Clearly, things are heating up between Paris Hilton and her reported new love interest and minor character on MTV‘s The Hills Doug Reinhardt … because Doug just bought her a $10,000 new Pomeranian puppy to add to her zoo of other pets. As you may recall, Paris and Doug reportedly hooked-up after Amanda Bynes dumped him — Doug accompanied Paris on her recent trip to Japan. While the lovebirds were on the other side of the planet, Life & Style magazine reports that Doug dropped some serious dough in order to purchase this new pup for his ladylove:

Paris and Doug traveled to Tokyo on Feb. 24 to promote Samantha Thavasa (Paris’ sister, Nicky Hilton, designs Samantha Thavasa New York). “We had a great time,” Paris told Life & Style outside an LA tanning salon after the trip. Doug doted on her too. “He went with her to all her appearances and shoots and would just stare at her adoringly,” says the insider. “He says she’s the hottest girl on the planet.” And Paris digs Doug. “She thinks he’s really funny and sweet,” says the insider. “When she ended her previous relationship with Benji [Madden], she promised herself she’d be single for a year. But she thinks Doug’s handsome, generous and fun to be with.” Benji was just too boring, says an insider. “He was so strict and controlling and never let her go out,” says the insider.
Er, I don’t really think that Paris really needs another pet to add to her menagerie (whatever happened to her Chiuahuas Tinkerbell and Bambi, btw?) but if you’re lookin’ to get into her good graces, buying animals for her is a pretty good strategy. I said it before, I’ll say it again … Paris and Doug were made for one another. Here’s hoping they stay happily attached FOREVER! I can’t think of a more fitting couple that totally deserve each other. Poor dog, tho. It’s cute.

My opinion on adopting from shelters etc. …. to me that supports puppy mills AND AND AND…. bad buyers/pet owners as well!!
We need a different system if we ever truely want this to end.
EVERY dog should be licensed .. maybe like a car… and have a title. And if you don’t have that title for that dog… you get a fine. Every sale should be reported with the information of the dogs new owner & they should have to switch they title any time the dog went to a new home. Every dog should have a microchip (vin #) and any breeder failing to chip & report any dog will eventually be caught & fined. If you neglect to care for it … they will find you through the microchip & paperwork. I’m not talking about “purebred” papers … I am just talking about ownership & responsibility papers.
It would cut down on abandonment & poor breeding practices. It is not just the breeders out there that suck… its the buyers. MAKE the buyers take responsibility as well & you will find a situation much improved & less pet purchases which would lead to less breeding & less population. Its all about taking responsibility for what you have created & purchased.
i think superstars are snobbby and stupid.. a couple thousand wouldnt hurt them to donate to homeless or starving kids in africa. if i had that money i would sure do something with it :)

..why do you think someone should give there money to the “poor”. Some people (like me) work hard to spend thousands, its my money; no one else is entitled to it.
Back in the 90s I had a lot. I bought my first limo with cash, hired 5 drivers and lived in luxury too. But the one thing I did not do (though I WAS a show off too) was waste money on overpriced things. Instead I fed homeless people, hookers who couldn’t earn a dime on the street,. and junkies. The restaurants hated me. I would show up with a limo full of bums, and less fortunate people. I shopped at Wal Mart, and every time I saw a homeless person I usually handed them 20-30 bucks. I went broke but I made sure not one person went to bed hungry if I could help it. 10 grand for a tea cup? I am a breeder and I don’t sell any teacups for over $500. Paris is a nice person. But like Dr Phil, she has this thing about making everything she does public. Paris helps a lot of people. She does have a heart too. Underneath her make up, you would be surprised at the normal girl she really is. But her waste of money is quite stupid.

Lyntrac may teach you a thing or 2, I agree that there is nothing wrong with spending and it’s not evil and people with lots of money will always spend in a way that most don’t understand. But, everyone should always remember to give back too. Giving shows how much you appreciate where you are in life, it’s a way of saying “thank-you” for the wonderful life I’m living.

Japan has the WORSE puppy mills that they inbreed dogs to get them that tiny, she is a moron and so is her boyfriend. Wait till that dog has medical issues. Also with the economy it is today she or he could have put that money to better use like possibly dropping it into the U.S. economy instead of Japan we have alot of starving kids and dogs among other things. Just the fact that the price has to be told, tells us a lot about self-confidence. The best gifts are the ones that are just given quietly and sincerely. You have a very lost young woman who knows nothing but how to spend, but one day that money tree will not bloom any longer and her real nettle will show. It’s not that this guy gave her a costly pet, but that it has to been told to the world. What next, the receipt blown up 50 times so we can all see it on the front page of our newspapers…It’s so ridiculous it’s sad~Just another example of how money keeps us from exploring who and what we really are.
