Scary Movie
Last night, David and I were invited by our friends at Lions Gate Films for an early preview screening of their upcoming new movie The Haunting in Connecticut …

… which I cannot really talk about just yet since the movie is still over a month away from release. I will say that I *really* loved the film and cannot wait to write up a proper review of the film once it gets released on March 27 :)
After the screening, we met up with Mike and Jordan for drinks at O Bar and had a great time catching up. It had been ages since I’ve been able to see either of them so a good time was had by all. For the most part, it was a pretty quiet night.
David and I are in the home stretch of putting the final touches on our place. Since we are planning on having a small gathering here at our place this Sunday, it has to be done by then … I’m pretty sure that we will be doing nothing but work on our home for the next couple of days.
The temps here in SoCal are getting back into the 70s, where they belong, so it looks like it’s gonna be a nice, sunshine day. I hope all y’all are having a great day today as well … happy almost weekend!

Is that supposed to be a tree coming out of his mouth? I hope your Oscar party will be a big success. I’m going to an Oscar party that will no doubt be indoors; it’s about 25 degrees outside here!

Trent: I’m having a White Oscar Party, it’s snowing here in Minnesota!

You know this movie is based on actual events? No joke. The first episode of Discovery Channel’s “A Haunting” series was a 2-hour special about this case.

I hope it was better than that DC episode…

@Dahlia — the movie is scary as hell … so many scream out loud moments, it’s really fun. that being said, there’s some shadowiness … but the scary pay-off is worth it.

I can’t wait for this movie. I watch the Discovery Channel special every time it comes on. I know Ed and Lorraine Warren helped this family. They’re the same people who actually performed the exorcisms and aided the actual Amityville Horror family…Yeah, I’m a geek. But I’m totally stoked for this. Thanks, Trent!!!

@ Shannon……
I watched that too!! It was CREEPY. I hope the movie is as good as the DC. version of events.

OMG I totally want to see this! It looks totally scary. Lately, horror movies just let me down with their nonsense and their safe PG-13 rating(s).

maybe i’ll just rent it. haha

Please show some pics of the place. At least the kitchen and living room. You sure have quite the social life. It would wear me out. I am such a home body. I like going out to dinner. I hate going to the movies, just is not enjoyable for me. I either can’t see over or around the person in front of me, it’s too loud, people talk, the seats aren’t comfortable. If you have to go to the bathroom it’s not like home where you can pause it. I think the last movie I saw at a theater was “Signs”, before that, “Dante’s Peak”. We have a home theater in our basement so we see them when they come out on dvd.

This movie was filmed in my hometown Teulon! I live just a few blocks away from the house they live in in the movie.
