Michael Jackson Arrives In The UK
Jacko will reportedly announce a string of UK Summer dates at the O2 Arena

Yesterday we learned that Michael Jackson had signed a deal to perform a string of concert dates — yes, live concert performances — at the O2 Arena in London, England this summer and would be on hand when the formal residency announcement is made at the venue this coming Thursday. Today, we get to see the first photo of Jacko making his arrival in the UK, his first visit since 2006, ahead of his reported appearance at the press conference to take place tomorrow:

SUPERSTAR MICHAEL JACKSON arrives in Britain yesterday to announce plans for his £150million comeback. The king of pop flew in secretly on a private jet from Los Angeles with his children. It was his first trip to the UK since 2006 and a dozen security guards tried to shield him from public view as he stepped off the plane. A white limo then whisked him from Luton airport to a hotel in Knightsbridge, London, with youngsters Prince Michael, ten, Paris, nine, and Prince Michael II, five. Jacko, 50, who is being treated for an MRSA-type infection, is expected to confirm tomorrow that he will perform 30 concerts at London’s O2 Arena over the summer. A new album may also be announced. The singer is expected to pick up around £5million from each show which Jacko hopes will help him to clear astronomical debts.

Well, hot damn … it’s really happening. As I mentioned yesterday, I’m very curious to see if Jacko is up to the task of putting on this string of performances in front of, what will undoubtedly be, a packed arena full of anxious fans. I really hope he is capable of pulling off these shows … as much as I’m not a bona fide Michael Jackson fan, I’d hate to see him embarrass himself on such a public stage, with pretty much the whole world watching. As you can kinda see in the photo above, Jacko is still very much covering up his face. Considering what might be hiding underneath that face mask, it’s prolly a good idea that he continues to do so. That said, I can’t wait to see what he looks like at tomorrow’s press conference. The mask is gonna have to come off … I think at that point, we’ll see what may be in store for folks who want to come out and see him perform at the O2 Arena this Summer. Honestly, I’m afraid, y’all. What do y’all think … is he up for the task?

UHHH, why couldn’t he be doing this in Vegas or Los Angeles? I would totally go see him there, but I can’t afford a flight AND a ticket! I’m sure he will do just fine :]]

  2. Mr. Gyllenhaal says:

I wouldn’t go and see him at all. I think it is odd he is doing this in London and agree with Lana this should be done in Vegas. Either way, I wouldn’t waste the money to see him.

Ewwwww he needs to go away! Stay out of the public and everyone else’s eye. I mean i know you aren’t supposed to hate anyone or anything but i think alot of people have come pretty close to that word.

  5. radiostar says:

I dont think anyone in vegas offered him enough money. Thats why hes going to do the shows in London.

  6. musicyna says:

Cool!!! But it will be playback like he’s done ever since ’91. A bit sad. Probably go see him again. But he is still not as good a live performer as prince.. far from.. So prince please come back to the O2.
I just think the whole thing seems half-hearted, because he is doing it plainly for the money, and not the fans. Sad but true.

It seems like he wouldn’t be allowed in the country with a “MRSA-type infection”.
Also, any word on the tour dates, as I’ll be in the UK this summer and would like to avoid the craziness that is sure to surround his shows.

  8. B says:

    I wouldn’t pay $5 to see him. Just…ugh.

  9. Mars says:

I think MJ will do what he has been doing for the last 8 years and that is keep the piblic guessing and anticipating about “A NEW ALBUM” “NEW CONCERTS” blah blah blah…. and end up running away. Lets face it if he mimed his way through the whole Histroy Tour, do you really think he will ‘SING’ live over 30 shows????

Me thinks this will be a make or break time for MJ, I think the public’s patience has just about run out!

I don’t think he’s doing it just for the money. Michael is extremely creative and loves putting together a great show. I think he misses doing this and he’s excited about his upcoming performances. He has hired one celebrity to join his show already and I’m sure more are to come. My guess is that he won’t ever perform in LA again, and unfortunately, I don’t believe he will perform in America again.
