Bristol Palin & Levi Johnston Are Dunzo!

Levi's sister dishes to 'Star' magazine
March 11th, 2009

Welp, it looks like there has been another loss for the Palin family. According to Mercede Johnston, sister of babydaddy Levi Johnston, Bristol Palin and Levi are no longer together since Bristol has reportedly cut him out of their baby boy Tripp’s life. Apparently, they’re dunzo, y’all!

The teen love affair that rocked last year’s presidential race is over. Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol, has ditched her baby daddy, Levi Johnston! Now’s Levi’s sister, Mercede is telling all exclusively to Star and the picture she paints of life in Wasilla, Alaska is not a pretty one. Bristol, 18, has virtually cut Levi out of the life of their two-month-old son Tripp. “Levi tries to visit Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible. She tells him he can’t take the baby to our house because she doesn’t want him around ‘white trash’!” Bristol won’t even allow him to watch the baby for a few hours — unless he’s babysitting! The worst part, Mercede continues, is that the former vice presidential candidate supports Bristol’s treatment of Levi, 19. “I used to love Sarah,” Mercede says sadly. “But I’ve lost lots of respect for her.”

Say it ain’t so!! I guess this break-up was to be expected. After the McCain/Palin ticket (blessedly) lost the presidential election, I figured it was only a matter of time before Levi’s usefulness started and wane and the poor kid could be sent off to pasture. Except for his being cut out of his son’s young life (allegedly), I’d think this news would be good for Levi:

According to Star magazine, the break-up got really dramatic … there was even a “hate-filled text message” from Bristol to Levi (isn’t there always a text message involved these days?) and there is a plan in place by the Johnston family to win access to baby Tripp! Oh my! Honestly, I’m not all that invested in the relationship between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston but their unplanned teen pregnancy was such a thing last year … I think this story gives a nice sense of closure. I had almost forgot about these strange people who live in that far away place called Alaska.

    People in glass houses…
Really, who didn’t see this coming?

  2. nat Says:

Closure for whom?…..since there is a baby involved, and for the next 18 years+ those 2 families will have to find a way to do what is best for the kid. If them trying to force a marriage between two “kids” was a sign of the things to come I feel awful for that little guy. Hopefully they can do what is best for him, now that grandma is “temporarily” out of the political limelight.

  3. E Says:

Oh wow I’m like totally so shocked.
    …Note the sarcasm.

  4. MeGs Says:

Haha the t-shirt pic (Free Levi) is hilarious!!

  5. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

    @nat — closure for us/me.

  6. kait Says:

not to take pleasure in someone else’s pain, but…hahah. haha. ha. hahaha. haaahahahaha. idiots.

  7. kittycatastrophe Says:

This worked out the way it usually does when you have teenagers and unplanned pregnancies. I hope this doesn’t turn into a game of “keep away” when it comes to the kid and his father. The Palin Clan doesn’t have a good track record when it comes to leaving couples to sort out their own messes considering what they got up to with the ex-brother-in-law.

  8. lucy Says:

Wow who would have thought that a teenage guy wouldn’t be father material. I think she will be ok though, after helping raise the other baby, whoever he belongs to. I saw some of her interview and she seems mature enough. Eh, I really don’t care. I guess it is a good example to other kids? Like be more careful and don’t expect your little teenage baby daddy to stick around?

  9. Winona Says:

Totally not surprised. Even if they were out of the public spotlight, they’d still have a lot of tough times ahead and not many relationships can survive that when the two involved are so young. I hate to say I feel for them a bit, but oh well…

  10. Beth Says:

aren’t you being a little quick to jump on the Evil Bristol Bandwagon? This is at best, half of a he said/she said with his sister doing all the talking. If they actually did break up, the sister could have her own ax to grind against Bristol or Sarah. Who knows the other side of the story. (I only say this because I also do not allow my kids to go to my in laws house because of their drug addicted son who lives there. In my opinion it is not a safe environment for my kids to be around and yes, I too have used the phrase “white trash” in reference to them. They tell everyone who will listen how evil I am and that nothing would EVER happen to my kids over there) Don’t be so quick to jump on Bristol. It is her mom you have issue with, but none really with Bristol herself.

  11. Karly Says:

Trent I love you and respect your opinion but your disgust for the Palin family is very annoying. You don’t have to like them but you don’t have to trash them either.

  12. Z Says:

Going along w/ what Beth said, wasn’t Levi’s mom arrested for pot possession? Regardless, it’s a really sad situation for those kids – all 3 of them.

  13. jadedsweetie Says:

you have to admit, the “white trash” insult is a bit ironic.

  14. Oscar Miami Beach Says:

Everybody knew just for the looks of the family that they were white trash. Also that Bristol was a floosie. The other little kid was also her but to save face Sarah, the mother, said it was hers.Thank God,she was not elected as VP.The whole Palin family are a disgrace to the USA.The expensive clothes hoolabaloo, the low class behavior and the husbands using RP money for his own needs spells opportunists and user people.Obviously mooses have more decency than the Governor of Alaska and her family.Ugh,disgusting.

  15. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Karly — exactly how did I “trash” them?

  16. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Beth — I’m not jumping on anyone, I’m merely passing along the info.

  17. Belle Says:

I think I’d pretty thrilled if I was Levi. He can get the time he deserves with his son (if he handles the custody issues in court), without having Sarah Palin as a MIL! (Personally, I think I’d much rather fight my battle in court than have Palin as a MIL…)

  18. fuzzbeans Says:

Forget the idiot babyparents, put the kid up for adoption so he has a chance at a normal childhood!

  19. HuH! Says:

The Palin family (specifically the white trash parents of Bristol) have gone around trashing all kinds of minority groups. Yes – we have every right to trash these ignorant, homophobic, racist bigots. And to think that this could have been our Vice-President. The whole situation says soooo much about “family values”, doesn’t it?

  20. Blair Says:

Bristol is such a stupid name. Its the name of a town in the UK. Sarah Palin is an idiot.

  21. HuH! Says:

But who would want to adopt the baby if they knew where it came from? Poor baby.

  22. anna Says:

ugg. get off of Sarah Palin and her family already. your so ill informed about them. and “far off place called Alaska” puuullleeassee…. This information isnt even legit. Tasteless!

  23. Tralfaz Says:

What a bunch of trashy skanks.

  24. Tralfaz Says:

Oh I see one of Palin’s little army of idiots has shown up.

  25. B Says:

People. Bristol Palin must be stoned to death as God has commanded in the Bible. I hope Sarah Palin is a true Christian and will follow through with this.

  26. frank Says:

I always thought that if Palin wasn’t elected that Levi would get his own reality show. It’d be more interesting than half the Kardashians and Flavor of Love combined!

  27. HuH! Says:

I forgot about the stoning that needs to be done. Who is supposed to do the stoning?

  28. Tralfaz Says:

    I’ll provide the stones.

“you have to admit, the “white trash” insult is a bit ironic.”

Actually jadedsweetie, I believe the word that you are looking for is hypocritical.

  30. HuH! Says:

OK – so Marc Sweetie – We are all a bit white trash (Republicans – more so, however). But at least a few of us know when we are acting white trash. The Palins know no different.

  31. Amanda Says:

Very insensitive Trent…there’s a baby involved and you have to imply that Levi was only around for political reasons? I know you may find it hard to believe, but Republicans have values too and want there to be two loving parents for a child. You tell that baby there is a “nice sense of closure” when he asks why he can’t see his father. Tasteless…I just can’t read your sight anymore.

  32. HuH! Says:

    Republicans have values?

  33. Michelle Says:

I guess I can’t say I’m suprised about the news. I always felt during the election that the Palin/McCain camp threw Levi in a suit and had him stand there next to his pregnant girlfriend and look happy and responsible and that everything was alright. They just looked so uncomfortable being in that spotlight that something like this was bound to happen sometime. If the report is accurate (how accurate is Star Magazine really?) then I do feel bad for the kid, who seems like he wants to see and spend time taking care of his son. I find the whole white trash thing actually kind of funny since Bristol obviously had no problem with dating and sleeping with him before! Oh those Alaskans… it’s a strange world up there! Best of luck to everyone!!

  34. Sportin' Life Says:

At least he got that nice suit out of the deal! LOL

  35. REYnoldo Says:

Oh dear. Amanda can’t read Trent’s “sight” anymore.

  36. sugaredpeas Says:

um, here’s the problem people and this is why Trent or anyone else gets to talk about this:

    (1) Sarah Palin ran to be VP of the US (and has made hints about running for the presidency in 2012) as a Republican;

    (2) Sarah Palin and the Republican Party only believe in ABSTINENCE ONLY education for teenagers (although there may be some dissenters, reasonable Republicans on these topics are few and far between and being hounded out of their party);

    (3) Sarah Palin’s child became pregnant as a teenager (presumably after being raised to believe in abstinence only);

    (4) ABSTINENCE ONLY EDUCATION DOESN’T WORK.

    (5) Sarah Palin is trying to impose a point of view on the nation about a policy that doesn’t work, that has really huge consequences for the teenagers who do become pregnant. Even if they are in a supportive family, like Bristol is, they may still have to raise the kid alone.

This is screwed up because there are millions of teenagers who don’t have such lucky situations. Therefore, we get to talk about this because it is a political issue that could very easily affect us all. That’s not trashing anyone. That’s about thinking about the world we live in and not just standing around mouth-breathing.

  37. Chella Says:

I gotta say I am not at all suprised, ok well maybe that it took so long to happen!! I. Don’t think its fair to the daddy the way her family are treating him that shit is wrong Palin is such a bi*ch!!

  38. Ter Says:

I have to agree with Amanda. I enjoy visiting this site, but there is a meanness to this post. Regardless of the politics which brought this situation to light, yet another baby from yet another broken home shouldn’t be used as a veil through which to comment on a politician. I’m not sure I’ll be able to view PITNB in the same vane any longer. You’re usually pretty empathetic and have been able to rise above the BS before; it’s a shame that politics have held you back in this instance. If any of this is true, I would pose the question: Did Levi ever get another job after quitting the oil fields? If not, it becomes easier to see where Bristol may or may not be coming from.

  39. Hannah Says:

When the Miley Cyrus thing came up, people here claimed they had never made fun of anyone else in a mean way or been offensive. mocking people in alaska and calling others white trash is mean and offensive. you might not think it is because you did it, but it displays the hypocrisy that so many peopel here have. I don’t like the palins either but you can’t say one thing and then do another.

  40. Belle Says:

sugaredpeas — very good explanation! Palin’s insistence on abstinence-only education is a little hard to swallow when she has a pregnant teenage daughter. People need to discuss the realities and difficulties of teenage parenthood, not just sweep it under the rug and continue thinking kids will never have sex if you tell them not to.

And no one is saying Bristol isn’t justified in dumping him (if she did). Both of them should be able to decide for themselves if their relationship works, NOT feel like they need to stay together just to present a nice family image for mom’s campaign.

  41. K Says:

Here’s the deal, I think Trent’s comments are hilarious. However, I also think that the situation makes its own punchline. As an aside, I must also say that as a resident of Alabama, I’m just thankful that those red-neck dumbasses aren’t from here.

  42. JJ Says:

@ Chella – try to sound a little more unintelligent, really! I think I’ll wait for something a little more credible than the Star to run this story before I’m buying into any of it. What’s funny is that people are surprised by ANYTHING politicians do anymore. Republican, Democrat, whatever, there are some serious ethical dilemmas on both sides.

  43. tatiana Says:

Some of you people really need to calm down. Did any REALLY think this s**t would last? I think the whole “engagement” thing was a sham (and you know it). They were getting married for the baby (and the presidency). It didnt work out, and now they’re not together anymore. GOOD. A child caught between two parents who hate each is not a good situation. Next.

  44. Joanne Says:

Check out (palingates.blogspot.com) – for an interesting look at all the lies the Palin family have spun …

  45. Jessica Says:

Not surprised. But why are we still talking the Palin family? And there are lots of single teenage parents out there, both democrat and republican, so this is not surprising or very news worthy. IMO.

  46. Bruce Says:

They should have kept the baby…and aborted the parents.

    ^^X^^

  47. Kent Says:

Levi and his sister Mercede both need an ’s’ at the end of their names… how did their parents miss that? Sheesh!
It’s weird that they are named after jeans and a car. I wonder what the other names are in their family – is everyone else named appliances? Electronics? Pet food?

  48. Andrea R. Says:

    Eh. Who cares?

  49. Shari Says:

Well, I live in Alaska and I wish I could forget about them:(( And of course it wasn’t going to last…I’m sure it’s better for the baby if he’s not around-ugh.

  50. Andrew Says:

To Sugaredpeas; Honey, ya want to talk about things that don’t work? The public school system used to teach reading, writing and arithmetic and leave the sex talk up to parents. Now we have some form of sex ed in almost every school in America. Do you care to take a guess at when we’ve had a higher teen pregnancy rate, before or after this phenomenon? If you want to talk about something that doesn’t work, let’s talk about taking money out of the private sector in the form of confiscatory tax rates in the hope that the public sector can create wealth and prosperity. That’s what Barry Obama supports and I have a hunch that you are an Obama voter. His policies have been tried time and time again down through world history. Central planning of an economy and collectivism do not work. Do you still think conservatives are “mouth breathers”? Debate me, pick the topic. I’ve never seen this blog before, but you’re swimming in a small pond. My little boy could win an argument with you. Bring it on, just don’t try to come off as some tolerant and enlightened person, because you already exposed who really are when you attacked a family that is going through a rough patch in life, involving their teenage daughter, simply because you don’t like their politics.
