Is Sarah Michelle Gellar Ready To Make A ‘Buffy’ Movie

Please gods let this be true!!
Sunday, April 5th, 2009

OMG! This news is too good to be true … so I’m trying to hold off on the embarrassing celebrating but … just in case this report does turn out to be true, THIS WILL BE THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! According to Showbiz Spy, Sarah Michelle Gellar is “in talks” to sign on for a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie:

Sarah Michelle Gellar is reportedly in talks to reprise her role as Buffy the Vampire Slayer – for a movie. The 31-year-old actress ended her role as Buffy in 2003 after a seven-year run. Now the feisty character could be making a return on the big screen. An insider says, “There is an idea for a script and to pick the story up with Buffy older and maybe even a mother. Michelle is busy with movie projects at the moment but she is excited about the idea. Buffy still has a huge fan-base so this is a movie that already has an audience. Michelle is a shrewd businesswoman so the chances are this will happen at some point.”

As much as I really wish this were true … the info provided by this “insider” seems really weak. SMG has very famously balked at all attempts to get her reprise her Buffy role on the big screen. I suppose it’s possible that she has changed her mind in recent months but … my heart just can’t believe it just yet. For now, I’ll cross my fingers and hope for the best … but I fear we’ll be hearing soon that this rumor is just that … an erroneous rumor.

Not Dead Yet

The TV Guide
Sunday, April 5th, 2009

OY! Thankfully I seem to have survived my hellacious hang-over yesterday from my raucous night before. I’m not kidding, the whole day was a total wash. I pretty much ached all day long then pained all night long. My day was spent on the couch watching movies and trying to keep from dying. Not a pretty sight, believe me. As a result, I ain’t got nothin’ to share. The original plan to go to Disneyland with Darion and Kirsten got axed and then I had to bail on the rescheduled plan to do dinner and a movie. Darion was planning to cook! UGH! I’m never drinking again. Er, or I should say I’m never drinking to excess again.

I’m gonna see about salvaging my weekend today … David – the love my life – left me with a lot of mess to clean up around the house so I’ll have to get to that at some point but hopefully I’ll get out of the house today. Wish me luck.

Hot Dude Of The Week: Jake

Weekend Hotness
Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Wee!! It’s time again for our weekly excuse to gawk at guys in their undies … it’s time for the Hot Dude of the Week, y’all!! This week we’ve got a familiar face to check out but I have a sneaking suspicion that other things about the lad may have distracted you from remembering his face the first time around so … let’s have another look. Say hello to Jake:

Click HERE to see more pictures of Jake
Who doesn’t love having beefcake for Sunday brunch? Week after week I happily salute the Hot Dudes who are willing to put in the time and hard work to sculpt their bodies to near perfection so that we can partake in their physical fitness … it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it. By the look of Jake’s rippling muscles, he clearly spends quite a bit of time in the gym so it only makes sense that we enjoy all of his hard work. It’s the least we can do. As long as Hot Dudes like Jake continue to flaunt their hot bods in as little clothing as possible, I’m willing to stand up and take notice. Again, it’s a tough job. Enjoy!!

Balthazar Getty Spends Time With Someone Other Than Sienna Miller

Father's Day
Sunday, April 5th, 2009

In recent weeks and months we’ve seen Balthazar Getty spend a lot of alone lurve time with his mistress Sienna Miller but today we get to check out new pics of Balthazar with someone other than Miss Miller. Here are a few photos of Balthazar with his eldest son Cassius Paul enjoying some father/son quality time together at a park here in SoCal earlier this week:

I may give the guy grief for so openly flaunting his extramarital affair with Sienna Miller but I have to admit that these photos with his son are really cute. The two guys really seem to be having a great time together … and it’s a very nice sight to see. Actually, come to think of it, it’s been quite some time since Sienazar have been photographed together. The couple were last seen back in February sharing a passionate kiss in front of LAX Airport as they bid adieu to one another … but since then, Balthazar has been spending most of his time with his family. HMMM. Could the passionate affair be dunzo? Is Balthazar be back with his wife and kids? If these photos are any indication, then mebbe he is giving his family life another serious go. It looks like his son is very happy to have him back … which is a very good thing indeed.

Hugh Hefner Celebrates His 83rd Birthday Early

Still goin' strong
Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Hugh Hefner won’t actually turn 83 until this coming Thursday April 9 but the Playboy mogul got the party started early at the Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV yesterday. At about 2:30pm, Hef and his Playmate girlfriends (both former and current) enjoyed a pool party at the Palms before taking the shindig inside for a special birthday dinner at N9ne Steakhouse. I understand the fête was filmed for airing in the upcoming new season of E!’s Girls Next Door which will focus on Hefner’s girlfriend changing of the guard (out with the old, in with the new). Here are a few pics of Hef and a couple of his ladies and some info from yesterday’s fun:

Hugh Hefner kicked off a day-long birthday party today at the Palms. The Playboy magnate will turn 83 years old on Thursday. The festivities got underway today at 2:30 p.m. as the resilient playboy made his way to the Palms Place pool. Flanked by girlfriends Crystal Harris, 22, and 19-year-old twin sisters Karissa and Kristina Shannon, Hefner was cheerful, dressed in a colorful playboy shirt, white pants, a black sport coat and his signature captain’s hat. Press and camera crews for “The Girls Next Door” greeted the birthday boy’s entourage as the group settled into seats on the patio near the pool. Moments later, the original “Girls Next Door,” Bridget Marquardt, Kendra Wilkinson, and Hef’s former No. 1 squeeze, Holly Madison, came by to say hello. “I’ve good company. Young people keep me young,” Hefner said. “I get older but they stay the same.” Marquardt, Wilkinson, and Madison lived with the Playboy icon in his iconic estate, the Playboy Mansion, for over five years before going their separate ways last year. Now 35, 23, and 29, respectively, the trio has since been replaced by a younger trifecta of blondes. Marquardt and Wilkinson admitted it was all pretty surreal. “That used to be us!” Wilkinson remarked, motioning toward Hefner’s three new lady friends. “You see it from the outside and it’s like, oh my God,” she laughed. Marquardt agreed. “It’s such a unique situation,” she said. Yet there was no animosity in the afternoon air as girlfriends past and present joined Hefner to pose for photographers. Madison, who finished a month-long stint on “Dancing With the Stars” this week, said photographers are an essential part of any Playboy birthday celebration. She had her fair share of party planning experience during her tenure as Hef’s No. 1. She said that three things are required for any Hef-related celebration: “Press, Jack and Coke and beautiful women.” There was no shortage of any of those today at the Palms. Hefner sipped glasses of Jack Daniels and Coke throughout the afternoon, as he fielded questions from a seemingly endless stream of media. Meanwhile, a smattering of stunning ladies lingered and mingled nearby. Former Playboy models Jennifer Pershing, Deanna Brooks, Tiffany Fallon, Hiromi Oshima, Kelly Carrington, Janine Habeck, Alison Waite, Ida Ljundqvist, Stacy Fuson and Patrice Hollis were among those seen enjoying the afternoon sun. Wilkinson and Marquardt’s significant others, Hank Baskett and Nicholas Carpenter, also attended the party. “We’re all great friends,” Wilkinson said. Her fiancé agreed and said it’s not awkward at all. “It’s been very nice getting to know Hef. He’s just down to earth, family-oriented kind of guy,” the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver said. Baskett said he and Hefner have been friends since the minute they realized they shared not just a woman, but a favorite comic, too. “It was one of those male bonding moments,” Baskett said. “We ‘re both big Flash Gordon fans … It was like a match made in heaven.” Wilkinson said she views the collection of former and current boyfriends and girlfriends as “friends and family.” In fact, Wilkinson and Baskett will tie the knot at the Playboy Mansion on June 27 and Hefner had agreed to walk Wilkinson down the aisle. She said Saturday’s festivities were “kind of like a birthday party-slash-anniversary” for her and Hefner. The two met at Hefner’s 78th birthday party five years ago, and Wilkinson said she knew exactly how to mark the occasion: with a card. “That’s all he likes,” she said. “He likes cards with nice things written in them, and he likes pictures in frames, and he likes candy.” She said her card carried a simple but heartfelt message. “I wrote for both of us,” Wilkinson said as she and Baskett linked arms. “I said, ‘Thanks for being such a good friend to Hank and I, we love you so much and, PS, I miss you’.” This afternoon’s pool party was just the beginning of Hefner’s birthday extravaganza. After catching some midday sun, he and his guests retreated indoors to prepare for the night ahead. Before they left, however, the birthday boy shared his plans. “Once we finish the pool party we’ll be having dinner at N9NE, the restaurant,” he said. After that, the iconic playboy said they will move the party upstairs, where the group will “spend some time at the Playboy Club and Moon.” And how does Hugh Hefner end his night of birthday celebrations in Las Vegas? Hefner said he plans to do it with “a little private gathering in my suite.”

What a life … hanging around all of those young ladies must be good for Hef’s health cuz that’s really all he seems to do and he’s still kickin’ it at the ripe ol’ age of 83. Tho, he’s not quite 83 yet so I guess he’s still partying with the stamina of an 82 year old. Amazing. It’s great to see Hef still livin’ so large. The fact that he can stay friends with his ex-girlfriend while ushering in a new contingent of young’ns to take their place says a lot about the man … make of that what you will ;) Happy Early Birthday, Hef! Let’s hope the man doesn’t party too too much so that he actually makes it to his big day this coming Thursday.

Meet The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Class Of 2009

Run DMC, Metallica, Jeff Beck and more are inducted
Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Cleveland, OH — the official birthplace of Rock and Roll music — was hoppin’ last night as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted the class of 2009 into its hallowed institution. Grandfathers of rap Run-DMC, heavy metal forebears Metallica, guitarist Jeff Beck, R&B group Anthony & The Imperials, rockabilly queen Wanda Jackson and doo-wop singer Bobby Womack were all inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame last night in an event that celebrated these musicians’ talents and contributions to the genre of Rock and Roll. Here are a few photos from the backstage press room and some deets about the event itself:

One of the most diverse classes in the history of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which included Metallica, Run-DMC, 1950s rockabilly queen Wanda Jackson and guitar legend Jeff Beck, were inducted into the Hall at a wild four-hour show Saturday night, April 4th. Held at Cleveland’s historic Public Hall, the event was open to the general public for the first time in the 23-year history of the Hall of Fame. The result was a show that felt more like an actual rock concert than any previous ceremony. One of the most anticipated speeches of the night came from Eminem, who inducted Run-DMC and has rarely been seen in public in the past four years. Dressed like the fourth member of the group in a leather jacket and a fedora, an emotional Em spoke passionately about their influence on him and the world at large.

“I still remember being in 9th grade when Tougher Than Leather came out,” he said. “I skipped school to go get it on cassetete. As soon as I heard ‘Run’s House,’ it was pretty much a rap for me. Marshall Mathers became Eminem.” The evening began with 1950s R&B group Little Anthony & The Imperials performing their hits “Tears On My Pillow” and “Hurts So Bad” backed by Paul Schaffer and the CBS Orchestra. Lead singer is Anthony Gourdine is 69, but he still hit the high notes like he did 50 years ago. Longtime friend Smokey Robinson inducted the group, calling it a “long overdue event.” Gourdine seemed to agree. As he stepped up to the mike he beamed and said, “Amazing grace, how sweet it is!” Wanda Jackson was inducted by Roseanne Cash, whose father Johnny toured in the 1950s with Jackson, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis. “I’m not standing here alone,” Jackson said. “I want to thank Elvis Presley for the push and encouragement I needed.” Jackson is said to have briefly dated Presley in the 1950s. Later in the evening Presley’s original bassist Bill Black and drummer D.J. Fontana were inducted by E Street Band members Garry Tallent and Max Weinberg. “This is the greatest honor of my life,” said Fontana. Black died in 1965, so his children accepted on his behalf. Cleveland native Bobby Womack, who hadn’t been in his hometown in over twenty years, was inducted by his longtime Friend Ron Wood. Womack brought much of the audience to their feet with a medley of “Across 110th Street” and “It’s All Over Now” (famously covered by the Stones in 1964), featuring Wood on guitar. “He brings me to tears,” says Wood. “That voice has always killed me.” Soon afterwards the evening turned into an unbelievable guitar orgy. It began when Jimmy Page inducted his former Yardbirds bandmate Jeff Beck. “Jeff’s guitar style is totally unorthodox,” said Page. “He just gets better and better.” After a hilarious speech by Beck, where he flicked off everybody who in his life that ever stood in his way, Page and Beck played a blazing version of “Beck Bolero” — the 1967 Beck solo track originally recorded with Page, John Paul Jones and Keith Moon. “Ladies and gentlemen, a big chunk of Led Zeppelin right here,” Page said in the middle of the tune before Page played a segment of “Immigrant Song.” The first few notes caused the capacity crowd to go into absolute hysterics. If that wasn’t enough, Metallica came onstage next. Flea — sporting blue hair — gave the intro. “Metallica is fucking rad and their music is bitching,” he said, causing James Hetfield to cover his young daughters ears. “They did more to bring people together than any other peace-and-love band ever did,” he added. This was literally true at the ceremony: Metallica flew in 150 of their friends and family for the event. Former bassist Jason Newstead, who hasn’t performed with the group since he quit in 2001, was around for the weekend’s festivities. If there’s any bad blood, he certainly hid it well. “I’ve been levitating all weekend,” he said during his speech. He later performed with the band and his replacement, Robert Trujillo, on “Master of Puppets” and “Enter Sandman.” Both musicians played bass and often shared a mic on back-up vocals. Earlier, original bassist Cliff Burton’s father gave a moving speech about his son, who died on a tour bus accident in 1986. The traditional all-star jam was a two-parter. First was “Jailhouse Rock,” featuring Fontana, Beck, Little Anthony & The Imperials, Bobby Womack, Wanda Jackson and pianist Spooner Oldhman — who was inducted earlier in the night as a sideman. The night wrapped up with a guitar jam that will surely go down in history. Metallica played the 1965 Yardbirds staple “Train Kept A-Rollin” with Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Flea and surprise guest Ron Wood. Yes, that’s six guitarists and three bassists. Unlike previous Rock Hall jams, this was one rehearsed the previous night and didn’t sound the least bit sloppy. In previous years such an event would only be seen in person by a handful of people at a hotel ballroom. Saturday night, thousands of Clevelanders got to see it, bringing together the legends and the people whose lives they have truly touched.

As you may recall, last year the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was pretty much all about Madonna. This year it sounds like the ceremony was more like it was intended to be. I am always impressed with the diverse acts that annually get recognized and honored for their amazing contributions to Rock and Roll. Each induction ceremony is a music lesson for me because there are honorees like Wanda Jackson who I’m not familiar with but will now seek out because of this honor. This year’s class is a good one, Run-DMC are truly pioneers not only in rap but in rap/rock fusion as well (I am very proud that my Detroit homie Eminem was chosen to have the honor of inducting them this year). They most assuredly deserve this honor. Much congrats goes out to all of this year’s inductees. I can’t wait to find out who’ll get into the Rock Hall next year.
