The LA prosecutor’s office has decided to charge singer Chris Brown with 2 felonies on the grounds that he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend Rihanna in the early hours of February 8 just hours before the both of them were to perform at the Grammy Awards later that night. Despite the presumed fact that Rihanna has decided to reconcile with her alleged attacker, the prosecutor’s office has decided to move forward with their case against him. Here is a photo of Brown making his way out of a recording studio here in LA at around 5AM this morning and the deets about the criminal charges he is now facing:

Singer Chris Brown was charged on Thursday with felony assault and making a criminal threat after an alleged attack on his girlfriend, the singer Rihanna. Brown, 19, will appear in court on Thursday, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said. He could face up to four years in prison if convicted of the two felonies. Prosecutors said he attacked Rihanna the night before the Grammy Awards last month. Rihanna, 21, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, was referred to in the official complaint as “Robyn F.” She had not previously been identified by authorities as the victim. The charges were filed a week after Brown and Rihanna, who dated for about a year, were reported by celebrity magazines to have reconciled.

I understand the LA District Attorney felt he had enough evidence to charge Brown with these crimes even taking into consideration that Rihanna may choose to NOT testify against him. According to a local FOX affiliate report here in SoCal, a detective’s notes from the time of the incident contain very damaging information against Chris Brown and may be part of the prosecutor’s case against him. Victoria Beckham hosted a lavish birthday party for her eldest son Brooklyn at a SoCal skatepark that was attended by the other Beckham children as well as Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s eldest son Kingston James McGregor (daddy Becks was not in attendance because he was otherwise occupied on the other side of the globe with his new Italian soccer team). The Skatelab Skate Park was shut down for the special VIP event specifically for the Beckham soiree. Here are a few photos of the venue, the pizza delivery and the arrival of little Kingston along with some deets about the party itself:

With her husband across the other side of the globe, Victoria Beckham was determined to treat her eldest son Brooklyn to an extra special birthday yesterday. Posh threw a party at the indoor skate park Skatelab in Los Angeles to ring in his 10th birthday, complete with pizzas, little VIP guests and plenty of presents. Brooklyn’s brothers Romeo, six, and Cruz, four, joined in on the fun along with Gwen Stefani’s son Kingston, who turns three in May. David missed the festivities – he was in Doha, Qatar, where his team AC Milan played an exhibition game against Al Sadd last night. The football star, who is temporarily based in Italy, was also away for Cruz’s fancy-dress birthday celebrations held at the XMA Martial Arts centre two weeks ago. Still, the party yesterday topped off a week of fun for the Beckham boys. On Monday Posh took them for a day at Universal Studios, where they enjoyed a free-fall simulation ride among others. However, Victoria, 34, didn’t exactly join in on any of the activities with her thrill-seeking sons. She was forced to simply watch on after choosing to wear a rather impractical pair of five inch Christian Louboutin.

Ah yes, I do remember THOSE painful lookin’ kicks that Vicki B. wore to the Universal Citywalk earlier this week … ouch! While the world awaits Michael Jackson’s official announcement today that he is planning on performing a string of dates in the UK this summer (the press conference is about to begin any moment now, fans can click HERE to follow the official MJ Press Conference Twitter feed to keep abreast of the announcement OR can click HERE to watch it streamed live online) there is other MJ news to be had today as well. Last month we learned that Julien’s Auction House was planning to auction off a bunch of Jacko’s personal (and mostly weird) personal possessions in an attempt to recoup some of the money that he owes his debtors … well, today we learn that Jackson himself is not pleased with the proposed plan to sell off his shizz. He has filed a lawsuit against the auction house in an effort to stop the auction from taking place, claiming that the sale of his personal belongings is unauthorized:

Michael Jackson sued an auction house Wednesday to halt the scheduled sale of thousands of his personal possessions, an action the firm says caught it completely off-guard. The King of Pop’s company, MJJ Productions, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday against Julien’s Auction House. It claims founder Darren Julien promised to send Jackson an inventory of sale items, but that the singer hasn’t given permission to move them all. The suit claims many of the items are “priceless and irreplaceable” and describes the attempt to sell them as “malicious, fraudulent, extreme, outrageous and without any legal justification whatsoever.” Julien said Wednesday night that the lawsuit was a “total surprise to us, because Jackson had been apprised of everything since the day we started. His manager … has approved everything.” In December, Julien’s company announced it would administer a five-day auction in April featuring more than 2,000 of Jackson’s personal items, including his American Music Award for “Thriller,” a velvet cape given to him by his children for Father’s Day in 1998, a pair of rhinestone-trimmed socks from 1981 and a basketball signed by Michael Jordan. Platinum and gold records, a customized Harley Davidson, a Rolls Royce limousine and his own original artwork were also set for sale, according to the original announcement. MJJ Productions authorized the auction house to remove the items from Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, according to court documents, but not to sell them without Jackson’s permission. “There was no other intention when we picked up the items” but to put them up for sale, Julien said. He said that Jackson’s camp had since requested some items be returned, which the firm honored. “Up until two days ago we were working with his managers,” including final details such as a date for the catalog to be ready and signed, he added. Julien, who is in Ireland on a promotional trip and had not been served with the lawsuit, said he would be getting in touch with the Jackson camp before deciding what to do next.

Oh snap! And I really was lookin’ forward to procuring that awesome painting of Jacko for my guest bathroom :( Something tells that Jacko was hit with a case of seller’s remorse. I suspect that he did, indeed, have a deal to sell of his shizz in order to raise money for his debtors but along came this £150 million dollar opportunity to play these upcoming concert dates in the UK and he decided to hang on to his “priceless and irreplaceable” items. I can’t blame him, actually. Sure, the stuff that is being offered for auction may be INCREDIBLY gaudy and strange but these are things that surely mean something to Jackson. My guess is that this auction will not take place … sorry ’bout it :(

David Beckham, who will be staying in Milan, Italy for the next couple of months in order to continue playing with AC Milan, was spotted making his exit from a new Motorola photoshoot earlier this week gabbing on the company’s newest luxury mobile phone … which he will be endorsing in a new ad campaign that is scheduled to hit the market in a few weeks. Here is Becks and his shiny new Motorola AURA mobile phone … which will cost mere mortals a cool $2,000 to own for themselves:

I understand that the edgy and provocative new ad campaign is Becks’s next step to further entrench himself as a style icon. Considering that the Motorola AURA will retail for $2,000 due to its high quality design and materials, here’s hopin’ for the company’s sake that the ads can do the trick:

The specs on the phone are pretty impressive … it’s the first mobile phone that is able to display up to 16 million colors, the gears on the flip hinge are coated with Tungsten Carbide and the lens is made out of a 62-carat sapphire crystal. Basically, the phone is the definition of posh, as it were. A fancy phone like this prolly means that Becks is pullin’ in a fancy paycheck to endorse it. At least with all his public whining about wanting to stay in Milan rather than faithfully fulfilling his original contract with the LA Galaxy, he still manages to make sure that his major endorsement deals are paid heed to. I ain’t gonna lie, the phone looks and sounds pretty sweet … I guess I just wish he’d use it to call his bosses at the Galaxy to tell them that he’s decided to come home to SoCal where he belongs ;)

Last Xmas, we got our first look at the newborn son of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz when the proud parents posted a photo of Bronx Mowgli on his daddy’s official website last December 25 … and we haven’t seen hide nor hair of the little tyke since — until now. Ashl33n made their way thru LAX Airport with little Bronx Mowgli in tow … the family was bound for a trip to Manchester, England:

As far as I can tell, this trip across the pond is Bronx’s first to Europe and is most definitely the little guys first trip to the UK. It’s hard to tell if the little man is hiding flat-ironed hair underneath that little cap but my guess is … yeah, he is. It’s hard to believe that Ashlee’s newborn baby is already so big … it won’t be long until we see photos of Bronx taking his first steps. He’s a little doll, ain’t he? I hope we’ll get to see more photos of the happy family as they make their way around the UK on this getaway.
