Well … she did it. Britney Spears successfully performed the opening night show of her new tour The Circus starring Britney Spears in front of a sold out house at the New Orleans Area in New Orleans, LA last night. I did my best to stay away from as many spoilers from the show as I could so as not to ruin the experience for me weeks before I get to see her on stage for myself … and there were a lot of spoilers flying around as the show took place last night. THIS Twitter profile, created specifically for Britney‘s tour, provided almost minute-by-minute updates from the show. I chose not to read the posts. But the photos, well, those I could not pass up:

In order to NOT SPOIL the experience for those of you who wish to remain unspoiled, I have put all photos from last night’s show behind the cut. And while I did my best to stay unspoiled myself, I couldn’t help but look at a few photos. Additionally, BreatheHeavy.com posted a few new sketches (created by costume designers Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared) of some of Britney‘s amazing tour costumes, which I’ve also hidden behind the cut. After the jump, check out a few photos from Britney Spears‘s opening night performance in NoLA last night as well as a look at a few amazing sketches from her tour costumes — BE WARNED: Spoilers Ahead …

Since I’ve refrained from looking at the setlist that was made available yesterday, I have no idea which photos go with which songs. But, I have to say, I really love all of these pics. The show looks so fun, I cannot wait to see it for myself. I love that she is flying on the handle of that umbrella … it reminds me of the part in the (U Drive Me) Crazy Tour when she flew out over the audience on a magic carpet. AHHH, this is so exciting. I am also going to refrain from reading any concert reviews from last night’s show … I’m not sure if I can stay away from all the fun show surprises in the weeks leading up to my first concert next month but I’m sure gonna try.
Here are a few sketches that were created by designers Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared that show the costumes they created exclusively for Britney‘s new tour:

OY! I can’t take it … so much amazingness all at once. I’ve been hearing from a few Pink readers who were in the hiz last night and by all accounts, Britney put on a stunningly entertaining show. I CANNOT WAIT to see it when the Circus comes to town here in LA next month. Much love and best wishes goes out to Britney as her tour continues to make its way around the country. I knew she could do it, I knew that this day would come. Britney‘s back, stronger and ready to take the world by storm … again :)

she was AMAZZZZZZZZINGGGGG
It really was a cirucs…..there was like zero downtime.
Goodluck on trying not to be spoiled for a month, hahaha
how accurate was that set list, from anyone who went to the concert last night???
Trent you should’ve went to NO to see the show! You are one of her biggest fans – always stood by her…now you have to wait to see it all and avoid info…yikes!
:)
I wish she was doing a show in San Diego! It looks like it was amazing. :)
Why is everyone bitching about the God damn lipsycnhing? GET OVER IT! Even when Britney was at her absolute best she still did it so we even bitch about it? I would rather hear a popstar lipsynching while dancing rather than trying to do both and gasp for air and breathe loud noises in the mic which is annoying. Get over it, people.
oh britney. love it. glad to see she’s back. =)
the stage kind of reminds of of JT’s futuresex set tho… does anyone kno if there are any similarities in the directors or anything??
Kristin i have to remind you to look at the video when Madonna fell she did not miss a beat and the voice did not even flinch yes she lip sync’s, I have seen Rhianna 3 rows away and yes she lip sync, and finally Nelly Futado again lip sync. Basically most of them do because they are trying to put on a show and it is exhausting work. I give props to all I dont think I could do it.
@ Chase, I agree!! What does it matter if she lip sync’s, It’s the show that matters!:D It looks absolutely amazing, wish she went to Europe!
Beyonce is another lypsyncher. But she plays it smart adn pre-records her vocals.
I heard on the radio that she doesnt sing any song live, which i think is sad. But i hear she put on an amaaaazing show.
Saw the show, which was visually stunning. Brit Brit on the other hand is still a mess. She is out of shape, can’t dance like she used to and even screwed up lipsynching! She is done and that is sad, but maybe she should focus on her kids and raise her babies.
i wanted to go see this soooooooooooo much, but i live in australia. :(
HA!! Most annoying and Britney comment goes to: :drum roll:
“Britney should focus on her babies!”
It’s a bit sexist. She clearly can afford a ton of childcare, and the K-nannyof course. heck, worry about Octomoms kids. or does anyone tell all the rockstars and rappers to “focus on your babies” No. because it’s okay for them to be absent from their kids lives.,\ barf. heck, some people are already forgiving Chris Brown town. think about the stones you throw
im not to be mean to brit…but i watched some this concert on youtube, and it looked like she did alot of walking around and when she did actually dance…it was horrible. it was her mini shows all over again, the stage looked nice, but overall… not too excited for when i go to the Toronto show.
I LOVE Brit. I watched a little on Youtube and I did see a lot of walking. BUT I love her, and she’s hot, AND… it was the very first night of her tour. She’s bound to be crazy nervous and of course people’s expectations are SO high at this point. I think part of the problem is her shoes. Yes, they are sexy for strutting, but on her old tours where she busted out the crazy dance moves she was always wearing wedges, not stilettos. It makes a big difference as far as balance goes. Also, I don’t give a crap if she lip syncs, we all knew she would, or at least sing over the tracks, so why are we still having this argument. We know she does it, if you don’t like it, don’t watch it or go to her concerts.
