Now YOU, Too Can Be As Orange As Lindsay Lohan

L. Lo launches her own line of fake tanner, do try and contain yourselves
March 12th, 2009

The world of celebrity products has just gotten a week bit bigger … after trying her hand at launching her own line of leggings, Lindsay Lohan is now making a foray into the fake tanning market by offering her own fake tanner called Sevin Nyne. Here is our first look at a new promo image for her line of fake tanner … which, I think, is meant to inspire customers to want to buy her product so that they can look like her … you interested?

Lindsay Lohan has branched out in the world of beauty and is set to launch her own line of self-tanning products next month. But the actress has been snapped on more than one occasion sporting terrible fake tan disasters. White feet, grubby fingers and a tell-tale tan moustache have all been seen on the starlet. But the Mean Girls star insists that her range is different from other fake tan products. “I have tried every product on the market and never found something that I loved. It was important to me to have a natural product that didn’t have a lot of dyes and chemicals,” she told People magazine. Lindsay’s tanning ‘mist’ – Sevin Nyne; a play on her favourite numbers – contains DHA, which is said to tan the skin without staining it. It also contains a list of ingredients that read more like pudding recipe than a fake tan product. Sevin Nyne uses caramel instead of colouring to achieve that golden glow, plus a sugar-coconut base and chardonnay extracts. “Our product has goji berry extract, which has antioxidant properties, it has a natural golden colour, it doesn’t streak and smells delicious – not like a typical tanning product,” Lindsay gushes … t’s not the first time the actress has put her name to a new product. Last year she launched a range of leggings, called 6126 – presumably more of her favourite numbers. Her leggings sold out in stores in the US, so perhaps she can work the same magic with her tanning products. Sevin Nyne will be available from Sephora.com from April 15 although it is not known whether the product will be launched in the UK.

Look … I like Lindsay and all but … of all the celebrity products on the market that I can’t imagine ever buying, fake suntanner from Lindsay Lohan has to be at the top of the list. I can’t think of anything that is less appealing. Sure, her new promo pics for this product are kinda okay but even they aren’t good enough to convince me to try her product. Is any of this working on you? After the jump, check out one more promo pic used to promote Sevin Nyne to see if you are further inspired to smear that orange Lindsay Lohan glow all over your body …

Yeah, no. Leggings, meh, I guess there’s a market for those … fake suntanner has got to be the worst idea ever. Still … I bet someone out there might be interested in buying and actually wearing this stuff. So, if you ever come upon a particularly orange person in your neck of the woods and you ask them how they achieved their fetching orange glow, don’t be surprised if they tell you they got it from a bottle of Sevin Nyne. You should also not be surprised if they tell you that they are an Oompa Loompa and they were just born that way.

  1. Mr.Avenjer Says:

I think Lindsay should make her own products for constipation. Because Samantha Ronson always has a constipated look on her face everytime their snapped together. Oh, wait…:)

  2. Angie Says:

I would like it better if the name werre different… ‘Sevin Nyne’ really makes it seem like something it’s not.

  3. Meagan Says:

I suppose it’s better than getting skin cancer from being in the beds, right? She could have her own line of tanning beds, now that would be something.

  4. Splacer Says:

The name makes me think of strychnine.

  5. Sarah Day Says:

I think the product sounds like it might be good, since everybody knows she has tried every fake tanner there is!
Now if anybody wants to buy it… that is probably a different story. I wish her the best of luck!!

  6. lucy Says:

EW…the first picture really makes it seem like she smells. I bet her tanner smells like dirty feet.

  7. Jax Says:

I think I’ll stay with my Jergens, which works great for me thanks. :)

  8. Jadedkitten Says:

    …….Her career is so over

  9. Brittany Says:

Her eyes look amazing. But that’s about it.

  10. Hannah Says:

@Splacer-Me too! Not exactly something you want to be associated with. Then again, it’s Lindsay Lohan so who knows?

  11. skippy Says:

Isn’t Sevin the name of a deadly nerve gas?

  12. Belle Says:

Those pics make it look OK (just OK, not good) but they are also pretty heavily Photoshopped (they went a little heavy on the skin smoothing/correcting, especially in the first one). If I saw her out and about and not orange looking, then OK, might be a great product. I wouldn’t go off of that ad though…

  13. laura Says:

I wonder, is this an old pic…she doesn’t seem so scary skinny in that first pic. maybe it’s just the pose.

  14. naomiblack Says:

Poor Lindsay, that girl has taken a turn!!!

  15. MeGs Says:

I want to try this product. I am really pale, and I use self tanners from time to time. Mary Kay Subtle Tan is my product of choice, but Lilo uses self tanner ALOT so I am thinking that she has some knowledge on the subject. I’ll give it a try anyways..

  16. Jadedkitten Says:

@ megs have you seen liol’s tans tho they’re always horrible.

  17. MeGs Says:

I dunno, I hear ya on the fact that her fake tan is noticable more times than not but I’m curious about the product. I don’t over use self tanners (I’ve learned my lessons on orange lol) but I think its worth a try atleast.

  18. Peep overload Says:

    Peeps are everywhere! ;P

  19. nicole Says:

i give her credit for hitting a market no other celeb has yet. this might work for her.

  20. Blair Says:

Eww she is so desperate. Her and fame whore misha barton should approach E! and do a reality programme together called last chance saloon. I may copy write that actually.

  21. kk Says:

umm… wouldn’t the caramel and sugar-coconut stuff attract things like mosquitoes and flies? ew…

  22. Presley Says:

Leave it to the pale freckle faced red head to come up with a spray tan line.

  23. Michelle Says:

Um… no. Lord knows I love my tan and I work very hard to get that perfect summer glow but first of all fake tanners rarely give you a good tan and secondly I distinctly remember photo after photo of her with some of the worst orangey streaks I have ever seen! So really thanks, but no thanks on this one!

  24. zoe Says:

ok, so not that I’m gonna go BUY this piece of shameless self-promotion, but I really want to give Lindsay credit for creating an ALL-NATURAL fake tanner and putting her name to that sort of product. I say, good for her – more people in high positions should be questioning the process of creation of all consumer products – not only tanners, but all cosmetics, and clothing. though, with LaLohan as their spokesperson, this sevin nyne company may not succeed as well as, for example, ScarJo or someone less… dirty lol… oh well, bad for the company, but any publicity is good for Linds…

  25. PixieBassline Says:

    Shoulda named it “Nasty Bitch”

  26. alf Says:

If it doesn’t smell gross like most tanners (like she claims) and it doesn’t break the bank, then I would totally try it. Beats the fake and bake.

  27. LisaTfrom FL Says:

    Ewww.

  28. Adri Says:

shoulda called it aayt-syxxxx, as in the year that she, not Heath Ledger, Kate Hudson, or Aaliyah was born in.

  29. Amanda Says:

Lindsay Lohan is a redhead… a ginger. no matter how many times she dyes it.
Gingers should not be be tanned, let alone starting their own line of spray on orange

  30. Kim Says:

This tanner is great. I wish she would make it in a travel size to get through airline regulations. It smells great also.
Try it. Sephora carries it. IF you don’t like it, Sephora will always take it back even if you tried it. But, no doubt , its the best tanner I have used !!!!! Great for face , especially.
    Best of love, K.
