Chris Brown To Be Arraigned On His Felony Charges
Media outlets are camped out in front of the LA Superior Court right now (TMZ has a live feed HERE) waiting for the arrival of Chris Brown for his arraignment on the 2 felony charges that are being leveled against him. As a result of this latest courtroom development, new documents have been made available to the press that offer grim new details from the fateful night that Brown allegedly assaulted girlfriend Rihanna:
A warrant for phone records has been made available (and was mentioned earlier today in THIS post) and includes one police detective’s account of what went down on February 8 according to Rihanna herself. Earlier today we read some of the account but the warrant (which can be downloaded HERE) contains Rihanna’s account of the alleged assault in full. After the jump, if you are so inclined, read my full transcription of what was reported to the police that night — BE WARNED, it contains some very grim details of what Rihanna alleged happened to her on that night …
To reiterate, the following transcription is the account of the incident as told by Rihanna to police on the night of the alleged attack. The account is included in THIS warrant for phone records that has been made available to the press:
Christopher Brown and Robyn F. have been involved in a dating relationship for approximately one and a half years. On Sunday February 8.2009 at 00:25 hours, Brown was driving a vehicle with Robyn F. as the front passenger on an unknown street in Los Angeles. Robyn F. picked up Brown’s cellular telephone and observed a three page text message from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with. A verbal argument ensued and Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown was unable to force Robyn F. out of the vehicle because she was wearing a seat belt. When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against the passenger window of the vehicle causing an approximate one inch raised circular contusion. Robyn F. turned to face Brown and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand. He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand. The assault caused Robin F’s. mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle.
Brown looked at Robyn F. and stated, “I’m going to beat the shit out of you when we get home! You wait and see!” Robyn F. picked up her cellular telephone and called her personal assistant Jennifer Rosales at (818) ***-****. Rosales did not answer the telephone but while her voicemail greeting was playing, Robyn F. pretended to talk to her and stated, “I’m on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there.” (This statement was made while the greeting was playing and was not captured as a message). After Robyn F. faked the call, Brown looked at her and stated, “You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I’m really going to kill you!” Brown resumed punching Robyn F. and she interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face. She then bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and face near her lap in attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied upon her by Brown. Brown continued to punch Robyn F. on her left arm and hand causing her to suffer a contusion on her left triceps that was approximately two inches in diameter and numerous contusions on her left hand. Robyn F. then attempted to send a text message to her other personal assistant, Melissa Ford. Brown snatched the cellular telephone out of her hand and threw it out of the window onto an unknown street.
Brown continued driving and Robyn F. observed his cellular telephone sitting in his lap. She picked up the cellular telephone with her left hand and before she could make a call he placed her in a head lock with his right hand and continued to drive the vehicle with his left hand. Brown pulled Robyn F. close to him and bit her on her left ear. She was able to feel the vehicle swerving from right to left as Brown sped away. He stopped the vehicle in front of 333 North **** Street and Robyn F. turned off the car, removed the key from the ignition and sat on it. Brown did not know what she did with the key and began punching her in the face and arms. He then placed her in a head lock positioning the front of her throat between his bicep and forearm. Brown began applying pressure to Robyn F’s. left and right carotid arteries causing her to be unable to breathe and she began to lose consciousness. She reached up with her left hand and began attempting to gouge his eyes in an attempt to free herself. Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her. While Brown continued to punch her, she turned around and placed her back against the passenger door. She brought her knees to her chest, placed her feet against Brown’s body and began punching him away. Brown continued to punch her on the legs and feet causing several contusions. Robyn F. began screaming for help and Brown exited the vehicle and walked away. A resident in the neighborhood heard Robyn F’s. plea for help and called 911, causing a police response. An investigation was conducted and Robyn F. was issued a Domestic Violence Emergency Protective Order (EPO).
The warrant in question is for phone records to help police corroborate the information that Rihanna gave to them at the time of the assault. I am just SHOCKED at what she claims he did to her. Honestly, I find it very easy to believe her. Whether or not she will remain true to what she told police at the time is another matter. This detailed account of her assault is so incredibly sad … and that sadness is compounded by the fact that she’s apparently already willing to reconcile with him. I am so happy that the prosecutor’s office is moving forward with the case. If these allegations are true, Chris Brown deserves to be locked up for a long time. Again … I’m just … stunned.

I also feel sick and sooo sad. Young women need to get the message that NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO (take some keys or a cell phone or ask about another woman) it is NEVER okay for a man to hurt you like this. I hope someone can intervene and help Rihanna to understand this – she is worth more than this and the young ladies (and men) who are her fans need to know that they are too!

R – get a clue. Get out of this relationship and get help. Your father is all wrong. You should NOT go back with this guy. He will only do it again. He needs some SERIOUS help, not just “family” or a “pastor”. He needs serious counseling and maybe some time in the slammer to think about just how wrong he was.

I just hope he actually gets more than probation. Obviously, Rihanna’s suffering from battered woman syndrome to take him back after an account like this, so I feel like they should just go ahead without her testimony and just go ahead with her account from the actual night she gave then.
She’s just going to play it off that it wasn’t as bad as she said. The picture out there will make it harder for her, but I’m sure that’s what’ll happen.

Obviously the guy is mental and deserves to go to jail. HOWEVER, although it is not Rihanna’s fault, if she has in fact reconciled with him than I have lost most of the sympathy I have for her. Not only is she disrespecting herself, but she is also setting a very poor example for the many people that look up to her as a role model. I certainly hope that CB doesn’t get a “hollywood” punishment, and actually spends some time behind bars.
If T.I. can get a year in prison for trying to purchase a gun, than CB should def sit his sorry butt in jail for the 4 years I read he was facing.

This is what I needed to read to make this whole thing real to me. I have been holding out hope that the details would not be as bad as I suspected but now the grim reality is clear. What a complete monster. I am just in shock. There is no way this could have been the first time he physically assaulted her. How can she go back to him? Why is her family supporting this? I feel sick, I am so disgusted. I am angry with myself that I even needed to read all this to be able to accept that it was true. I was really trying to give both of them the benefit of the doubt assuming these types of stories are often exaggerated but wow, was I way way off. He definitely deserves to be locked up but she also really needs some serious help and I hope her family intervenes on her behalf. Young women especially need to know that you do NOT GO BACK to a guy who puts his hands on you EVER and that one act of violence one is too many. There is no excuse and if in time she has a big enough heart to forgive him one day, that is her prerogative, but she should never forget this and under no circumstances should she ever ever be alone with this man again. What a sad story this is. I still can’t believe it.

S, you are right, that is indeed a horrible thing to say. Rihanna needs counseling, not more beating. Unless you are in her position, you don’t really know what she’s going through. What if Chris Brown threatened to kill her if she didn’t renege on her accusations? We just don’t know the whole story. Hopefully, with the help of her friends and family (excluding her father), she will be convinced to move on from him and get help for herself.

I dunnnno..thats alot of punching/beating while driving and when he stopped the vehicle why didn’t she get out and run?? She took the key out and sat on it? Uhm if I was getting punched over and over, and was afraid he was going to kill me I would get the fuck out of there ASAP. Well Denise I am saying that when the car stopped she had an opportunity to get out of the situation but chose to take the key out of the ignition and sit on it(staying in the vehicle). I wasn’t there and after reading the horrible account given by Rihanna I have to wonder why she did that, and if she continued fighting even though she had a chance to escape.

You don’t know if she had the opportunity to get out of the situation when the car stopped! Were you there? Neither was I, but it’s possible that he had the child safety lock on the car, so she couldn’t escape. Please don’t sit in judgment of this poor battered woman, and insinuate that she had other options but stayed there purposely and took the beating.

As for the rest of you who are ragging on Rihanna for taking him back, please give the girl a break. She is very weak right now, and needs encouragement to get help for herself, not people criticizing her after all she’s been through. It is hard for a strong woman to understand how someone could forgive her abuser and go back for more, but remember, Rihanna is obviously not strong, but very vulnerable and needs psychological help.

MeGs…The doors were probably locked, her seat belt was probably still on, etc. Im slightly positive that if you were within a foot of a large man beating the life out of you, unlocking the doors, undoing your seatbelt, finding the door handle, and opening the door all while bleeding, in pain, and trying to protect yourself from blows to the head isn’t an easy feat. Im sure in the few seconds she managed to get the keys away, all she could think of was stopping him from getting them back.

Wow this is such a sad account of what happened. This is such a disgusting situation, my heart literally aches for Rihanna.
Regardless of what Rihanna decides to do, I hope the State of California contnues to press charges against Chris Brown. Regardless of what Rihanna could have done to “anger” him, there is no way that he should have assaulted her.
This is so incredibly disturbing, and I hope he suffers for this.

I know from personal experience that it is easy to justify being mistreated and to think that bad situations like that will never happen again. But they always do. And as girls, we want to forgive and fix things but things like this are not fixable. He can only fix himself. Hopefully she can be forced to move on by him being incarcerated. SO SAD!

This is just so tragic. I think the amount of abuse she put up with during this incident alone, proves that this isnt the first time she put up with the abuse. I grew up in a home where my father did many things like this to my mother. It’s so difficult for them to leave. So hard for the victims to walk away. Even during the assault. I knew she would get back together with him, although I hoped that media pressure would prevent her from doing so. Clearly they BOTH need counseling on how to deal with this situation. They certainly do not belong together, and I dont think her family is supporting her decision to get back together with him, I think they dont want to alienate themselves by telling her what to do, they just support her and are allowing her to make her own decision, No doubt they have madedtheir opinions heard, how could you not? The whole world has an opinion.
I do think Chris Brown needs to pay for his actions, some jail time would be great. So serious counseling is important. Wooooooooooooooooooooow is all I can say really. Goodluck to both of them in their personal lives. Regardless of who is right and wrong they both have some serious issues to deal with. I doubt Chris Brown will really have a career after this, so hopefully someone helps him deal with his issues sooner then later or the poor women that have to date him after the spotlights stop shining.

He’s disgusting and they both need help. What saddens me aside from her injuries, is that Rhianna has been a role model for so many young women. The fact that she’s possibly reconciled with him is just devestating. Young women are going to hear about this and see that she took him back and on some level think this is OK to suffer this kind of abuse if your in “love.” I used to be in an emotionally abusive relationship and I didn’t leave until I hit rock bottom. This sounds pretty bad…hopefully Rhianna’s rock bottom isn’t death :( This is a good time to start dialogue with teens about domestic abuse.

Abusive relationships are much more than physical violence, it is so much more. Just ask Tina Turner, it isn’t easy to leave someone that has that kind of control over you. It breaks my heart to think that she went back to him, but she needs our support to get away, not condemnation. I can’t believe people are saying she could have gotten out. When you take a few blows to the head it isn’t like you can think clearly! It sounds like she was fighting for her life, defending her poor battered body with everything she could. How people can be so judgemental to someone who is so clearly a victim is beyond me.
I can’t believe that someone actually said they hope she gets beaten again. You must have a very black soul and nothing going on in your life to wish such a viscious thing on someone you do not know. You are a disgrace to humanity.

People on here keep questioning Rihanna and her “reasoning.” An abuser isn’t just an “abuser”– he’s a CONTROLLER. He’s controlling EVERYTHING. When you’re in an abusive relationship, they essentially brainwash you. It’s SO sad and unfair and takes YEARS AND YEARS of therapy to be deprogrammed. This woman is not weak, she’s not stupid, but she is being controlled by her lover, and I hope to God that she’s able to escape this control. It took me 4 years.
To say that she DESERVES to be beat up for going back to him, S, shows your lack of understanding and education about the trauma that survivors of domestic abuse sustain. I hope you one day gain empathy to understand people who’ve been through lots of different trials and that you’ll be less quick to judge.

I’m done with CB too.. it just disgusts me to see him or hear his songs. I believe the judge today was a female so (not trying to be sexist) I think there might be more of a chance of jail time there. I really hope that the judicial system takes this opportunity to make CB an example for everyone else who chooses to beat their significant others.. you make that choice (not a mistake) and you pay the consequences.

Um… holy shit… you know since this happened people have been jumping on sides and whatnot but most of the people I’ve talked to remained steadfast that they wouldn’t make any judgements on this since we didn’t actually know what happened, myself included. After choosing to read this report I am shocked and appalled by the actions of Chris Brown. How dare he think treating someone like a punching bag is okay? I for the life of me cannot understand why she would be willing to take his calls let alone actually spend a weekend with him as she did, seeing as how in her report she claims he tried to cut off her airway. Unbelievable. I respect Chris Brown as an artist for his musical talents but I definitely lost respect for him as a person and hope he is given whatever he deserves. As for Rihanna I hope that she too can learn to maybe have a little more respect for herself. No matter how much I love someone and no matter how much they say they can change, the actions of her boyfriend are inexcusable and she should stand up for that and tell him where to go with himself!

People in abusive relationships typically develop feelings of inferiority and worthlessness; some people just give up and allow bad things to happen because they have self-depricated themselves into believing that they are useless. I still don’t want to judge CB because I don’t know him, and he could be terribly sorry for what he did. However, this was clearly not an “accident.” I just pray that she’s okay and that she realizes how talented and incredible she is. No one should ever have to go through what she’s been through.

To Chris who says you can’t drive and hit someone at the same time – yes, you can. my stepfather did it to my mother while he was driving full speed, my friend’s boyfriend did it to her while driving on the freeway. From what I understand, Rihanna and that douchebag were in Hancock Park, a quiet neighborhood where you don’t have to be driving very fast because there are barely any cars around. How do you know how fast he was going? ANYWAY, I can’t believe ppl are asking all these stupid questions, one look at that picture of Rihanna should tell you everything you need to know. Until society stops making excuses for cowards who hit women hard enough to leave a mark, violence and domestic abuse will never end. Please WAKE UP !!!

none of us was in that car…and noone besides the two of them will ever know what really happened…but if this account was actually given by RIhanna herself same night it happened, the account (whether she testifies or not) coupled with the police photo will most likely convict Chris. physical abuse is never an isolated incident and it may be better for Rihanna if he goes to jail and she doesnt have a choice on whether or not to be him..

I absolutely have lost all respect for Chris Brown. This disgusts me. He deserves to go to jail, and I hope it’s not one of those 80 minute sentences that celebrities sometimes seem to get. I don’t think you should mess around with this stuff- he deserves to go to jail for a good while.

While it’s very easy to say that you would run away or fight back if placed in that situation yourself, your instincts at that time can tell you to do something completely different. Personally, my instinct was to wall off my emotions and not do anything to make it worse. Being at a physical disadvantage like that is very intimidating and sometimes “playing dead” is all that stops that particular altercation.
I really hope she leaves him. He’s past the point of trying to hide any of this, i’m afraid he would kill her next time.

Let’s see what Chris Brown’s version says before everyone jumps to conclusions about him being the scum of the Earth. Rihanna’s version sounds a little one-sided – not to say it is not true – but I suspect there was probably more to the story (unless Brown is really just a psycho). If you read the document, you’ll see that Brown essentially continued punching Rihanna for the entire time (if that were true she would still be in hospital right now), including while driving with one hand and while she managed to use the phone and text people. Still, even if just half of that were true he deserves to go to prison, and Rihanna’s an idiot for sticking with him.

I’m torn on this..while I completely agree that Chris is in the wrong and it’s bullshizz that he would do this. argh. i really don’t get it. in the beginning i was raelly on the fence with these two. i honestly thought that people were jumping to conclusions, and that while i TOTALLY agree that no one has a right to touch another person… maaaybe just maybe, rihanna was either ‘asking for it’ or had faked it in one way or another. coz you don’t know what REALLY happened………. First, Chris Brown is a douche as my name states, for hitting women. Second, he was heard saying it was all good when one of his body guards asked him what he thought about his hearing, and showed no sign of remorse for what he did. I hope he does get charged for what he did and gets the 56 months of jail time.

It makes me sick to my stomach to read what she went through that night. Even more so, to know that after all of that she could forgive him and take him back. I just don’t get it. From what I read I really doubt this is the first time he’s done this, and I know it won’t be the last. Makes me angry to think that other girls facing a similar situation of domestic violence could be reading this and thinking “well if she could forgive him, I guess I could too”. While I’m totally appalled to read Rhianna’s account of what happened that night, I’m almost just as appalled to read the reactions that some people have had to the situation. It literally makes me sick to read people’s comments that she deserved it if she’s going back to it or that she’s stupid to go back, etc. Attitudes like this allow abusive behaviors to continue. For everyone saying that she is a disgrace to all of her fans and to all women who will now think that it is okay to go back to an abusive partner… your words are just as hurtful. Most likely a person who is an abusive intimate relationship is going to return to that relationship or has returned to that relationship regardless of what Rhianna chooses to do… however reading comments such as these will most likely make them feel ashamed for doing so and continue to lower their self esteem which does not give them the motivation to get out of the abuse.
Intimate partner violence is NOT a clear cut situation. It is not as simple as ‘my partner abuses me, I’m going to leave” It’s horrible, but it is the truth. Many people stay because they do not have the financial resources to leave, for Rhianna this probably isn’t true but that does not make it any easier to leave. Abusers are controlling and manipulative. They will isolate their partner from their friends and family and make it very very difficult to leave. A lot of the time they will appear like the nicest person to people outside of the relationship. And they will shower the person with apologies and gifts and promises to never do it again. It’s a cycle and it’s very very difficult to break out of.
Also, it may very well be Rhianna’s safest option at the moment to remain in the relationship. The most dangerous point in an abusive relationship is when a person decides to leave because the abuser is losing their control. The majority of intimate partner homicides happen when the person being abused decides to leave. The same goes for why Rhianna might not have fought back while they were in the car… it’s a survival tactic. Often not reacting is the way to incur the least amount of harm… the same reason why animals will play dead. It’s not fight or flight… it’s really fight, flight or freeze.
What Rhianna needs right now is support and encouragement. She needs to hear that it is not her fault and that she is a strong woman. Only she can make the decision to leave this relationship and only when she is ready.
