Morocc-an Roll

Yesterday was a quite yet productive day. David and I are really close to having our last room of mess put away and cleared out so that we can FINALLY get our bed. We did manage to get out of the house last night after we got a last minute invite to join Darion, his father Tim and friends Jeff and Jenn for dinner at a Moroccan restaurant on Sunset Blvd. called Dar Magreb. The place was beautifully decorated and the food was served in traditional style, big plates to share and eating with one’s hands. Normally, I’m not a fan of eating with my hands but, when in Rome … the place also had a belly dancer to provide entertainment. Here are a few photos from last night’s fun:

Darion’s father flew down from Oregon to help him move into his new apt. and dinner last night was a thank you for his help and hard work. We had a great time … Jeff and Jenn are a really fun couple and we were very happy to be included. Unfortch, David opted out of the belly dancing fun but I shimmied and shaked on his behalf. These hips don’t lie :)

No big plans for today, I might meet up with Tony for a quick bite to eat since we made tentative plans to hang out last week. I’m really resolved to get our final room unpacked, put away and cleared out. I’m hoping there’ll be time to take care of some of that today. I realize it’s cold and snowy in some parts of the US, my heart goes out to all y’all. It’s a nice warm day here today, tho it’s been cloudy all day long. Wherever you are in the world, I hope today is a great one for you :)

I’m in Canada looking out my window at a snowstorm and hunkered down with cheezies and wine!

@Mr. Gyllenhaal — no no, we’ve been sleeping in my bed in our guest room but we want a king size for our master bedroom :)

I’m in Virginia and I’m fairly certain we have a foot of snow. I love the snow, so it’s cool. But I’m freezing right now. Enjoy the warm weather for me, Trent.

I am in Denver, and it is in the 70’s for the next few days. I would bet my last dollar that winter is not done with us tho. March is our snowiest month. I am sure the worst is still yet to come.

  7. Emm Says:

Yeah it sucks out here. But I am glad we had a snow day. It’s VERY rare for NYC schools to close because of snow.

Okay I lived in Los Angeles for 3 years and my husband was born and raised there. He had his first “real” winter this year since we moved to Chicago and he LOVES snow. I could never get into Christmas in L.A. It felt weird when you’ve got air conditioning on. I needed changing seasons.

  9. Chella Says:

I grew up in Calf. too and I did not like it at Christmas no snow:( I love the season to change!!
