i know what chris brown did was out of order and shouldnt be allowed but to be honest the publicity does not know the full story. i am certainly not saying that there is a good enough reason for a male to put his hands on a women but something must have set chris off to make him do such horrible things. i believe that everyone deserves a second chance! chris may have gone badly wrong but it seems that he is truly sorry and wants to make up for what he haas done to rihanna. we all make mistakes, and i also think it is out of order for people to speak about chris in such a negative way as none of us truly know what he is like. if rihanna has chosen to take him back then she must be in love and must believe that he has changed and didnt mean what he has done to them. so i wish them all the best and think the publicity and media should stay out of there business whilst they get there life back on track. even though chris and rihanna are very famous artist they are still human and will make mistakes in life which they are not proud of, we can not judge chris over this. i really do disagree what he done to her but i personally think he does have seriously anger management problems which needs to worked on, but i am going to carry on supporting and being fans of the 2 singers because what happens in there personal life has nothing to do with me or anyone else but themselves. so how about everyone keeps there nose out, and concentrate on there music and nothing else. (:

I am so tired of people acting like they are so high and mighty everyone has done something that they are not proud of but we are allowed the opportunity to deal with our shame without public scrutiny. Our society loves to tear people down and that is what is truly disgusting. How many other famous people have beaten their wives or girlfriends???????????

It began as something that people felt disgust towards him for, but the way she decided to proceed with the whole thing seems to have extended that public disgust on to her. I realise we don’t know the full story and may never do, but I imagine survivors of physical abuse all over the world are probably feeling even a small speckle of betrayal by this lack of interest in her part on getting his actions punished. In some ways, justifiably so. They’re both role models regardless of whether they chose to be that particular role – when choosing to be a celebrity through their exposure as musicians, they automatically became role models. It’s not something they have a say in. You can’t just get the millions from your hit singles without responsibility, that’s BS. A select number of young people all over the world are potentially going to think nothing of physically abusing and being abused now. Great job guys. Clearly shows that perhaps there SHOULD be an age/maturity limit to show biz.

domestic violence is still ‘socially acceptable’ …

thank God they don’t have a kid around like me who witnessed this BS….I’m so glad the mainstream media is realizing just how serious domestic violence is and how many people suffer from its consequences. There is NO excuse. These are VERY sick people who need help and no one should judge…they need help.

Spice- I agree with you. Everyone is jumping on Rihanna but can any of you guys imagine what must be going on inside her head? The one person she thought loved her beat the shit out of her. That’s so sad. And it’s completely normal for her to be rationalizing his behavior and defending him to herself, and maybe even to the public. It sucks, but I wish people wouldn’t say things like “I am disgusted with them both.” Everyone keeps saying how suprised they are that he did this…don’t you think she is too? And dont you think she wishes it didn’t happen? And in her current state of mind (extremely stressed and probably under alot of pressure) do you think it makes her a bad person to try her best to pretend nothing happened? She doesn’t know what to do, and if you’re a fan of hers at all, she needs your support to get herself out of this mess.

The fact her family can’t get in contact with her now, is a bad sign (classic isolating of the victim) … I think there is major pressure on them from the people around them, who want all this to LOOK better and for it all to go away (for the sake of career and $$$) … We shouldn’t forget how young they are, hence (easily influenced) by the people whispering in their ears. I also wonder what P. Diddy and other celebs in contact with them, have told them? These celebs are not known for their fantastic judgement.

I get the feeling Chris Brown will ultimately get away with this, then use this as a chance to return with a ‘bad boy’ image and harder music style (and fans will buy it). They always do.

for some reason i just cant believe everything im hearing about this whole story.
i mean we dont know exactly how it started.
Why Rihanna was looking in his phone ? Why did Chris get so mad ? Were the two drinking ?
rihanna or her representatives havent come out and said exactly what REALLY happened.
I do believe there is no excuse for abuse but I also believe dont believe everything you read or hear . .

I don’t think its fair to punish Rihanna by not listening to her music anymore, and judging her because she is seemingly back with CB. Its HER life and she can do what ever she wants during her personal time-who are we to judge????She is NOT a poster child for domestic abuse, she is an INDIVIDUAL. NO ONE KNOWS THEIR LIFE TOGETHER! we are just assuming and drawing our own conclusions based on what the media is providing. If anything Rihanna is one of the more private celebrities out there, and all of this public drama is probably making things so much harder on her….We need to back off. This is the last time I’ll comment on this subject because I now realize that all of this is very wrong, just because she is a public figure doesn’t give us the right to dictate her decisions or say whats right or wrong….no one knows the whole story but THEM! I do have my own thoughts on the situation but I realize that its pointless to try and understand what happened that night. She was beaten and for that I hope CB is punished and gets the help he needs. I believe in second chances, and I do not believe Rihanna is in danger. Good luck to both of them in the months ahead!!!

While their careers are the least of their worries I cannot imagine what this will do to both their record sales. I have already erased the few songs of Chris Brown’s off my ipod and the even fewer songs of Rihanna. I won’t listen to the music of a man who would do what Chris Brown did and I can’t listen to the music of a woman who would go back to him after what he did to her, when there are so many other options offered to her than many of the women who are abused.

As strange as it sounds her public image alone gives her some bit of safety. I am sickened with both stars and I pray that Brown will be put in jail and Rihanna will come to her senses.

Having volunteered at battered womens’ shelter, Trent, I can say that you are correct — abuse of this magnitude is rarely the first offense. I would be very surprised if there wasn’t a long history of slaps and increasingly more violent punches in Chris and Rihanna’s past. Rihanna’s taking him back is also sadly not uncommon for an abused woman.

If her report is to be believed (which I do), Chris could have very well near killed her. If she doesn’t get away from him soon, he could. After all, if he got away with this much, why should he stop now?

Last night on Larry King Live they were talking about this case, and they played a clip from Rihanna’s “Umbrella” video. The words have a new, eerie meaning now: “Said I’ll always be your friend, took an oath, I’ma stick it out to the end.” I pray right along with you, Trent. I pray that these words won’t ring true and she won’t meet her end at the hands of this abuser.

Sad thing is, they both seemed so happy and normal. You never know what happens between closed doors. She seems so strong and confident, but she’s obviously not so much and desperately needs help to see that she doesn’t need to go back to someone who treats her like that.

It just hit me thanks to JU-JU BEAN I didn’t think about the example Chris Brown is setting for other men!WOW that’s such a powerful thought! Iam sure there are men out there watching and are on Brown’s side, I agree I think the very best thinghe could do is man up and admitt and take the punishment and get the help he needs. Iam ways dissappointed in her for not cooperating with the courts! Maybe others are making her decions. I had another very alaming thought maybe Brown did threaten to kill her or her family if she doesn’t go along with what he wants could he be that visious??? Maybe that’s just too hollywood-ish I need to lay off the tv!!
