i never really paid much attention to Hayden…but im guessing she has a diva complex?

Ooooh! I used to have tachycardia! I dont know why I sound excited! It’s not that great….=(
And *eyeroll* at Hayden, she needs the press! After Heroes I doubt she will be very sucessfull.
get over yourself hayden!!
and nickelodeon should be ashamed of themselves for keeping him as a nominee. i know he has not been convicted of anything, but let’s be serious. it sends a really bad message to people, especially young kids
Didn’t Kelly Clarkson give that same interview a year or two ago? I swear I’ve read the whole “I’ve never been in love” spiel before…
I think it’s great the Oprah is putting her spot light on what happened with Rihanna & Chris Brown.
Here’s a petition to remove Chris Brown and Rhianna from the list of nominees at the Kids Choice Awards. I’m a bit hesitant to support removing Rhianna’s name, but I think their point about her not being a “winner” is a good one. It has almost 5,000 signatures.

First of all, I think whole rihanna and chris brown thing shouldnt be talked about. I get that people like to gossip about which stars are too skinny and which ones shouldnt wear their hair like that. But this is an extremely private matter and i have no idea why so many people are speculating when I doubt they have been in such a situation. Bottom line, no one really knows what happened or how it even got to that point. So how can we judge. I have been in an abusive relationship and you cant even begin to understand what they are going through. And even if chris did hit her, who are guys to crucify him? I am not condoning anything he has done, but his music is great and I am not going to stop liking his music. He is talented but it just seems like he lost his way. He is human and he will live with his mistakes. So why do we have to talk more away form him??
Second, Big Love is not about mormons. Lets not get this mixed up. Polygamy has nothing to do with the mormon religion. More people would know that if you actually researched it. So the LDS church has a right to be mad because you are putting them in a light that they shouldnt be in. So lets read up on the facts before we start making comments.
@Jewels
1. I disagree. Domestic violence should always be talked about. The more it’s out in the open, and publicly maligned the less victims will be stigmatized and hopefully the less it’ll happen as awareness increases. This correlation can seem slightly murky, but essentially not only will it get talked about more as it’s publicized more (see Oprah doing a show on it this Thurs, etc), but campaigning for it will increase, government funding to education programs will increase, and the next generation will grow up learning more about what the boundaries are in respectful relationships.
2. I have also been in an abusive relationship – they’re each different, that’s for sure. For what it’s worth, I’m sorry that you had to go through it – I would give anything to protect everyone from it.
3. What I do know is that she ended up looking like that, the police released the investigator’s report, the charges haven’t been dropped despite Rhianna not pushing them forwards (an indication there’s strong evidence) and he’s apparently said that he’s seeking help. I don’t need to wait for the courts to decide before drawing my own conclusions – I’m not willing to give him (or anyone in these circumstances) the benefit of the doubt, but I will retract my comments if he’s proved not-guilty.
4. Your comment about “Even if Chris did hit her, who are you guys to crucify him” is a bit off the mark, IMHO. We’re the public, who he relies on to sell his records. When I buy something – from an item of clothing to a CD – it’s not just the product in my hands that matters, but where the money goes, how it’s spent, and whether or not I support that (think blood diamonds). Chris’ records have blood on them, and because he’s trying to sell them to me, I’m in just the right position to stop buying them (not crucify him). As for raising awareness about domestic violence, it’s not just my right to do it, it’s my job to do it.
5. Let’s be clear: you don’t “lose your way” and end up hitting someone. You have violent tendencies that are absolutely totally unacceptable and you need to seek long-term counseling for them. As you probably know, it’s also unlikely to be a mistake either, as they’re one-offs.
hmmm if hayden said that , where is the video ?
Polygamists are NOT Mormons. No matter what they say… Ask the REAL Mormon church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints… They are not members of the same church. In fact, if a member of the LDS Church decides to practice polygamy, they are no longer considered members. That is the true problem. The fact that everyone seems to get it twisted.
I love that the Mormons are angry at Big Love… seeing as how they outlawed Polygamy like how many years ago and the show clearly centers around a polygamyst sect I think they should calm down just a little bit. Although I guess when you’ve got some sketchy biz going down in your faiths history it’s hard to ignore… and even though I’m not a Miley fan I do think it sucks that she has to deal with a heart problem like that. I know a girl who had many operations as a baby to repair a hole in her heart and also to fix the valves which were in the wrong places and it is no joke…
As for the whole Chris Brown and the Kids Choice Awards thing… I’m on the fence. On the one side he was charged with a felony and will face his day in court and has apologized for something, even though he has yet to say that he actually beat his girl and I do think that kids should understand that domestic violence is no joke….
On the other hand, I do believe he has been nominated for his work in music which is his professional career. While I agree that he is looked at as a role model to kids, I do know that kids and especially the ones who are fans of Nickelodeon probably do not completely understand what’s happened. Or they do but still appreciate his music. I don’t think it would hurt to keep him on the ballot… because again it’s for his musical talent and not his actions outside of the recording studio. We still award artists and actors who are druggies and who have affairs with others, how can we not deny them but deny him?
@ Michelle: Thanks, but it has nothing to do with any “sketchy biz” that upsets members of the LDS Church. Anyone who studies ACTUAL church history from the source and not fabricated history explains the situation quite clearly. The issue with Big Love is that something held extremely sacred is being publicized and criticized, being the temple ceremonies. I am sure ANY faith or group would be upset if they had their precious things shown in a way that was not appropriate.
My earlier comment was actually directed at Trent and anyone else who says that Big Love is about Mormons. Because it is not. Mormons are NOT Polygamists. THE END
@madsme
i totally agree with all of your points, well said.
FYI – Utah (the Mormon mothership) has the highest number of internet porn downloads in the US …
CoCo – Well said.
Michelle – there is no “sketchy biz” in that religion. Study it for youself.
Joanne – that comment has no valid point and is completely random.
Katelyn Phipps – I just read the report on it … very interesting reading … I think my point is very valid (if random) … The hypocrisy of the church that threw millions $ into Prop 8 and likes to tell the world how they should be living.
Joanne- How about you worry about your own religion and let LDS people worry about how they choose to practice their faith. Utah ALSO has the highest population of teenage boys in the country. No matter what religion you are, teenage boys are curious and many check out porn. More than likely the reason that the rate of porn is so high. And as far as Prop 8 goes, those donations were individuals. If you want to know what the Church actually says about it, check out their official statement at mormon.org. They are for civil rights of ALL people. Then they allow members to decide what that actually is and ask them to vote for what they feel is right. The Church is actually working closely with GL groups in Utah and Salt Lake City has granted a lot of rights to domestic partnerships. Get your facts straight before you spew hate. I personally don’t have a problem with gay marriage. I also don’t have a problem with gay adoption. Although many LDS people don’t agree with me, that is thier right. Further more, 3% of the state of CA is LDS. 3% is NOTHING! Clearly, there are bigger groups that need to be convinced about marital rights. If you want to be a “Mormon Basher”, go get on Perez Hilton’s soap box. I think that Trent is above hate of any kind. At least that is how he portrays himself on this blog.
