James Franco Goes Sleepy Now
One of James Franco’s fellow classmates at Columbia University managed to snap a photo of Mr. Franco after he appears to have fallen asleep during one of his lectures … and then immediately sent the photo off to TMZ:
My guess is that the poor guy was dreaming of acing his next exam, yeah! While this photo is so full of LOL you have to admit that we’ve all nodded off during lectures at one point or other in our scholastic pasts. Shoot, my first 2-hour class my Freshman year of college was a Developmental Psychology class that I slept in all the time. As a result, I changed my major from psychology to political science … and then became a professional blogger. See … things happen for a reason. If Franco keeps sleeping his way thru his classes, mebbe he can go back to acting?

I would shudder to think of all the photos of me sleeping in almost every one of my classes that would be floating around right now if I were famous! Come on, this is the real university experience!!

@Ashley – all it shows is that early classes suck, lol! I slept through most of mine and finished a double degree with an 80% average!

totally agree. James is doing something good for himself, he doesn’t need to do it, he is the hottest actor in hollywood right noe, yhet he choses to attend college, he’s probably just tired because he was up all night finishing an essay.

Ashley, i agree with the above comment. Whatever you miss in class (may it be cause you fell asleep or you skipped it for whatever reason), you can catch up by reading the textbook, powerpoints, or a friend’s notes.
it’s so easy to fall asleep in a class if the professor is not very good. most professors are extremely smart, but can’t teach a damn.

Obviously I like gossip and pictures of celebrities, but I really think posting this kind of photo is a bit much. He’s in a classroom, not a public street. Leave the dude alone. No wonder they all go insane, if there’s absolutely NO WHERE they can expect any modicom of privacy.

A few weeks ago I fell asleep in class and my teacher slammed her textbook on my table and I woke up, scared, and I had a piece of paper stuck to my face because of drool. Now that was embarrassing.

ah this takes me back. But sleeping in class only works in a big lecture hall and not in a class of under 20 students. I know this from experience. The teacher sure knew my name after that day!

awww poor thing! hahahaha It is so hard to stay awake dureing class whe u are tired. At first u start to stare at the teacher without hearing a single word of what he is saying, you are just staring, and the it gets all blurry hahahaha I remember the feeling. I used to have one class from 7pm till 11pm Systematic Anthropology damn! by 10 I would start staring and hearing nothing hahahaha. It happens, doesn’t mean he is not smart. I like that he is studying.

I have never been able to fall asleep in class, I don’t know how people manage to do it! More power to him, I guess, though he should expect somebody might do something like this. But from all the other comments, he is just normal, I guess!

I used to sleep during ALL my “social and cultural studies” classes… common! he’s human, and he’s taking like thousand courses at one time… and acting… and publishing a book! so… it’s not the end of the world, get over it

seriously, i used to fall asleep all the time in class but there is a correct way to do it so the professor doesn’t know that you’re just using their class to catch up on some sleep. i mastered the art of falling asleep in class.. i could fall asleep and still look like i was taking notes or reading. although, it’s a lot easier in a class with a desk. i guess there is no real way to hide that you’re sleeping in a lecture hall but you are less noticeable with all the people that are there.

This makes me giggle and empathize all at once. On monday, I fell fast asleep in lecture, and the guy next to me thought he was being nice and woke me up. Who cares as long as the prof does not notice.

I used to sleep through my psych class all the time! I also switched my major from psych to politics.
Maybe he’s in a first year psych class…if so, nobody can blame him.

That’s awesome! I love seeing pics of celebs in normal settings doing things that us normal people do! I once nodded off in the middle of my Perspectives on American Education class… which wasn’t the wisest idea considering I sat in the front and the prof called me out in front of the class…and I couldn’t even drop the course because it was a requirement! I can tell you I still have no clue what that class was about! Oh and I used to fall asleep in Psych all the time… soo boring…
