The Count & Countess de Lesseps Are Dunzo!
Ruh-roh! Fans of The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo TV might be surprised to learn today that the Countess LuAnn de Lesseps has decided to split with her Count hubby after she found out that he has taken up with an Ethiopian woman behind her back. You know, while watching the reality series on TV from week to week I always thought it was interesting that Count Alexandre de Lesseps was “away on biz” all of the time … and I guess now we know what kind of biz he was away doing. Sad but true, the Count and Countess de Lesseps are reportedly dunzo:
THE countess is now count-less. Friends of “The Real Housewives of New York City” star Countess Luann de Lesseps say the former model has split with Count de Lesseps. A close pal said, “They decided to separate. She got wind he was seeing somebody and he didn’t answer her when she called. He finally sent her an e-mail saying he was with an Ethiopian woman in Geneva and he was serious with her.” The revelation came as a shock to the countess, who celebrated her 16th anniversary with her husband on March 16. “Luann was blindsided. She was just devastated,” the close friend told Page Six. “They have basically lived apart for many years — he lives in Europe and comes and goes as he pleases, but she never thought this would happen. “It has been very rough for her and the children [Victoria and Noel], but she’s taking the high road and will remain friends with him,” the source added. “She has no intention of making it bitter or becoming angry. She’s just trying to come to terms with [the separation and impending divorce]. She feels this is the ultimate test for her to handle this with dignity and grace.” Luann — whose book, “Class With the Countess,” comes out next month — has told friends that, no matter what, “I will always be the countess.” A rep for Luann said, “It is obviously a very difficult time for the countess and count, but they plan to remain friends and their primary focus will be to do what is best for their two children.” Meanwhile, the rep adds that an unidentified man the countess was reported being seen with over the weekend is “just a friend — that’s it.”
If you can’t count on your Count to remain true to your wedding vows than who can you count on? I have to say, I’m not really that surprised to hear news of discord between the Count and Countess. As I said, I found it very suspicious that the Count was always away traipsing around the world doing “Count work” or whatever. What do Counts do, anyway? Apparently, they gallivant around the globe behind their wives backs while she’s occupied with her reality television program. I suspect that the couple will keep up appearances for the sake of the reality show (after all, everyone is watching). I cannot wait for the next season of The Real Housewives of New York City (even tho the current season is still airing). I’m very curious to hear what the other housewives have to say about this juicy bit of news. You know, from what I’ve seen of the Countess LuAnn de Lesseps on TV there ain’t much that I think anyone can learn from her to make themselves a better, classier person. Perhaps instead of worrying herself with trying to teach etiquette and class to the commoners, she should instead focus on taking care of things in her own home.

She was one of my least favorite housewives-actually I only liked two of them, Bethany and that redhed from Rhode Island-But it does suck for a woman like herself to go through such a public and embarrassing divorce. I’ll never understand why people who have some celebrity choose to do things like cheat. If they are caught which they usually are it is all made public and his poor children have to deal with the embarrassment.

Maybe it’s for publicity since she has that book coming out! Ooooooor maybe not..As much as I dislike her (from what I’ve seen on the show), I don’t wish that kind of news on anyone..I can’t imagine being married that long and then finding out your mate is cheating..I’m sure she had SOME idea, but it’s probably devastating to hear it’s true..I wonder how long we have until the statement comes out that the rumors aren’t true..

oooh yeah next season should be interesting..they’re all so catty and backstabbing their reactions should be entertaining….I get annoyed everytime she calls someone “my sweet” or any of her other random terms of endearment. its so disingenuous

Well, now maybe Ramona can help The Countess find a much “younger” man, right? Ramona was saying on an episode that aired recently that The Count was so much older than The Countess…and The Countess was really PO’ed about that. Now Luann can take some of her own advice -instead of giving it to Bethenny – about dating in NYC. HA! I love the color of the dress Luann is wearing, she looks amazing!

I used to like her a lot but she has been bugging the hell out of me with her holier than you bs. With that being said it is still pretty sad. She is so stuck on being a countess what the H is she going to do? Her husband is an asshole. People who cheat for whatever reason are low life people. So disgusting to do that to someone. Anywho, I feel for he but it is what it is.

I have wondered many times if he was having an affair – wasn’t he married before LuAnn? And she totally over-reacted IMHO when Ramona said she was married to someone twice her age. If she would have been more secure in her relationship I think she would have laughed it off. This season has definately not been a great one for the Countess. (does she get to keep the title?) I’m on Team Jill and Team Bethany. Nobody’s perfect, but they’re the most fun and interesting.

Phoney, phoney, phoney from day 1 of this show! Her son seems to have ZIP going for him in the self-esteem department and Victoria looks depressed all the time. Rosie deserves a HUGEEEEEEEEEEE raise for what she puts up with from “the countess”. Going to be an interesting next season!

Well she was not my favorite housewife! But yeah sucks to be her. She was too busy trying to make herself look so high and mightly. Who would have known??? I could not stand that she would always makes the other housewives feel like they were less or unexperienced! Well guess that she’s off her high horse now! I do feel bad for the kids because they are always the most affected!

She cared too much about the title “Count” rather than the actual person. I wonder what excuse she’s going to cook up now to save face and to defend her marriage falling apart. And I’m sorry, she’s always going to be a Countess? She only became one through marriage! Mizzzz de Lesseps needs to get an identity of her OWN.

I also thought that her husband was having an affair on her , because when she was at that horse show, she was really pissed when she counldt get a hold of her husband and I had a feeling that he was having an affair and she suspected it also you could tell.
I heard that she flew to geneva immediately after she found out to beg him not to leave her. How pathetic! But how sad! When she came back from sweden at the beggining of season 2 she told the other women that the count was in asia and the thought always would run through my head that the count was up to no good. Im wondering if this is the first affair he’s had or was there more? Has anyone seen a picture of the Ethiopian woman?
I also read that the countess was drunk at a party and making a scene and fighting with the count.

Did anyone notice besides me what LuAnn said to Kelly at the horseshow? After LuAnn had her phone fight with the Count, she made a remark to Kelly about husbands, then said to Kelly, “but you don’t have to worry about that, lucky bitch.”
Guess LuAnn got lucky too.
