Lance Bass Holidays With Hot, Half-Nekkid Men

Being a former boy bander really has its privileges … especially when you consider that *NSync member Lance Bass can’t seem to do anything without having a gaggle of super hot dudes around him at almost all times. Lance recently went on holiday with friends(?) including Brazilian screenwriter Gustavo Marzolla (who he appears to be very close with by the look of some of the photos) in Ecuador and photos of the pals have made their way to the Internets … natch:

Whenever Lance goes on vacay with the boys you can expect lots of skin, rock hard abs and his trademark “hang ten” hand salute in the photographic evidence. After the jump, check out a few photos of Lance with his boys in paradise …

Lindsay Lohan Does ‘Nylon’ Magazine

Lindsay Lohan is featured on the cover and in the pages of the 10th anniversary issue of Nylon magazine. In her coverstory interview, Lindsay talks about her love of photoshoots, her opinion on Britney Spears and alludes to a new film project with Sean Penn … and hopefully Seth Rogan. Here is Lindsay on the cover of the 10th Anniversary issue of Nylon and some excerpts from her coverstory interview:

It’s our 10th anniversary, so we knew our cover had to be huge. That meant only one thing: Lindsay Lohan. The starlet and self proclaimed “tabloid obsession” sits down with NYLON for a candid chat.

On Having Her Picture Taken: I love doing photo shoots… I mean, if I could just sign with IMG and do ad campaigns and model more, I’d do that… because that’s fun for me. That’s not work.

Her one Mean Girls reference: There’s not much I can do about the fact that I’ve become a kind of tabloid obsession. I can’t change that. And yes, the websites, the gossip pages, and all of that stuff have hurt my career – they’re like the Burn Books of Hollywood… but I really don’t feel like I should have to prove myself to anyone because of living out my college years in the public eye. I’m glad everything happened the way it did.

On Britney Spears: She’s marketed as an entertainer, which is what she is. Not necessarily as, like, an artist. And I respect that about her, cause she doesn’t want to pretend.

On her future: I’m talking to [lots of people]. One is Sean Penn – I spoke to him again the other day. We’re trying to get Seth Rogen for this project, but Seth won’t call us back. So call us back, Seth, if you’re reading this!

Oooh! Another scintillating interview with L. Lo. I really hope the full interview has more to than these quotes hint at. Tho, what more can be asked of Lindsay Lohan that hasn’t been asked already? After the jump, check out a few photos from her photospread — you know you want to see more pics of Lindsay posing with a cigarette …

On the set of his new movie
James Franco Begins To ‘Howl’

Here are a couple photos of actor James Franco, who we last saw in the films Milk and Pineapple Express, on the NYC set of his new movie Howl. James plays famed Beat poet Allen Ginsberg in the film that tells the tale of the obscenity trial that took place in the 1950′s that attempted to censor his now classic poem Howl:

While Jack Kerouac is my fave writer from the Beat generation, I’ve read quite a bit of Ginsberg‘s poetry, including Howl, and absolutely love the idea of James Franco playing the poet. This would be the second role in a year where Franco plays a gay man … are we beginning to see a pattern? I absolutely hope so :) After the jump, check out a few more pics of Franco on the Howl set this week …

Goes a little GaGa?
Nicole Richie Does ‘BlackBook’ Magazine

Nicole Richie, who just launched her first official website HERE, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new Music issue of BlackBook magazine. Depending on your point of view, in this new photospread she is either lookin’ a lot like Xtina Aguilera, a lot like Lady GaGa or a lot like Xtina Aguilera ripping off Lady GaGa. Here is Nicole‘s new BlackBook magazine coverphoto:

She looks great … and, yes, she looks a lot like the latest looks from both Xtina and GaGa. After the jump, check out the rest of the photos from this photospread and be prepared for a lot of neon brashness …

Um, can you blame her?
Whitney Port Hooking Up With Robert Buckley?

Well, well, well, well … it looks like Whitney Port, from MTV‘s The Hills & The City, broke up with her boyfriend Jay Lyon just in time to catch a bigger (and much, much hotter) fish. Life & Style magazine is reporting that Whitney and Lipstick Jungle hottie Robert Buckley were spied lookin’ pretty cozy in Miami, FL where the pair were playing co-hosts at the Havaianas Spring Break event at the Shore Club on Wednesday. HMMM. Considering what a hawt piece of man Robert Buckley is, I can’t say that I can blame Whitney for going for it ;) Here is a pic of the pair together in Mimai and the L&S report on their supposed hook-up:

It looks like Whitney Port isn’t wasting any time getting over ex-boyfriend Jay Lyon! Sparks are already flying between The City’s Whitney and Lipstick Jungle actor Robert Buckley, an insider tells Life & Style. The duo were both in Miami to host the Havaianas Spring Break event at the Shore Club on March 18. “Whitney and Rob hung out together all day. They were even holding hands!” an insider tells Life & Style. “There was definitely something in the air!” But the passion really ignited at dinner later that night. “Whitney and Rob joined about 10 of their friends for dinner at Nobu. They got quite cozy and started making out like crazy!” the insider reveals. To cap off the sultry evening, the two partied the night away! “They hit the town together after dinner.” says the insider. Juicy new romance or a spring fling? Only time will tell…

You know, if this report is true and something does come from this Spring fling … then Whitney Port is one lucky girl. Robert Buckley is a total cutie and, from what I understand, a really cool guy. I’m not sure I totally believe the details of this report but, again, I can’t say that I would blame Whitney one bit for trying to get into Robert‘s pants. Wouldn’t it be great if Robert started showing up on The City? OMG! Olivia Palmero would DIE! OK, mebbe not … the show might be beneath him … buy any Robert Buckley is more than welcome as far as I’m concerned. My gut tells me that these two are not and will not become an item … which is deffo a loss for Whitney. What do y’all think … do you like these two together?

SxSW: Day Two

OY! I am tired and beat … all this South by Southwest fun is beatin’ my ass up! It wasn’t that long ago that I used to have the kind of stamina that it takes to go all day long from concert to concert without much sleep … but I guess in my old age, that ability has died down a bit. I have to say, tho, that I am having the best time ever tho. I made my first SxSW friend yesterday, got to see a few amazing performances and even got to dance a little bit. Day Two was really fun and really packed ;) I started out by grabbing a bite to eat at the nearest Chick-Fil-A:

The day just got better from there. I met my new friend Devin while we were waiting in line to see The Von Bondies perform at the Bat Bar inside the Austin Convention Center. We hit it off and hung out for the VB show and then made our way to the Peter Murphy show that was right after. We lost touch at that show but met up later on in the night. After Peter, I made my way to La Zona Rosa to await Tori Amos and saw Gabriella Cilmi and Erin McCarley who performed before Tori‘s set — they were both really great. On the advice of Neil Gaiman, I hauled my ass all the way across town as soon as Tori‘s performance was over to see Amanda Palmer … which is where I met up with my friend Devin. So many great performances!!! Here are pics of the artists that I saw yesterday:

The Von Bondies were so great … it was the first time I saw them perform outside of Detroit. They looked and sounded amazing. The new stuff is really good. Peter Murphy was just fabulous … he was in total Grand Dame mode and seemed to be having a great time. Gabriella Cilmi was a nice surprise … her cover of Justin Timberlake‘s Cry Me A River was pretty rad. Erin McCarley was another new find for me. I’m deffo gonna have to pick up her album … and I may see her again tonight. She did a great version of Tom’s Diner by Suzanne Vega … totally killed it!! Tori was heavenly, as I already mentioned HERE and Amanda Palmer … wow! So far, she is my fave new discovery. Her raw passion and talent is really inspiring. She reminds me a bit of Ani DiFranco on piano. I am gonna get as much of her music as I can as well.

After the long day, I needed a drink … so Devin suggested we head over to Oil Can Harry’s for a beverage or two … which was great cuz the club was hosting a nekkid boy in underwear contest :) Not a bad way to unwind. Devin and I hung out for a bit and then I decided to call it a day by 2am. So much fun, tho. I have to give a shout-out to all the people I got to meet yesterday like Steve, Katie, Carrie and Laurie … there were others and I wish I could remember all the names but, alas, I failed to jot them down :( Here are pics of me with Pink readers Erica and Brittany at the Tori show and Javier from the Red Bull party the night before:

Tonight I’m meeting up with my friend Rachel for dinner and then I’m planning to see the Detroit band the Javelins and Melissa Auf Der Maur. I’m sure I’ll squeeze in some other shows too so … the fun never stops :) Seriously tho, I’m gonna need a vacation from this vacation. I hope I can make it thru ’til Sunday. OY!!

Tori Amos Performs Three New Songs At SxSW

Last night I had the privlidge of attending Tori Amos‘s South by Southwest performance at La Zona Rosa here in Austin, TX to bear witness to the debut of three new songs from her new album Abnormally Attracted to Sin. Playing for just about 45 minutes, Tori played a 9-song set that included the songs Lady in Blue, Curtain Call and Mary Jane from her new album in addition to beloved classics like Crucify, Silent All These Years and others. Here are a few of the photos that I snapped of Tori‘s performance last night and the full show setlist:

Tori AmosLa Zona Rosa @ SxSW 03.19.09

Lady in Blue
Curtain Call
Crucify
Cloud On My Tongue
Beauty of Speed
Mary Jane
Take To The Sky (With I Feel The Earth Move Under My Feet interlude)
Silent All These Years
Barons of Suburbia

The show was short but very sweet. Tori performed with just her piano and a keyboard, no band … and sounded divine. Each Tori Amos performance is a special one and you could tell that she was in great spirits last night. She gave a shout out to all of the “familiar faces” in the crowd and lovingly played thru her very short set. The new songs are interesting but I’ll need a few more listens to formulate a full opinion. Tori introduced the new song Mary Jane by explaining that it was inspired by a “true story” of a teenage boy (who she didn’t want to name) who asked his mother if he could invite Mary Jane over to their house … or something to that effect. The song is very cute. I managed to record video of her performing that song which you can watch behind the cut. The classic songs were amazing. Cloud on my Tongue is one of my favorites, I love hearing her perform that song solo without the band (sorry guys ;) After the jump, check out video of Tori performing the songs Crucify and Mary Jane

Trades the "casting couch" for her own bed
‘Twilight’ Director Reveals Her Sexy Casting Methods

As the Twilight movie is released on DVD this weekend … well, tonight at midnight actually, (as is evident from all of the advertising on the site today), new interviews about the film’s creation are being published all over the place this week. Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke talks to Life & Style magazine and reveals how she went about casting Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan. While some directors will have actors enact scenes in sterile offices and conference rooms, Hardwicke opted for a more intimate setting … her bedroom:

There’s no denying the chemistry between Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. And, as Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke tells Life & Style, finding co-stars with that special spark was all part of her plan! “[During casting] I did the whole scene in my bedroom to be sure that these two people had sparks,” Hardwicke told Life & Style at the launch of Twilight: Director’s Notebook in Santa Monica on March 17. “Are they intense? Are we going to believe it and love it?” And this director didn’t just stop at filming them in the bedroom; she wanted them to lock lips! “I said, ‘Yes, we really want you to kiss. I want to see if this works,’” she reveals. “Because at the end of the day, if it just doesn’t work, then it’s not going to work for the whole movie. So I made them go ahead and kiss, and the sparks did fly!” Will Rob and Kristen have the same passionate flame in New Moon?

Hahahaha … while this info is funny it’s also a bit creepy. I can’t imagine that it was all that comfortable for the pair to get all smoochy with one another in Catherine Hardwicke‘s bed. The chemistry between the two must’ve been really palatable for it to show thru in the director’s bed room. I envision a lot of frilly, floral and lace pillows piled on the bed. ::Shudder::

And so … at last … Twilight will be available for purchase so that all y’all rabid Twilighters can watch the movie over and over and over to your heart’s content. I suspect there will be a lot of folks making their way out to the various midnight release parties that are happening all over the country. If YOU venture out tonight to pick up your copy of Twilight on DVD, send in your pics from the DVD release parties. I’ll be sure to post as many of them as I can on the blog tomorrow! Happy shopping!!

NINJA2009.com offers an EP with unreleased songs from NIN, Jane's Addiction & Street Sweeper
Trent Reznor Releases A Batch Of Unreleased Music

As promised and in celebration of the upcoming NIN/JA Tour that will feature co-headliners Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction and Tom Morello‘s new project Street Sweeper, Trent Reznor launched the new site www.NINJA2009.com earlier this morning. Visitors to the site are offered the opportunity to download a 6 song EP that features unreleased tracks from all three bands (2 songs from each). Here is what the artwork for the EP looks like:

The tour sampler offers FREE studio versions of the previously unreleased Nine Inch Nails outtake tracks Not So Pretty Now and Non-Entity that were recorded during the With Teeth album sessions. Non-Entity appears on the Beside You In Time DVD but neither track has ever been officially made available by TR … until now. The two Jane’s Addiction tracks, Chip Away and Whores, appear to be from the recording sessions for their new album (which, I understand, was produced by Trent Reznor). The two Street Sweeper tracks, Clap for the Killers and The Oath, are our first tastes of Tom Morello‘s new project. I’ve already listened to all of the tracks twice now and they rock. What a great way to get amped up for the coming NIN/JA Tour. Head on over to NINJA2009.com NOW to download this free music … you won’t be disappointed.
