Red Is Not A Good Color For Kevin Federline

Kevin Federline, who appears to be getting bigger by the second, stepped out with his girlfriend Victoria Prince to pick up some movies at their friendly neighborhood Blockbuster Video. Opting for an XL red t-shirt, K-Fed was lookin’ large and in charge …

… and way too much like the Kool-Aid man. Clearly, red is not his best color.

The TV Guide
I

Blaurgh. Last night was a lot of fun and I’m still paying for it this afternoon. I swear, I’m never drinking again … ever. But fun was had last night … for sure. After I dropped off David at the airport, I met up with my friend Johnny for a quick cameo at a TMZ party at Red Rocks on Sunset. I really love the TMZ crew … they are the coolest bunch of people and it’s always a good time seeing them out in social situations. Because they all work so hard (pretty much 24/7), it’s rare to see them socially but when there is a TMZ party, it’s deffo a party. After spending some time there, Johnny and I made our way to Bar Marmont at the Chateau Marmont to attend the I Heart Ronson party to celebrate Charlotte Ronson‘s new clothing line for JC Penney. Mark Ronson and the Version Players provided the live music and Samatha Ronson provided the party tunes after … it was a really fun event:

I managed to avoid running into Pug Dilton but I did get to chat with Nicole Richie for a bit. Her bump is getting so big! It looks much bigger in person than it does in pictures. Mark Ronson killed it on stage and Johnny and I had a blast.

But our night was over yet … after the Ronson event, we made our way to Fubar to get our drink on … and boy, did we ever. I haven’t gotten that loaded in a very long time … I mean, it was fun at the time but UGH I’m so paying for it now. I had plans to go with Darion and Kirsten to Disneyland today but, alas, the trip got scrapped cuz of my near deathness. We’re gonna try and do dinner and a movie later. Blah, we’ll see.

Welcome to paradise
Amy Winehouse Returns To St. Lucia

After enjoying a very relaxing 2-month holiday on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia earlier this year, Amy Winehouse has returned to the island she called her temporary home to begin work on her third album. Amy was scheduled to perform at the Coachella Music Festival here in SoCal in a few weeks but because she is currently on trial for assault in the UK, her visa was rejected and she has been barred from entering the US until her legal woes are finalized. As a result, Amy has decided to set her sights back on the tropical island she loves so dearly to regroup … here are a few pics:

Amy Winehouse has reportedly jetted back to the Caribbean Island of St Lucia to focus on writing her highly anticipated 3rd album. The news comes after reports that her record company had rejected songs for her Back To Black follow up for being too ‘reggae-influenced’. It’s thought she will spend the next few weeks in St Lucia working with Salaam Remi, who produced her first album Frank. The Rehab singer has clearly grown fond of the paradise island after spending a well publicised 2 months over there earlier this year. It is also being reported that she is looking to buy a home on the island and will be viewing a property called Firefly Villa which boasts 2.4 acres of private land.

The woman may still be a hot mess but at least she’s much less of a hot mess than she used to be … thanks to the healing powers of paradise island. I really think Amy should just live there permanently … her life is much less frantic and she appears to thrive there. When she’s in London, it seems like the temptations that surround her are too great to ignore and I fear the poor woman will succumb to the tragic life she used to live before she cleaned herself up in St. Lucia. Amy‘s return to the tropics is prolly the best thing for her right now. Stay put, Amy. You have a much better chance of surviving your 20s if you chill out for a while.

Surf's up
Gisele Bündchen & Tom Brady Prepare For Wedding #2

After quietly wedding in late February, newlyweds Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady have made their way down to Costa Rica in order to throw wedding #2 in the presence of her family and friends in Central America. Today is the day that the couple says I Do again but yesterday was the day for the pre-wedding festivities. Here are a couple pics of the happy couple along with Tom‘s young son John Edward Thomas with Bridget Moynahan (who Giesle likes to think is her own son) enjoying a day at the beach before their re-nuptials:

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen continued their low-key Costa Rican weekend wedding celebration by hitting the beach and enjoying a barbecue before their big day Saturday. The couple – along with Brady’s son John (with former girlfriend Bridget Moynahan) and his parents – hit the beach Friday around noon, where the New England Patriots quarterback chased his 1 ½-year-old son around the surf. While Brady, 31, and Bündchen, 28, relaxed by the beach, most of their wedding guests spent the afternoon lounging poolside at their hotels. To help their guests get around the village and beaches of Malpais, the couple rented seven quadcars – small four-wheeled motorcycle-like vehicles, a source tells PEOPLE. Later, friends and family gathered at the couple’s home in the area for an evening barbecue. The night before, the Brady-Bündchen wedding party enjoyed a laidback rehearsal dinner at the Milarepa beachfront hotel.

While the couple are preparing for their second wedding, I’m sure the affair will be treated as Gisele‘s first wedding to Tom. From the sound of it, today’s ceremony promises to be a huge celebration of the couple’s love for one another. I’m actually surprised that the pair decided to marry here in SoCal first in such a quiet ceremony when they could’ve just as easily waited to do it big the first time in South America. In any event, much congrats goes out to the happy couple again on their second ceremony. Mebbe it’s about time they got started work on a little sister or brother for Tom‘s son John … so that Gisele can give Bridget Moynahan back her baby.

The jet-setting never stops
Rihanna Returns Home To Barbados

After a brief visit to Hawaii and then a quick cameo in NYC, Rihanna made her way home to Barbados yesterday in order to attend her grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Speaking with US Weekly, Rihanna‘s father Ronald Felty revealed that his daughter is “back to herself” these days which is really great to hear considering everything she’s been thru these past few weeks. Here are a couple pics of Ri Ri making her arrival in Barbados yesterday:

Rihanna’s jet-setting continued this week. After hitting Hawaii and New York City in the same week, the singer, 21, returned home to her native Barbados on Friday. She is helping her grandparents celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. “Yeah [she’s back],” her father Ronald Fenty told Usmagazine.com Friday in a telephone interview. “She just got in a couple hours ago. I will see her tomorrow. He says they’ll “probably do lunch” during her weekend trip home. “Of course, I’m happy to have her home. Things are good with her,” Fenty told Us. “She is doing really, really well. She’s back to herself again.” It remains to be seen whether Rihanna will attend Chris Brown’s arraignment Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The singer, 19, is expected to enter a plea to two felony counts of assault and making criminal threats after allegedly beating Rihanna Feb. 8 in L.A. Earlier this week, Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra dismissed reports that she is not cooperating with prosecutors. “She will do everything that the law requires her to do,” Etra told Us. “Nothing has changed.”

While I’m sure that Rihanna plans to “do everything that the law requires her to do”, my guess is that she will do so minimally. It pains me to think this whole Chris Brown thing may get swept under the rug when everything’s all said and done but, in the end, if that’s the way she wants it then that’s the way it may turn out. It’s really good seeing Rihanna looking so well and I’m glad to know she’s spending a lot of time with her family. Will she be back in SoCal to stand by Brown when he goes back to court? We shall soon see.

Reportedly plans to party her blues away
Madonna Extends Her Stay In Malawi

Just because the court in Malawi has denied her bid to adopt her second child from their country doesn’t mean that Madonna has any plans to leave just yet. Just hours after Madonna‘s proposed adoption of 3 year old Chifundo Mercy James was denied, Madonna paid a visit to the village of Mugulula on behalf of her charity Raising Malawi, clearly undaunted that her attempt to adopt was foiled. Additionally, it is being reported that Maddy is planning a big party in Malawi to, presumably, help her get over her denied adoption bid. Here are a few photos of Madge in Mugulula yesterday, some deets on Maddona‘s court ruling (and how the ruling judge almost approved her case) and the info we have on her party plans:

A judge who barred Madonna’s second adoption from Malawi on Friday said she had “a gripping temptation” to approve the adoption, but decided doing so would open doors to child trafficking, court records show. The American pop star had filed a petition to adopt a girl, Chifundo James, 3. The rejection was based on a residency requirement and the judge’s belief that the child was in good hands at an orphanage. “There is a gripping temptation to throw caution to the wind and grant an adoption in the hope that there will be a difference in the life of even just one child,” Justice E.J. Chombo wrote in a ruling. “But removing the very safeguard that is supposed to protect our children … could actually facilitate trafficking of children by some unscrupulous individuals.” Video Watch why court refused adoption bid » Chombo was referring to a residency requirement in Malawi law that requires people to live in the country for some time before adopting. If Madonna was granted the adoption without established residency, critics argue it could open the door for others to adopt children and leave the country. “Anyone could come to Malawi and quickly arrange for an adoption that might have grave consequences on the very children that the law seeks to protect,” the judge wrote. Court papers provided to CNN also revealed that the judge considered the petition different from that of David Banda, whom Madonna adopted from Malawi in 2006. David “was to be returned to his biological father within a period of six months from the time that Mchinji Orphanage had admitted him,” Chombo wrote. “This is the same father that had desperately appealed for help after the death of his wife because of his incapacity to look after David and the unwillingness of wife’s family to care for the child.” In the case of Chifundo, the orphanage taking care of her was able and willing, according to Chombo, who did not handle the first adoption. Court records show her 14-year-old mother died days after her birth. The ruling followed weeks of criticism by human rights activists, who accused the mother of three of using her fame to circumvent a residency law for foreigners adopting in the country. Save the Children UK had also urged Madonna to let the child be raised by her relatives in her home community. The denial was applauded by a coalition of local nonprofits. “Inter-country adoption is not the best way of providing protection to children … supporting children from outside our country only helps five of the 1.5 million orphans we have,” said Mavuto Bamusi, the national coordinator of Malawi Human Rights Consultative Committee. Malawi government officials said Thursday that they supported Madonna’s second adoption … Madonna’s lawyer has filed a notice to appeal the ruling with the Supreme Court, according to Ken Manda, high court registrar.

It’s unclear if Madonna plans to stay in Malawi for the duration of her appeal as it is also unclear just how long that appeal will take but Maddy has yet to leave the country so it’s possible she may stay there for a while. She’s even planning a big party in Malawi — possibly to try and offset her disappointment:

Madonna is apparently throwing a party in Malawi in a bid to swallow her disappointment that a judge rejected her application to adopt a young orphan. Traditional dancers have arrived at the luxury lodge where the pop diva is staying, as well as government officials and members of staff of her Raising Malawi charity. Amid strict security, there was no immediate confirmation on whether it was a farewell party. Air traffic control authorities granted clearance for Madonna’s jet to depart Saturday but the star stayed in the lodge all day.

As I said yesterday, Madge is not the kind of person who takes no for an answer. If there is a chance that the initial denial could be overturned by the Malawian Supreme Court then I’m sure she is going to pursue every avenue to ensure that she wins in the end. If the appeals process is a quick one, I imagine she will stay in Malawi to see it thru … tho, if we’re talking weeks here, she’ll prolly return to her home in NY and just come back to Malawi later on. I was fairly certain that Madonna would be successful in adopting her second child from Malawi … now, I’m not so sure. One thing I am sure about, tho — Madonna will not give up. We shall see if her persistence pays off.
