The singer was surrounded by security as he shopped for jewellery and antiques during a break from rehearsals for his upcoming tour. Jackson has been keeping a reasonably low profile in recent months as he prepares for the 50-night comeback tour at London’s 02 arena this summer. He has not performed on stage since 2006, when he appeared at the World Music Awards. But his sell-out This Is It tour at the O2 begins on July 8 and will run until February 24 next year. Tickets have been offered on sites such as ebay for up to $16,000 a pair. Fans will be treated to all of Jacko’s greatest hits, including a possible Jackson 5 medley. The setlist for his concerts includes Thriller, Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, Man in the Mirror and Beat It. “He’s toying with the idea of doing a Jackson 5 medley as well, and he’ll open with a four minute long intro to Billie Jean,” a source is quoted as telling the Daily Mirror. Jackson last went on the road in 1996 and 1997 with the HIStory World Tour and he last performed the Moonwalk in September 2001 at a one-off concert celebrating his 30th anniversary as a performer.

I’m not sure what goes into the thought process that inspires this very strange man to go, Hey, I think today I’m going to go out and buy myself a new set of gilded vases to add to my immense collection of opulent furnishings but I suppose when you are able to sell 1 million concert tickets in 4 days time, you can buy whatever the hell you like. Truth be told, these new photos do not fill me with hope that he is going to be able to pull off this comeback concert stint … not one bit. David and I are planning to attend one of his September concerts and I’m just hoping (for David’s sake) that Jacko is able to keep it together long enough to perform on our appointed night. I am encouraged to know that he’s rehearsing … I think more rehearsing and less antiquing is prolly a better idea but … well, he is Michael Jackson after all.

USA Today has our first look at the young men cast to portray the werewolf pack that is featured in the upcoming sequel film The Twilight Saga: New Moon … as you can see from this newly released promo photo, the guys are in full costume … which basically means that they are half-nekkid. We’ve seen the guys here on the blog before but never in such a revealing way … behold:

Step aside, aloof vampires with all your undead issues. The wolf pack is ready to howl. Unlike cold-blooded neck biters, these poster guys for animal magnetism are hot. So hot that their temperature runs a steady 108 degrees, as anyone who has read Stephenie Meyer’s series of gothic romances knows. That gives them a great excuse to doff their shirts on-screen and expose the physiques they’ve been pumping up for playing werewolves in The Twilight Saga:New Moon, the sequel to last year’s supernatural sensation, due Nov. 20. Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off. Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks. “It’s not pleasant for the actors,” says director Chris Weitz. “But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, ‘OK, off with the robes.’ “

If Twilight is all about the vampires, then New Moon is all about the werewolves. But it saddens me that this new photo does not feature the top dog, as it were, Jacob Black (played by Taylor Lautner). I suspect the movie producers are going to keep his reveal underwraps for a while so that they can feature him all by himself. I know there is a lot of vamp love among Twilighters but I think the wolf boys deserve some attention of their own. After all, I don’t recall that any of the Cullen men get half-nekkid in any of the books … isn’t that reason enough to give a little love to Team Wolves?

Today is Earth Day, a time for the world to pause and reflect on the impact that we as a people have on our planet and hopefully work towards making things better … not only for today but from here on out. Even tho you may have never thought about your “carbon footprint” before or you’ve never been serious about thinking “green”, it’s never too late to start:
