Well … she did it. Britney Spears successfully performed the opening night show of her new tour The Circus starring Britney Spears in front of a sold out house at the New Orleans Area in New Orleans, LA last night. I did my best to stay away from as many spoilers from the show as I could so as not to ruin the experience for me weeks before I get to see her on stage for myself … and there were a lot of spoilers flying around as the show took place last night. THIS Twitter profile, created specifically for Britney‘s tour, provided almost minute-by-minute updates from the show. I chose not to read the posts. But the photos, well, those I could not pass up:

In order to NOT SPOIL the experience for those of you who wish to remain unspoiled, I have put all photos from last night’s show behind the cut. And while I did my best to stay unspoiled myself, I couldn’t help but look at a few photos. Additionally, BreatheHeavy.com posted a few new sketches (created by costume designers Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared) of some of Britney‘s amazing tour costumes, which I’ve also hidden behind the cut. After the jump, check out a few photos from Britney Spears‘s opening night performance in NoLA last night as well as a look at a few amazing sketches from her tour costumes — BE WARNED: Spoilers Ahead …

Since I’ve refrained from looking at the setlist that was made available yesterday, I have no idea which photos go with which songs. But, I have to say, I really love all of these pics. The show looks so fun, I cannot wait to see it for myself. I love that she is flying on the handle of that umbrella … it reminds me of the part in the (U Drive Me) Crazy Tour when she flew out over the audience on a magic carpet. AHHH, this is so exciting. I am also going to refrain from reading any concert reviews from last night’s show … I’m not sure if I can stay away from all the fun show surprises in the weeks leading up to my first concert next month but I’m sure gonna try.
Here are a few sketches that were created by designers Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared that show the costumes they created exclusively for Britney‘s new tour:

OY! I can’t take it … so much amazingness all at once. I’ve been hearing from a few Pink readers who were in the hiz last night and by all accounts, Britney put on a stunningly entertaining show. I CANNOT WAIT to see it when the Circus comes to town here in LA next month. Much love and best wishes goes out to Britney as her tour continues to make its way around the country. I knew she could do it, I knew that this day would come. Britney‘s back, stronger and ready to take the world by storm … again :)

Love it! I think she is back to the Britney we love! I think that all this stuff about this being too stressful for her is not true…this is where she thrives! Rock on Brit!
Looks awesome!! I wish I was seeing her!!
OMG, i cant wait…March 20th!!!
I was at the show last night and Brit did a fantastic job! Dancers, costumes, choreography, everything was amazing. She showed how GRITS (Girls Raised In The South) do it! Wooooooot britney!
I CAN NOT WAIT!!!
Can’t wait to see her show in NJ…. I am so excited to see her doing great on stage!!! Go Brit, she is back bitches
OMG that girl has some AMAZING quads!! Props to her for getting SO in shape! She’s worked so hard, and I wish her all the best!!!
LAST NIGHT WAS AMAZINGGG !! The set was amazing and she did a fantastic job. We’re glad she’s back :D
YAY i can’t wait to see the Circus in DC!!
You keep mixing up the tours Trent! lol. She flies out on a magic carpet for the Crazy Tour… which in your defense was RIGHT before the Oops Tour. lol
@Devin — omg, that long ago? So the Oops! Tour had her flying up with those massive, multicolored wings … right? So many great tour moments … thanks!!
Oh and if you were curious, the reviews have all been GREAT, except for People Magazine. Damn them!
The silly Today show was complaining that she lip synced; but they were set straight that EVERYONE except for Broadway lip syncs. Kathie Lee said she wanted to sing accapella and they wouldn’t let her. :-) Why’s everyone up in a tissy about it? Just enjoy the SHOW!
Wow I’m very proud of her! She has made a HUGE turn around! Alot of people say that she isn’t good anymore and don’t like her but WOOT WOOT!! GO BRIT!!!! Hahahahaha I would like to see one of her concerts but sorry can’t! Sux major! But I’m glad that she’s performing again=)
I hope they show it as a special or something on MTV or VH1… Britney doesn’t do shows here in the Bahamas and I would love to see her performance!!
@Megan, I have to disagree. Everyone does not lip sync on tour. I saw Justin Timberlake and Prince and they DID NOT lip sync. I think it is lame that she lip syncs the whole show — her voice obvs isn’t good enough to sing live otherwise she would have done it. I didn’t see Madonna on her recent tour but I have to imagine that she did not lip sync either!!!
wowowowowowowowow!!!
