Paris Hilton Procures A $10,000 Puppy
A present from her new paramour Doug Reinhardt

Clearly, things are heating up between Paris Hilton and her reported new love interest and minor character on MTV‘s The Hills Doug Reinhardt … because Doug just bought her a $10,000 new Pomeranian puppy to add to her zoo of other pets. As you may recall, Paris and Doug reportedly hooked-up after Amanda Bynes dumped himDoug accompanied Paris on her recent trip to Japan. While the lovebirds were on the other side of the planet, Life & Style magazine reports that Doug dropped some serious dough in order to purchase this new pup for his ladylove:

Paris Hilton’s hot new romance with Doug Reinhardt just got a little more serious. “Doug bought Paris a $10,000 teacup Pomeranian when they were in Japan recently,” reveals an insider. Paris and Doug traveled to Tokyo on Feb. 24 to promote Samantha Thavasa (Paris’ sister, Nicky Hilton, designs Samantha Thavasa New York). “We had a great time,” Paris told Life & Style outside an LA tanning salon after the trip. Doug doted on her too. “He went with her to all her appearances and shoots and would just stare at her adoringly,” says the insider. “He says she’s the hottest girl on the planet.” And Paris digs Doug. “She thinks he’s really funny and sweet,” says the insider. “When she ended her previous relationship with Benji [Madden], she promised herself she’d be single for a year. But she thinks Doug’s handsome, generous and fun to be with.” Benji was just too boring, says an insider. “He was so strict and controlling and never let her go out,” says the insider.

Er, I don’t really think that Paris really needs another pet to add to her menagerie (whatever happened to her Chiuahuas Tinkerbell and Bambi, btw?) but if you’re lookin’ to get into her good graces, buying animals for her is a pretty good strategy. I said it before, I’ll say it again … Paris and Doug were made for one another. Here’s hoping they stay happily attached FOREVER! I can’t think of a more fitting couple that totally deserve each other. Poor dog, tho. It’s cute.

As much as I may not like the lifestyle this girl lives, it is really none of my business to say what she does with her $$$$$$$$$$$…how would you like it if a poverty stricken person who has zero $ tries to tell you not to buy a pair of shoes that costs $50 because they can barely afford $5 shoes from Goodwill. There are differences between the classes and always will be. The multi millionaires could afford to own a Picasso painting worth millions but if someone gave us a Picasso, we would probably sell it because we paying insurance on it would break us.

How horrible! She should have adopted a homeless pet from a shelter or rescue. Doesnt she know how many animals $10,000 will feed?!?!?!

ARe you freaking shitting me?!?!? 10K on a dog, who probably was work maybe a couple thousand. I agree PH is not a role model, unless it is for people that want everything handed to them! I also agree, she could of done a lot with that 10k for an animal shelter. Anywho….I hope who ever sold her the dog was in dire need of the mooolllaaa..

  4. There is no such animal as a teacup! The Pomeranian and other small dogs are classified as toy dogs. Only con-artists trying to sell tiny dogs call them “teacups” I have a two pound Maltese, but she is not called a teacup!.
If Doug wants to pay $10000 on a puppy, so what? But I hope that he bought from a reputable show breeder who breeds for quality!

I saw a photo/story from TMZ that shows Paris in NYC shopping with her Chihuahua Tinkerbell. Noticed that the dog had a tag on the collar, looked like a flea deterrent, but turns out Paris’ people uses a product called Frescopet fragrant tags for her dog.

Any animal lucky enough to be with Paris will be living a life of royalty. She has her own group of people that takes care of them. They are spoiled and living in bliss.

And show breeders also sll their puppies for $5000+. Who cares?! I know if I hand fed a puppy every 2 hours for 1 month (which I have done before) that I will be charging a lot for my time dedicated to that pup(s). Just think of it as buyer from a family that income depends on the money so it’s going right back into the economy (but it’s Japan so it’s irrelevant now). If you breed, you MUST pay taxes in the US.

The problem is paris keep getting her pups from stores which come from mills or unethical breeders, so she’s helping them out and not actually helping the cause.

My take on the word Teacup. It is a marketing term to bring attention to people who are looking for a certain size. It is like bringing attention to a show hopeful to show breeders. They are targeting a certain audience.

Yorkies are pets. They have no real use but to become a pet. They arent working dogs or have a higher purposes now. Whether you breed them to be 3lb or 7lbs, at the end of the day they are going to be someones pet with the purpose of doing nothing but being a lap dog (unless they become therapy dogs, etc. which in that case, any dogs can become that).

AKC will slowly change like it has been to accommodate what the majority of the public is looking for. So if everyone prefers a baby doll tiny, then Im sure after some years, the standard will slowly change into smaller snouts and maybe even the size will change from under 7lbs to under 6lbs.

If tons of people (or laws) start to keep tails undocked then the standard will more than likely be change to have a choice of docked or not. (and with rise of counties, banning the procedure, that may be sooner than later).

And again, It’s up to the breeder to make sure someone is up to par concerning the knowledge about the health of a tinier one. If a breeder just sends a tiny one to anyone that pays, that is the fault of the breeder and buyer, not the term.

The term teacup doesnt make a breeding practice poor or superior. The actual dogs and the procedures the breeder makes make them so.

Many people consider teacup to mean 4lbs or lower. The standard is 7lb or lower. No limit to a minimum. So a breeder who teacups are 3-4lbs means they are breeding wrong? No. But I guess because they call them teacups, it means so? No. Saying teacups have health problems have so many loop holes.

When everyone keeps zeroing in on the term you aren’t helping the cause either. You are only downgrading the term not the size itself. Because people are telling others that teacups are unhealthy, when someone see a x-small one that isn’t named a teacup they will think that breeder is better. There’s no difference between breeding smaller and calling them teacup or not calling them teacup. Its the breeder their self.

When most people try to focus on the term and the truth or lie behind it, you are putting the facts and concerns about a breeder to the back. You are bringing all of the attention to teacup. Bring the attention of breeding and the correct/wrong practices to the front and then emphasize that teacup is used this or that way to this or that breeder. Teacup is actual the small part of the problem. But Im sure many people will keep emphasize the term isnt true and true bad breeding will be left unnoticed.

Theres a breeder on Youtube that breeds the smaller size and calls them teacups, she also educated the buyer and interview excessively (as well a test her dogs) Because she calls them teacups, she isnt good, right? She does the same thing conformation breeders do except call the dogs teacups and breeds for the smaller size. The term teacup only has as much power as you put into it. Downgrading the term is only giving it more power and unconsciously taking away from what needs to really be looked at
