Twilight Saga star Kristen Stewart, who plays the living-breathing incarnation of protagonist Bella Swan, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Nylon magazine. In her coverstory interview, Kristen talks about topics as varied as how uncomfortable she is on talk shows to her love life (yes, this interview has range). Additionally, Kristen Stewart goes on the record about all those rabid Twilight fans out there who like to ask her, in her own words, “bullshit” questions that don’t really mean anything to her. Way to bite the hand that feeds you, girl. Here is Kirsten‘s Nylon magazine coverphoto and some portions from her coverstory interview:

Though she’d caught our eye with her piercing turn with Emile Hirsch in Into the Wild last year, it was her Twilight role as Bella Swann, the mortal love of a “vegetarian” vampire named Edward Cullen (a phrase now synonymous in America with “hot, unattainable soul mate”) that showed she was ready for her NYLON cover turn. Apparently, Superbad director Greg Mottola agrees – he’s cast Kristen opposite Jesse Eisenberg in his new flick Adventureland.
Here’s what Kristen told us about her new life as a bonafide, tabloid-chased celebrity. Read the new issue of NYLON for even more about the world of a Hollywood veteran, but a very new movie star.
On the Twilight Madness: “Anywhere we’d go for Twilight was a psychotic situation. The sound was deafening, and it’s thoughtless, as well… You get a slew of all these bullshit questions like, ‘What’s it like to kiss a vampire?’ and ‘How much do you love Robert?’ Then you’ll get one that’s actually real, but you’re like, ‘No, I can’t right now, I can’t even consider [it].”
On her memorable David Letterman appearance: “I feel like I have nothing to say on those shows… I’m not good at the funny thing—most people are really great on those shows. I don’t have a contrived personality that [I can] just pump out [for] a five-minute segment, so I end up sitting there and looking kind of baffled. Embarassing.”
And no, she’s not dating Robert Pattinson: “It’s just totally false… Rob and I are good friends. We went through a lot together, so we feel very close. But if we go out in public, every little detail is scrutinized, like the way I stand next to him. And it’s like, I know this guy really fucking well [laughs]. It’s only natural that we’re sort of leaning on each other, because we’re put in the most fucking psychotic situations.”
On who she’s actually dating: “He’s older than me—he’s 20 now—but when you’re 13 and he’s turning 16, it was always sort of an out-of-reach thing. Then you get a little older, and you realize, ‘Oh, What the fuck am I thinking? I can have you, like, lickity…’” she snaps her fingers, laughing. “He’s awesome.”
LOL. You gotta love that the girl tells it like she sees it. To be honest, I am actually impressed that Kirsten Stewart just cannot dumb herself down to pander to the insipid questions that get thrown at her by rabid fans. I think it is a much better thing for young girls who want to relish in the fantasy to get a little dose of intelligent reality from the actress they so dearly look up to. I really hope Kristen Stewart never changes, she seems like a very smart girl … and we deffo need more smart girls in Hollywood. After the jump, check out a few photos from Kristen‘s Nylon magazine photospread …

The shoot is cute, very Nylon … I personally would’ve advised against wearing pajamas in that fourth pic but hey — mebbe hipsters like pajamas? In any event, Kristen Stewart has got many years of Bella Swanness in her future … I do hope she maintains her brash honesty. It’s refreshing and commendable. Hopefully the young girls who look up to her will begin to do so after they see her as a real person rather than a hot vampire’s girlfriend.

Well it sounds more like the “bullshit” questions she is talking about are the ones she gets from some press, but she could have expressed it better. I’m sure thats what she’ll be saying relatively soon in another interview. What I really don’t understand is why she feels if you’re able to interact with talk show host its “contrived”. Especially since she is such good friends with Nikki Reed who is so media hungry she’ll talk to tmz any day of the week. I think she is smart in a way, but she also comes across as if she thinks she is better then most people for it. Plus, you’d think she would think a little more before she opened her mouth. Theres a difference between not pandering to the hollywood machine, and straight up shooting yourself in the foot. Her inability to promote a film might not directly hurt her career, but it won’t help it.
She is not saying the fans questions were bullshit. The majority of the “bullshit” questions during twilight mania were not from the twi-hard fans…… they were from interviewers. If countless reporters were continually asking me what it was like to kiss a vampire or make out with the hottest boy alive, I would also consider the whole thing ridiculous. She has always seemed pleasant, albeit a little uncomfortable, when confronted and/or accosted by fans.
Kirsten should not bite the hand that feeds her the cash to pay for her terrible hair style.
She’s made a film for teenagers, of course she’s going to get teenage girls who admire her and are completely jealous of the fact she got to kiss Robert, and they are ALWAYS going to ask stupid questions, wether she’s 18 or 30. She should just stop acting like shes the beez neez and appreciate what she has before these movies are finished and she dissapears into thin air.
She’ll be a cracked out has been in no time. And we’ll all think, pity, so much potential. She has a stank attitude and a rebellious behavior to match her age. You either grow out of it or into it, lets hope maturity meets her well.
i really admire kristen in some ways, but in others she is annoying. like i heard she didn’t even want to do twilight. but she did it anyway because it was a good career move or something, and didn’t put any heart into it at all. she was NOT bella swan.
im not one of those ridiculous “i heart edward cullen” type of people, but i do like the books, and i even managed to like the movie. although i wish she hadn’t been bella.
also for the person who said twilight fans made her what she is, no, they didn’t. kristen was famous way before this.
i think all people, regardless of their profession, should be mindful about what comes out of their mouth. sure, when i was 18, i too could not stand insipid little moronic teens.. but for heavens sake, there’s nothing wrong with being tactful about it!
.
not everyone has to be the sunshiney hollywood star, but she could at least ACT greatful, or at least be a little more diplomatic about the twilight hype she’s gotten from fans.
@ Jas – if you think about it… Twilight really did make her famous. sure she did other movies…but how many people can list them with out the help of IMDB? she doesnt really leave a lasting impression on her roles.
i don’;t think she meant twilight fans ask stupid questions, i think she meant the press.
i’m a fan of twilight , I agree that she has a few defects .. but she only 18 years old ! she is very straight victory probably should have done that she lost the dexterity in behavior … but I love her for that … true offensive , can you do negative characteristics of each person created in the special person ! yourself sometimes make people hate them all … who’s we recognize that she does not satisfy their fans, but the contacts you need is with her … love all :) !
I am not ashamed to admit that I am one of those Twilight housewives who is obsessed with the books/movies. But I am very irritated by some of these comments as well as comments made by members of her family. In a recent red carpet interview posted on msn.com, Kristen’s father commented on Rob Pattinson being a presenter at the Academy Awards. He said something to the effect of, “Kristen will be a presenter when the movie she is in is good, not just when it makes a lot of money.” Talk about biting the hand that feeds you, sheesh! I am all for young celebrities expressing their opinions and stepping out of that ditzy persona, but have a little class. She is still signed on to do two more of these movies and I would guess is taking home a pretty substantial paycheck for doing so. Have a little respect for the people you work with.
The more I hear from her, the more I dislike her. She sounds like a bratty teenager. Yeah, some of the questions she gets asked are ridiculous, but a large part of the Twilight fanbase consists of young girls. She just seems like she can’t be bothered with anything. I think she should appreciate the fact that she is in the limelight right now and stop bitching about it. And I also heard this morning about the comment her father made about the Oscars. Get over yourself, I mean really. If you’re too good for the movie, why did you even sign on for it?
My point is do some research before you accept a role. It is clearly based on books that are under the “young adult” category. Even if she wasn’t aware that there were legions of fans that read these books, with a little investigating she would have known that the books were written for a younger audiance. If she didn’t want to be in a movie with tons of young fans then she shouldn’t have taken the role. I have a love/hate feeling towards Kristen. Since I really love the books I consider her part of the Twilight family, but I too think she has this attitude that she is “too cool for school”.
I am a huge fan of the Twilight Saga and I am so bummed by Kristen Stewart. I know she is her own person and is not Bella, but she seems so unappreciative. She is the envy of so many girls and she gets to play such an iconic character. As an actress, I am envious of her. She gets this terrific role and she gets to be on screen with Rob. She needs to be more gracious to her fans, no matter their ages.
i know some of you are saying that its the press shes talking about and not the fans, but when you think about it, the press asks the questions that the fans wanna know the answers about, so in a way its still a slap in the face to her fans.
thanks for being so postive about her. It’s nice to read a postive article from someone like you.
i think she’s fine. well, she tells it like it is. maybe it’s just her. at least she’s being like really honest. would you rather hear some fakers talk? at least she don’t pretend to be all you know,HOLLYWOOD. and she acts real good. it’s like she’s not acting at all. we can’t expect everyone to ba all girly and glamorous like Kim is.Everyone’s different. I think she does appreciate her fans. We just don’t see it like she does.
kristen, keep it real and never change i like the bitchy attitude! oh ya, i would be a little bitchy too if i keep’t getting asked the same stupid fuckin qustions when they already know the answers. ppl get some new qestions!
I agree with Faye as well. Its like she doesnt care about the people who mke her famous, without those fans she has nothing. shes just a snotty girl who seems to not like what shes doing.
And the fact that her dad is dogging the movie to reporters…that doesnt help either. He told some reporter that when twilight is a great movie and not just a movie that makes money then she will be presenting at the oscars. Im sorry but a lot of people love that movie and making all that money makes her job. She and her family shouldnt be so ungrateful
She is so rude. I agree completely with BLAH GIRLS. Kirsten thinks she’s all that.
I agree with pretty much everything you just said.
… this is the first time I’ve read someone NOT bashing Kristen for this interview.
And for that, I love you =)
