Wrigley’s Suspends Their Commercial Featuring Chris Brown
Also, Radar reports Rihanna was heard 'screaming' at the hospital after assault

Extra! TV is reporting that the Wrigley’s company has decided to suspend their newest Doublemint Gum commercial featuring Chris Brown while allegations of his felonious assault with a deadly weapon are being sorted out. The company insists that they believe that Brown should treated innocent until proven guilty, despite the fact that they have decided to pull his ads off the air while this scandal unfolds:

Due to Sunday’s felony charges against R&B artist Chris Brown, Wrigley’s has told “Extra” that they plan to “suspend” the gum commercials featuring the singer. Chew on that. Wrigley released the following statement to “Extra” regarding Brown: “Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen. However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved.” Chris originally penned his smash hit “Forever” for a Wrigley’s Doublemint commercial. The song, later lengthened by Brown, went on to top the Billboard charts.

Honestly, I don’t blame them at all for taking this action. Even tho nothing has been proven AT ALL, the fact that Chris Brown has been arrested is enough for a campaign like this to get pulled.

In other related news, Radar is reporting that an eyewitness inside Cedars Sinai Medical Center identified and could hear Rihanna “screaming” in pain after the alleged assault early Sunday morning:

A source inside Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles has confirmed exclusively to RadarOnline.com that pop star Rihanna was in fact treated there for injuries, allegedly inflicted by her boyfriend R&B singer Chris Brown. Since Brown’s bombshell arrest on Sunday, there has been widespread speculation that the victim was 20-year old Rihanna. Now, RadarOnline.com can confirm it’s true from an eyewitness who saw her inside the hospital. The eyewitness tells RadarOnline.com:

“It was some time after [12AM PST Sunday] and I had been waiting in the ER department corridor when Rihanna was brought through the back entrance on a gurney, flanked by two LAPD officers. It was impossible to know it was her at first because when they wheeled her past me, she had the hood on her fuchsia-colored sweatshirt tightly drawn round her face and she was wearing big brown sunglasses. They took her into room 14 which was opposite me. It had a six-foot glass door but the nurses drew a privacy curtain around it. I knew the person was famous because of all the attention she was being given by security and medical staff. However, they didn’t draw the curtain all the time and I was finally able to make out that the woman they had brought in was Rihanna. She was lying in bed. While the two police officers waited outside, Rihanna was seen by the doctor. When he left, a plain clothes officer in a mismatched suit went in. I figured he was a detective because I saw the handcuffs in his belt. He stayed in there for about an hour. When he left, Rihanna’s two female assistants went in to see her and a private security guard stood outside. The police officers were given room 10 to use which was close to Rihanna’s. Rihanna was clearly very upset by what had happened and I could hear her screaming. Rihanna was trying to get her point across about something, she sounded like she was crying as she tried to get to put her point across. Her staff was also very shaken by what had happened. Later on I saw one of the assistants crying into the shoulder of the security guard. I left at 4pm, happy to get out of the place, something terrible had clearly happened to Rihanna.”

Brown was booked Sunday night on a charge of making criminal threats and was later released on $50,000 bail. Police say he remains under investigation for felony charges of domestic assault. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 5th. A publicist for Rihanna would only issue this statement: “Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support.”

I’m am just repeatedly shocked every time new information comes out. Just as I feared, this story keeps getting worse and worse. I don’t know when or if we’ll get any solid, concrete info anytime soon … which means the rumor mill will continue to churn. I’ve been hearing some really ugly things that I am not interested in passing along. I’m only willing to pass along information that seems credible and offers citations of eyewitness accounts or facts. This news is just so sad … I hope Rihanna, wherever she is, is doing OK and I hope that the punishment will fit the crime should these charges against Chris Brown turn out to be proven. Sad, sad day.

i refuse to make any judgements against chris until some statements are released. cause i heard some ridiculous things in the last 24 hrs.

  2. Mrs. Nott says:

i don’t know rhianna personally, but i am so worried about her. i hope she’s getting better….

and just last night i was watching tv and her new covergirl commercial came on (the one with the mascara) and i was thinking to myself, “she’s so beautiful. i wanna look like her! she’s hot, i want her hair!”

  3. Confused says:

This just keeps getting more confusing though. How is it that she was rushed to the hospital after the incident occurred, but it was actually 12 hours later? The incident happened at 12:30AM, but this report says she wasn’t brought into the emergency room until 12PM. And just to add to the confusion, they were supposedly seen TOGETHER leaving their hotel at 7:30AM. Something just isn’t adding up with all these “eyewitness” reports!

  4. Ashley says:

I read too that they were seen together at the London at 7:30am BUT on another blog there was video of Chris arriving at the London with an unidentified women after he was released from custody. Who knows….

  5. MeGs says:

It all sounds really bad for CB right now, but what if he was defending himself?Hitting a woman is wrong without a doubt BUT I’m just saying what if she was out of control too? I’ve seen women who are more physically agressive than their partner especially during arguments. She must have felt seriously thretened to call the Police on him though..Confusing…can’t wait for an update from his Rep.

  6. B says:

Trent, one of the reasons I read here is that you don’t pass along all of the unsubstantiated stuff that flies around. Thanks for not feeding rumor mills.

If CB was defending himself, why would she be the one so hurt? If she was the one out of control, why would she be the one hurt enough to be in an emergency room? Has anyone reported seeing him with bruises on his face etc? Seems like his reps would be out there with that message already if that was the case.

  7. nicole says:

@B – alot of times…when the woman is the agresser (sp?) they still end up being the one more seriously hurt. it could have started out with him defending himself, but it got out of control.

  8. April says:

I am so shocked at this story – I thought they were a beautiful, down to earth couple..I am shocked at this type of thing happening..with this couple in particular! Seriously just shocking. I am curious when the actual truth will come out.

  9. CS says:

Shocking story.. so many rumours going around. I agree that it is never okay for a man to hit a woman, but also think it’s never okay for a woman to hit a man.. So until all the details are revealed, I hope people will keep “innocent until proven guilty” in mind..

If she did give him a STD, she should also be held accountable for that.

  10. Jen says:

Holy cow. This is very shocking news indeed. I will try to reserve any judgment of CB until more info comes out. As for Rihanna, I really hope she is doing well.

  11. Karly says:

    i think it’s all shady
    i love hime ):

  12. zzozo says:

perez stole the chrihanna nickname from you!!
i hope you give him a beat down for this the rich bastard should be able to come up with his own names at least :@
but i do hope that this is all resolved quickly
i want to know what happened!!!
i was chris’ biggest fan, well maybe not biggest, but a fan nonetheless

  13. Kent says:

@CS – where did you get the STD idea from?
I hate all this sexist crap about who shouldn’t hit who… the only thing that matters is that no one – regardless of gender – should ever hit anyone else (also regardless of gender).
And I can’t believe Rihanna’s rep stated she’s “well”. I seriously doubt the girl is “well” today!!!

  14. Krissy says:

The STD rumor is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, and people are fools if they chose to pass it on. There is NEVER a good reason to hit anyone. Why people give credibility to rumors with no facts in them, it boggles my mind. I have read terrible things about Rhianna today from crazy Chris fans. There is no need to slam her!

  15. Tracy says:

Regardless of whether she hit him first, a man should never hit a woman. Hold her down maybe but nothing else.

  16. Anna says:

7:00pm my time and I’m still seeing his doublemint gum commercials on television….. Whats up with that? Ive seen three

  17. ebbsterr says:

i just seen in commercial on MTV

  18. pw says:

this is such an unfortunate incident, and i admit, i was super surprised to hear it involved chris brown and rihanna. they seemed nothing but sweet and happy whenever photographed together. i wouldn’t be surprised if this was a case of an argument that just got terribly out of control. some people don’t realize they are capable of that kind of anger until the moment it’s unleashed. i totally believ chris should be punished as the law requires if he is found guilty, but if this was a singular incident, my hope is that he will get some help, and that they both can heal emotionally.

  19. Joanne says:

The kind of adulation that was heaped on CB only leads to bad things … The media and public start to talk about these young guys like they are gods or something – egos get out of control – too much money, girls and then drugs or drink usually follow.

  20. BUZZ says:

I totally agree with you Joanne. If true I doubt that it was a one time thing. I read on People.com that her injuries were pretty bad. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has been abusive & it finally escalated.

If it is an abusive relationship, I hope she gets out!! It’s especially hard when it’s your first serious love. It’s so sad that alot of young woman & men think they deserve to be treated that way, because that’s all they know. A guy I grew up with is trying to get out of a abusive relationship.

I’m with Kent, there is no excuse to beat up your partner.
