‘Twilight’ Premieres In Japan
Earlier this week we saw photos of Robert Pattinson’s arrival in Japan as well as Kristen Stewart’s arrival … and today we learn that Taylor Lautner has also made his way to Japan as all three of the Twilight Saga stars were on hand for a press conference in Tokyo, Japan to promote their film Twilight which premiered there last night (which was actually today in Japan):
Yay! I love that Taylor is there in Japan as well … he may not have had a splashy arrival but his presence there is appreciated. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I’m 100% Team Jacob (Taylor’s Twilight character) but I did champion his drive to retain the role he originated in Twilight and I’m happy that he will continue to portray Jacob in New Moon.
After the Twilight kids were finished doing promo work for the Japanese press, it was time to bundle up and brave the chilly rain to promote the movie and the film’s premiere later the same day. After the jump, check out a few photos from the Japanese premiere of Twilight last night …
And so it begins … I understand that Twilight doesn’t actual open in theaters in Japan until April 4 but I’m sure the film’s premiere will get the Twilight Saga party started in the Land of the Rising Sun. The kids in Japan are known for their rabid fandom so I’m sure Twilight will do well there … but no rest for the weary … filming for New Moon, the Twilight sequel which is scheduled for release here in the US in November of this year, gets underway next month. So, pretty much, as soon as these three are finished with their promo work in Japan it’s back to work on the next film … much to the glee of Twilighters the world over.

kristen looked amazing and so glad to see her beautiful smile robert looked happy and handsome and taylor is just such a cutie so glad to see them again

Kristen’s hair drives me nuts! I mean, really? Brush it or something? JEEZ. Robert is gorgeous just as usual and Taylor is pretty hot too (I don’t feel weird for saying that because I’m only a year in a half older than him) but my friend always makes fun of his nose. : / haha

lol Kristen looks soooo uncomfortable, that girl is so media unfriendly, she can’t pose, she can barely smile and always seems like she’s does not want to be there, does she pick out her dresses with her eyes close?? ugly dresses on both times! and i’m not even going there about her hair…Taylor is still short and not that big for who is is suppose to be in the story but he looks kinda cute….Rob looks like he is trying to go back to his mop hair style that he got rid of a little while back….but this is a more controlled sexy style and he looks handsome as ever!

I think the really bad, messed up hair is Kristen’s trademark. Along with her apathy for all things Twilight. Heck, for all things, period. Maybe they’re setting her up to look vampirific in Breaking Dawn and stun us all. We know from the Vanity Fair shoot and others that she can look amazing. It still bothers me, however, how aloof she is about Twilight, not because I need her to be in love with Rob, but because it came through in her portrayal of Bella. Bella might be cool in general, but she’s anything but when it comes to Edward. Kristen as Bella NEVER convinced me of that heart-stopping love Meyer wrote about. Speaking of which, Rob always smiles around Kristen which means one of two things; either he meant what he said in all those interviews and totally got into Edward’s head and knows how to look like the sun rises and sets 100% on Bella and has a hard time stepping back from the role, or he’s got the hots for Kristen. I hope it’s the former. And I REALLY hope some of that method acting rubs off on Kristen. I mean really, Rob acts like she’s the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen and totally plays the bedazzled “I’ve waited a hundred years for you” part no matter what she looks like or how apathetic she sounds. So, for all of us who want to see the [cheesy, yet addictive] love story truly morphed onto screen, how hard would it be to ACT like you’re in love with your co-star when he happens to be the most perfect personification of Edward Cullen EVER? I really want to like her. I do. I just wish she cared a little more about the character portrayal. If she was too cool for [high] school [romance] then she shoulda passed up the part and left it for someone a little more excited to spend time with Rob/Edward. Natalie Portman, anyone? If Drew Barrymore can make Kristen Care-a-little-more, that’d be awesome by me.

Dang. “Guest’s” comments above took the words out of my mouth. Awesome assessment! Kristen was not very convincing as Bella Swan. I’ve read that some people think Alexis Bledel could’ve done it better and I agree, although she maybe a little old for the part.

her hair annoys me. is it that hard to just do something with it?? thats what the stylists get paid to dooooo.i love roberts hair the way it is now, not so much when it was all over the place and he looked like a grease ball, but he’s grown on me for sure…i like him more & more everyday..i even had to break out harry potter lol ( i gotta say i liked him more it HP.) and Taylor is lookin pretty good these days too.

either way, i swear she becomes more unlikeable every time something is posted about her. she may be uncomfortable in these high pressure situations (who can blame her?), but she’s an ACTRESS – surely she could FAKE/ACT some confidence for these media/press times?

kirsten dear,
please brush your hair, throw away your curtain-like clothes and if you insist on being a little, remotely alike Cory Kennedys tired look, wear something descent. Actually, maybe switch to decaf and look ,well… awake. Smile more as well, you do look alot better when you show your cigarette-stained teeth.
Along with your clothes, throw away your boring personality and be kinda grateful for what you’ve got. I know you had a really tough schooling life, but seriously, be grateful.
When you stand next to your gorgeous co-stars you look, blah.
And i agree with ‘Guest’, i try to like you, i truly do, but you make it so-gosh-damn hard to. Maybe its your awkward-ness ?
Oh, and show more emotion in your acting. I keep imagining Natalie Portman playing your part because i believe she would show so much more emotions.
Rob is so handsome and Taylor is cute, they both have lovely smiles. Espec Taylor colgate smile.

Diana – maybe a little? He also said he worked out a TON before twilight because he wanted edward to look sinewy like they described in the books, and then the producers freaked. so he prob put some of this weight back, but not all of it for the film…..anyone else notice how big Taylor’s upper body looks in that suit? Awesome for him! I’m excited. It’s great progress for New Moon but I think he’ll have to put on even more muscle for eclipse! Kristens black dress looks horrible. The white is okay, its interesting.I think its the first time we’ve seen her in something floor length and so feminine.
