All SxSWed Out
Yesterday was my last day in Austin, TX but before I boarded my plane back to LA, I got to spend a bit of time with my friend Rachel and her crew before we all departed for home. Rachel suggested we go for pizza at Mellow Mushroom because she said it was the best pizza she’d ever had … and I gotta admit, it was pretty freakin’ good. We met up at the pizza place for a quick lunch and then walked over to a place called Toy Joy. Again, on Rachel’s recommendation, we checked out the toy store and had a blast. Here are a few pics that I snapped yesterday:

The store was fun, I picked up a few small gifts to bring home and a fun time was had by all. But by early afternoon, it was time to say goodbye to Austin. My flight home was pretty uninteresting … that is, until I had to change planes in San Jose, CA and get on a tiny jet for the last leg of the trip. The damn thing was small … and it made me real nervous … but, thankfully, the flight was quick and totally painless. It was really nice coming home to David. SxSW was really fun but it was nice to be home again.
I have to give a shout-out to Pink reader Betsy who I met at the Red Bull Moon Tower party on Saturday night:

It was really great to meet and take a photo with her :)
Later on this evening, David and I have been invited to preview Prince’s new albums one week ahead of their release in Target stores next Tuesday March 29. I’m very excited. I hope to be able to Tweet thru the album preview … if not, I’ll deffo be taking notes to share. Woot!!!

Did you buy that plastic “hairpiece”? If so, can you tell me who makes it. I saw something similar in Six Flags Over Texas (Dallas) and never bought it. Now I can’t find anything similar to that and want to give it as a gag gift to a friend.
Thanks!

Love the t-shirt!!! I’m so bad I LIVE in Detroit….. (well, the ‘burbs, but you get the gist.) If we can live through the auto industry black hole and Kwame, we can survive anything!
Austin looks like a great town – thanks for taking us along.

Toy Joy is the best. I was there Wednesday evening with friends, and then again Thursday night for a quick trip to pick up stuff I missed the day before. Sorry I didn’t see you there!

I literally live 100 yards from Toy Joy – just across the street! Best neighborhood in the US!

I used to live down the street from Toy Joy! Glad you got to experience some of The Drag. I’ve personally never been to Mellow Mushroom, but I’ll have to try it out. I’m more of a Mangia’s Pizza and Double Dave’s girl myself.
