Jiley Shows Their ‘Sympathy For The Devil’ At Church
After spending part of their weekend drawing as much attention as possible while hanging out on the streets of downtown Burbank, CA, 16-year old Miley Cyrus and her 20-year old manfriend Justin Gaston hooked up with her family (including mama Tish Cyrus and pappy Billy Ray Cyrus) so that they could all enjoy a morning of worship at church together. As always, the event was cause for dressing up and revelry … behold:

OK, I get that the church that the Cyrus family likes to attend has a pretty relaxed dress code … but doesn’t it seem a bit sacrilegious to wear a Rolling Stones t-shirt to church? I mean … c’mon. It may not be as bad as wearing a Marilyn Manson t-shirt but it’s close, don’t you think? It seems a bit wrong to see a Bible tucked under the arm of a t-shirt with the classic RS lips logo on full display. That being said, tho, not even the t-shirt is as offensive as those horrible streaks in Billy Ray’s hair. God may forgive the wearing of rock band t-shirt in His house of worship but I cannot imagine that it easy to forgive Billy Ray’s heinous hair-do. Some sins are just too great to forgive. Blech!

I don’t care what’s ON the shirt as long as it’s as tight as that one… ;)

nah, i think the tshirt is innocent enough.
but the cyrus family is so white trash. its apparent that this family is the prime example that money and fame certainly do not ensure class.

@ mimi – that is SO true.

Ugh, regardless of how casual it is, could they not at least look like they bathed? The other people coming out of church look casual, but not like they just rolled out of bed and threw on whatever was on the floor from last night.
What’s worse than Billy Ray’s hair, is that thing on his face. He needs a razor, stat.

I like her boots!!!

I hate his hair too! It totally looks like a ladies haircut. It’s almost as bad as the mullet he sported back in the day. I think both are heinous imo.

C’mon trent! You lived in Oklahoma! You should know there are churches like this! :)

@Lula — LOL! Yeah, I was not going to church when I lived in OK but … I’m not surprised to read your comment ;)

sorry but I do find it a little disrespectful. It’s not like that is the only thing he has to wear. Come on now.
March 17th, 2009 at 11:08 am
Like my mom says, “It doesnt matter what you wear, as long as you’re butt’s in the seat.” She didnt mention hair, though.
March 17th, 2009 at 11:21 am
Yeah I agree. It’s not just about the Rolling Stone t-shirt but more about how they dressed for going to the church. I mean they could have step up their game just a little.
March 17th, 2009 at 11:55 am
It all depends on the church I guess… I haven’t been in years but when I was little we would have to get dressed up every Sunday and I’m fairly sure the pastor would keel over at the altar if we ever walked in like that… but every church is different… although I do agree that it’s very odd the combination of Rolling Stones and the Bible… maybe the boy is on to something new?!

It would be nice if they could be a little more appropriate, since heaven knows they can afford good clothes, but the important thing is that they’re going. Jesus said that he came to be with the sinners, not with the righteous. So good on them for making the effort.

Psh, we all know God rocks out to The Rolling Stones.
Though, they could be more appropriate, even if it’s super-lax. I was never a Christian, but I always knew my friends would dress up for church and whatnot.

that shirt is way too small for him!
March 17th, 2009 at 6:21 pm
psssh. that would be fine at most emergent or relevant churches. i’ve worn worse.
March 17th, 2009 at 11:56 pm
I hate how churches encourage people to attend looking like this (are you going to a Bon Jovi concert?). It’s just a cheap ploy to make the church appear cool or relevant. Less standards = More people = More $$$ … Does it hurt anyone to dress up every now and then? … But then Miley chewed gum at the Oscars …
