John Mayer Sets Sail On His Lurve Boat

Brings along 3,000 of his closest fans
Saturday, March 28th, 2009

John Mayer hit the high seas with a boatload of fans, literally, as his Mayercraft Carrier 2 sailed out on its second annual 4-day cruise from California to Mexico yesterday. As you may recall, last year Mayer word a Borat-inspired green mankini thong on the cruise to the delight/horror of his Mayercraft passengers but this year he had something a bit different in store for his guests … but we’ll get to that in moment. Here are a few photos of John’s first performance aboard the Mayercraft Carrier yesterday … you will note that John opted for nice, see-thru tank top so that all could get a nice peek at his nips:

I have to admit, this cruise thing sounds really fun and I’m sure it’s a real treat for John Mayer fans to get to enjoy a cruise with him. The fact that he performs every single night is just … brilliant! I’m not a huge John Mayer fan musically (tho, I do like many of his songs) but I can see how big fans would love an event like this. Trust me, if Tori Amos did this sort of thing you better believe I’d be there year after year.

To welcome his guests aboard his ship this year, John wore an extra special outfit for the occasion. After the jump, check out the getup that he wore on board yesterday to get the party started …

Jake Gyllenhaal’s Gun Show

Why, hello there!
Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Here are a few photos of Jake Gyllenhaal showin’ off his arms after he and ladyfriend Reese Witherspoon did a bit of exercisin’ here in SoCal this week … behold:

While any photo of Jakey poo is a welcome one and while he does look pretty great in these photos, I couldn’t help but notice that his arms don’t seem as buff as they did in those promo images from his new movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time that we saw earlier this month. Sure, in those promo images he was all hard and oiled and at the pique of physical perfection (le sigh) but it appears that his work-out regiment has tapered off in the months since those photos were taken. Again, trust me, I am not complaining at all. Jake looks great any which way … but I cannot wait to see his princely hard body in Prince of Persia. In the meantime, I guess we’ll just have to make do with these cute pics.

‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Releases Another Poster

Le Gang
Saturday, March 28th, 2009

X-Men Origins: Wolverine won’t be released in theaters for 2 months now but the promo machine for the flick is moving into high gear. After getting to see those three 1 minute promo ads for the film (HERE, HERE and HERE) and the last batch of promo photos (HERE), today we get to see the latest movie poster to be released for the X-Men prequel movie … check it out:

Generally, group promo shots like this tend to be a bit cheesy, and this poster is no exception, but sometimes you just have to put the whole gang in the same photo in order to give everyone a bit of face-time. Altho Wolverine is the star of the film, his cohorts have to get some poster love, too. It seems like FOREVER since the movie started production and we are almost in the home stretch for its release. While I don’t think the film will be a mega-huge blockbuster on The Dark Knight scale, I’m sure it’ll do very well when it opens in May. Honestly, tho, I’m tired of all the foreplay … I want to see the damn thing already!

Technical Difficulties

The TV Guide
Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Just a quick announcement this fine Saturday morn … Pink is the new Blog is currently going thru a migration to new servers and, as a result, there will be a few tech glitches on the site over the next few days. For the most part, the first phase went off almost without a hitch. There was one snag, tho. The last 8 posts were lost in the migration — that includes the posts about the ShamWow! guy, Les News, my experience with Prince on Thursday, Madonna’s new daughter, Harlow Madden on Twitter, Kingston James and his kite, David Banda in NYC and Paris Hilton’s blog about her assault. Because I cannot re-write those posts again, I’m just going to start today’s posts fresh … hopefully I’ll be able to salvage those posts and will reinsert them later (trust me, I want to get those posts back bad) but they *may* be gone forever :(

In any event, that’s the way things stand right now. Hopefully it’ll be a smooth process for all y’all … you may see funky URLs along the way as the new servers migrate the data but in about 2 days, things should be back to normal. Thanks, again, for y’all’s patience.
