BritneySpears.com has been updated with the news that Nine Inch Nails have been rehearsing for their upcoming tour in the same studio that Britney Spears has been rehearsing for her upcoming tour … and apparently, everyone has been cool with sharing the space with each other. Believe it or not, ’tis true. Here is the full scoop from Britney‘s official website on this seemingly odd pairing:
Trent Reznor of the Nine Inch Nails is speaking up about sharing a rehearsal facility with Britney while both prepare for their separate tours.
“I can hear the thumping low end of Britney Spears. It’s been a treat having them here the whole time we’ve been here.”
In response, Britney’s manager, Adam Leber, says “Brit has been sharing the same rehearsal space with NIN for the past few weeks and they are getting along famously. Maybe we should ask Trent Reznor to remix Circus?” What do you think, Trent? Up for the challenge?
OMG, this is like my DREAM come true. Nine Inch Nails AND Britney Spears workin’ on their upcoming tours in the same space … in close enough proximity where the seemingly unlikely possibility that in an alternate universe somewhere the two might collaborate in some way?!? I can’t even fathom such a wondrous occurrence to ever take place … but the mere thought that both concert tours are being hatched and practiced in the same place … it kinda, sorta boggles the mind. I suppose it’s possible that one might influence the other in some way … I guess we’ll know for sure when both Britney and NIN hit the road, individually, in the coming weeks. I would, like, die if TR actually deigned to remix a Britney Spears song … I’m pretty sure it would *never* happen but … I guess you never know. What do y’all think … is it possible?

And then Britney’s manager’s statement “getting along famously” would be a lie then? mmmkay? I too, really doubt Trent would ever work with Britney but it doesn’t hurt to imagine such a wonderful thing.

Don’t even go there dude. Britney has a lot more experience than you’ll ever know. And frankly it’s not our business how much work Britney or Trent puts in, it’s all about the output and music right? I’m not going to justify how Britney isn’t Carole King but I will say it’s people like you that are killing what music is about.
@ Lana – I honestly doubt Britney’s people picked up on the sarcasm, particularly if they read the quote out of context. Their quote was ‘in response’ after all. They are prolly polite to each other in passing, and that got turned into “getting along famously.” That’s how PR people do, often.
What happened to “NIN = apples, Britney = oranges” Trent V? I for one see a place for both of these peoples music – but MY GOD, Not Together!!! Altho… on second thot, maybe if the selection is right, Trent R could do some awesome satire off of one of Brit’s fluff pieces… hmmm…. idk idk, i can’t picture it, but Trent R has pulled off some awesome covers I wouldn’t have pictured in the past. …still, gotta say, at this point, DNW

Yes it is very funny. Me and Trent from Pink LOVE Britney and NIN so of course we have to have fun and get excited with this because this is probably the one and only time we can truthfully associate Britney and Trent together. On the flip side, the really funny thing is all pissed NIN fans all of a sudden thinking they are TR’s p.r. agent explaining his satire.
Maybe Brit will get cooler, just by being near Trent Reznor?

Ok, I am a NIN fan but I think most of the NIN fans have gotten it wrong, the joke was the first line of the quote:

Referring to her booty dropping music or dance moves or something like that. Trent has never been scared to voice his opinions but I doubt he would go out of his way to run someone’s name in the mud, much like the press has done to Britney the last few years, unless someone has absolutely crossed him like Manson or his ex manager then he may say something.
I mean TR is currently working with a Sell Out right now in Dave Navarro who went from Alternative Rock icon in Janes Addiction to reality TV star. Do NIN fans rang on TR for this? Of course not because Navarro plays alternative music so that automatically gives him more credibility.
NIN fans are ultimately scared of the possibility of TR getting along with someone like Britney Spears, when in reality they are likely two nice people.
I’m a hardcore NIN fan, i like Britney, I’d like to think that Trent and Britney are friends! I would love a Britney Spears song to be remixed by Trent!

I’d lose a lot of respect for Trent Reznor if he collaborated w/ her. If he tapped her, that would be a different story and I would encourage him to do so…in fact I demand it!
