Well … at least it was the funnest ;) Last night, David and I hosted our first shindig in our new home and had over a few friends to watch the Academy Awards with us. We rolled out an actual red carpet (well, towel) and had each guest pose for the paparazzi (well, my digicam) and then snacks, food and booze was had by all. It turns out that Mike won first prize — his own Snuggie! Darion won second prize, a Jack Bauer from 24 action figure and Alek took home third prize, a limited edition Echo from Dollhouse action figurine. After all the ballots were tallied and the prizes were handed out, it turned out that there was an error in calculation (math was never my strong suit) and Darion and Alek tied for second place. Fortunately, the award for tying for second place is a limited edition Echo from Dollhouse action figurine. So, yay!!!
The party went off without a hitch, we all had a great time. Everyone went home with a giftbag full of goodies … DVDs, CDs, nosiemakers, slap bracelets and an official Pink is the new Blog sticker! Yay!!!
I did get some bad news yesterday, tho. My mom was injured in an accident late Saturday night and had to get stitches in her head. She’s OK but after hearing her on the phone I decided to fly home to see her for a few days. I leave tonight and arrive early tomorrow morning. I’ll be there until Thursday. Posting should still be on schedule but depending on how things go over the next few days, it might be a little slow. In any event, I hope y’all had a great Oscar night last night … and I also hope you take some time to tell the people in your life how much you love them.

You are such a good son. I think my sister and I were little brats.Our mom was in a car accident when were about 8 and 10. She had gone Christmas shopping with my aunt that day. She had to go to the hospital for stitches in her head. When she got home all my sister and I could do was give her a hard time about not bringing us home a surprise like she promised. To this day I still feel bad about that,Luckily my younger sister doesn’t remember it. However, it is too late for me to tell her sorry. She passed away many years ago.

Wow Trent I wish you had to invite me and my friend I had 15 right and she had 20 right! I would have taken her Snuggie though because she hates them.
