Nicole Richie, lookin’ ethereal in her flowy white goddess-like gown and matching golden headband, made a rare in-store appearance at the new Kitson store on Melrose Ave. here in LA yesterday afternoon to meet-and-greet with fans who came out for the official launch of her House of Harlow jewelry line. Here are a few photos from yesterday’s event:

So, OK … mebbe Nicole did look a bit like she fell from of Mt. Olympus in the cheesy 1981 film Clash of the Titans but she really is the kind of lady that can pull off a look like this. The headband is a bold fashion statement and it takes a very confident woman to make it work. I think Nicole makes it work. In any event, I understand that yesterday’s in-store went off swimmingly and that fans who came out to see her were not disappointed. I might have to see about getting myself a headband like this one … I dunno, I think mebbe I can pull it off, too.

Brad Pitt, who is in Washington DC to speak with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi about his charity work in New Orleans, LA in the wake of Hurricane Katrina AND to support his pseudo-wife Angelina Jolie who is currently filming her new film Salt in our nation’s capital, took his eldest daughters Zahara Marley and Shiloh Nouvel out for a little shopping excursion. Here are a few photos of Daddy Braddy and his girls as they shopped up DC:

Brangelina girls Shiloh and Zahara just love to shop – and when their superstar mother Angelina Jolie is busy filming, daddy Brad Pitt will just have to do as a companion. The Benjamin Button star was snapped taking his eldest daughters on a spending spree at a toy shop in Washington DC [Friday]. Balancing a daughter on each hip, the Hollywood hunk hid behind a flat cap and sunglasses as he dashed into the store. The girls clutched soft toys and security blankets as they left, while their father gallanty carried their shopping bags. Upon leaving the store, Zahara proved she is getting to grips with her A-lister lifestyle by donning a snazzy pair of orange sunglasses. The toddler wore grey leggings and Mary-Jane shoes and a favourite cable-knit cardigan she has been spotted in before. Shiloh donned a black hoodie and clutched a soft blue blanket to her face. The family are in town while Angelina shoots her new film Edwin A. Salt. The Tomb Raider star dons a blonde wig over her brunette tresses for the role. Industry insiders have reported the movie features a scene in which CIA agent Angelina goes undercover as a man. The Jolie-Pitts are believed to be renting a Long Island mansion while the film is being shot.

I don’t know which sort of photos I like more … the ones where Ange and the girls are shopping together or photos like these, where Brad and the girls are shopping. I’m just so impressed with the level of one-on-one attention the Brangelina kids get from their parents. Altho Brad and Ange are very bizzy people, they always make time to spend with their children … all of them. It’s only because the baby twins, Vivienne and Knox, are so little that they miss out on all the fun … but I suspect that once they get to toddler age, they’ll be tagging along too. The photos of Angelina with her girls are really cute … but photos of Brad and the little ladies are just too adorable for words. Cute!!

As Britney Spears’s concert tour The Circus starring Britney Spears continues to roll across the country, it would seem that Britney has decided to carve out some time along the way to give back to some very needy people. Before her live performance at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL last night, she paid a visit to the Miami Children’s Hospital to brighten up the spirits of the sick children there by spending time with them. She also donated a hefty sum to a very fun program that services the hospital. Here is a pic of Britney and some of the sick kids she hung out with yesterday:

After rolling into Miami, Britney Spears’s Circus Tour featured a sideshow for a worthy cause. The pop star paid a visit to 40 sick children at Miami Children’s Hospital on Saturday. “She took pictures with the kids and gave them autographed pictures,” hospital spokesperson Cristene Martinez tells PEOPLE. “The kids were so excited to meet Britney, and having her here was a great distraction for them.” She also made a donation to the hospital’s Big Apple Circus Clown Care program, which features clowns who have medical training who visit the young patients on a regular basis, as well as attend special events at the hospital. Spears, 27, who did not have her own children with her, stayed about a half hour, then left with her bodyguard to prepare for her show at the America Airlines Arena.

What a great idea! I think it’s very cool and very wise for Britney to make time for events like these. While I do not discount the genuineness of her actions, I suppose taking on charitable appearances like this go along way to erasing the image some may still have of the “crazy Britney” that we saw not so long ago. Image repair like this is very smart. But, again, just because she seems to be working on her public image, it shouldn’t detract from her good deeds. I’m sure the kids at the hospital were thrilled to have a visit from Britney Spears and I know the hospital could really use her monetary donation. My guess is that Britney will continue to do things like this as her tour carries on. Tonight, Britney performs in Tampa, FL.
