Zac Efron Does ‘Interview’ Magazine
Zac Efron, who we most recently saw in the guise of Prince Phillip from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty in a new Annie Leibovitz photo for the company, is featured on the cover of the new issue of Interview magazine … behold:

Zac’s issue of Interview features a different logo (handwritten and based on the magazine logo that was used in the 1070’s) and layout from the new design team M/M Paris. At this point, I’m not aware who Zac is interviewed by for the mag (each issue features interviews of celebrities by celebrities) but will most likely be based on his upcoming new film 17 Again. While I wouldn’t necessarily agree with the mag’s headline “Zac Efron is the Future”, I do think that the kid is enjoying a pretty remarkable career right now and is, thus far, handling himself very well with all of his fame and fortune. I’m curious to see what the photos from inside the mag will look like … but, I’m sure, those will come in due time. For now, I think the magazine cover will tide us over just fine.

Besides the dreadful HSM movie saga,
what in the fuck has Zac Efron done career-wise that makes him “the future” or deserving to be on the covers of such epic magazines like Interview or even be allowed to mingle amongst credible actors at the Academy Awards?

LOL @ the typo. : ) Anyways, Zac Efron is not the future. He’s just a current teen heart throb that won’t last forever… he does seem like a good kid, though. Robert Pattinson, however, is definitely the future in movies and possibly music; he will be way easier to transfer into all different kind of things.

Dont be too hard on him all of the well known actors of today had to start somewhere…Tom Hanks, Tom cruise, Brad Pitt all started from humble movie beginnings. Give the kid a break.

Zac’s future successes cannot be credited to his performances in the HSM franchise or even Hairspray. From an acting standpoint, not very challenging roles. However, he did show great promise in that he could sing on-key, dance and act (even if he had to “dumb-down” for Disney) in those films. It’s how he became a household name.
Those of us over 21 recognize the talent we’ve seen displayed in former roles. Watch (if you can find it) the Lifetime movie, Miracle Run. Now that’s acting. He also did well with his role in Summerland. We have yet to see Me & Orson Wells or 17 Again, but all indications are we’ll see him rise up to the challenges of the more sophisticated roles than in any of his recent efforts. I was glad to hear he’d turned away from the Footloose project. You can’t compete with the original! He’s got smart people advising him and he knows how to TAKE sound advice. Smart boy! I believe he’s the one to watch.
