The Newly Reunited Blink-182 Releases New Promo Images
Last week, at the Grammy Awards to be exact, punk popsters Blink-182 announced that they would be reuniting again in order to record a new album and possibly hit the road. It would seem that all the bad blood between the band members — Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker — that caused the break-up in the first place is all water under the bridge. This week, the band released new promo photos of the newly reunited Blink-182 (the first since their break-up a few years ago) shot by photographer Michael Muller that prove the band means bizznazz. Here is one of the new promo photos along with the official statement released by the band on the state of their reunification:
Hi. We’re blink-182. This past week there’ve been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us.
To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy.
Summer 2009.

I may not be a huge Blink-182 fan but I can appreciate that there are a lot of folks out there who are very excited by this news. The guys tend to make some pretty fun music so I’m looking forward to hearing what they’ve got up their collective sleeves. I suppose it is really nice that they have been able to kiss and make up so that they can make music together again. Methinks that Travis’s near death experience last year may have had something to do with the positivity amongst the band members again. I think it’s always a good thing when estranged friends and colleagues are able to mend fences and move forward together again. I guess I am looking forward to hearing new stuff from Blink-182. Bring it on, boys, it’s been far too long since y’all have been away.

I saw Blink-182 at the 9:30 Club in DC back in 2000, and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
I can’t wait for them to get back together. I was such a huge fan.

Dude, this is amazinggggggg!! MY first ever concert was Green Day and Blink 182..even though I was there for Green Day it was still amazing and I definitely became a blink fan.

I’m excited!!!!! Blink 182 were my introduction to punk and I’m a huge fan of the genre because of them. I can’t wait. I’d shell out the money to see them.

My only concern is the possible demise of Toms’ band, Angels and Airwaves (AvA). I am a huge fan of both Blink 182 and AvA, and had just gotten used to the fact that Blink was never getting back together. AvA has a more “serious” sound than Blink, and I’m going to miss it. That is, if Tom doesn’t pursue both bands. I hope he can find some way to work it out.
Other than that, I’m totally psyched!!!!!

I am a huge fan of Blink, but then totally lost my appreciation for all 3 musicians when they created their own music and apart, well they sucked. In my opinion. Mark and Travis made decent attempts but then Tom seemed to think he was Jesus reborn or something so…I’m hoping the new Blink will pick up when the old Blink left off, with none of that mess in between leeching into their new music. Good news though, I’m excited to hear what happens.
