Welp … it looks like the Italian party is OVER for our dear David Beckham. After some very public whining in the press and a failed bid on the part of AC Milan to buy his services permanently for their team, the LA Galaxy has put its foot down and is recalling Becks to return to the Galaxy fold to serve out his contract with them (like a good boy) after his last game with Milan next Sunday … much to his chagrin, I’m sure:

Los Angeles Galaxy today stated that on-loan midfielder David Beckham is due to return from AC Milan as originally planned, despite rampant transfer speculation. The England international joined the Rossoneri on loan from Major League soccer in January in a bid to maintain fitness during the American close season, and did so in some style: Beckham’s form has been a revelation during his time in Italy. So impressive was he, in fact – and so lucrative is his likeness still considered – that AC Milan duly made public their attempt to retain Beckham’s services on a permanent basis. Meanwhile Beckham himself has stated in no uncertain terms that he is eager to remain at San Siro. But LA Galaxy have maintained that they have no intention of losing one of their star assets, their deadline of February 13 for an improved offer from AC Milan having long since passed. Today they confirmed this stance in a phone interview with Goal.com’s Andrea Canales, stating that Beckham will return to the Golden State as planned. “He plays on the 8th,” said the Galaxy press office, referring to AC Milan’s Serie A encounter with Atalanta on March 8th. “He’s due to head back after that game.”

Poor Becks. I’m sure he is really sad and upset that the soccer team that he signed a contract with is actually making him honor his legal commitment to them but I’m sure he’ll get over it. After a few weeks of sobbing into his piles of LA Galaxy money, I’m sure he’ll get over his crybaby-ness and will be able to move on like a grown adult man … at least, I hope he can. Still, Sunday is still a few days away … I suppose anything is possible at the last minute. There is new word that the rumors that Becks has moved into George Clooney‘s Italian villa are totally untrue, according to Clooney himself, so … yeah, he should just come home to SoCal where he belongs :) I hope all this nonsense about jumping teams is settled after this weekend … I’m trying to plan on seeing an LA Galaxy game once the season starts up again in a few weeks. Altho he’s being whiny about it, I’m looking forward to watching Becks in action once again as a member of the LA Galaxy.

Irish hottie Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who has previous attempted to get clean by checking himself into rehab two previous times, has decided to give it another go … and has reportedly checked himself into a drug rehabilitation program for a third time. If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again:

Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers has reportedly checked into rehab in a bid to kick his drink demons once and for all. According to website Independent.ie, the Tudors star is attending a recovery center in England to deal with his alcohol problem. It would be Meyers’ third attempt at rehab – in 2005, he spent time at Malibu, California’s Promises Clinic in a bid to get sober, and he underwent further treatment in April 2007. However, he suffered a setback in November 2007 when he was arrested at Dublin Airport by Irish police and charged with being drunk and in breach of the peace. It later emerged that Meyers’ mother had died just days before his arrest. The actor has previously spoken out about his battle with drinking, saying, “When I do (drink) I’m like Bambi. I’m all over the place, hopeless, like a 16-year-old kid. People notice.” And an insider on the Tudors show claims producers warned Meyers about his alcohol intake during filming on the program’s upcoming third season. The source says, “He is one of the nicest guys in the world, he’s a pleasure to work with. He has his demons, and he’s trying to cope with them as best he can.”

I think that JRM‘s commitment to getting clean and taking control of his health and his life is absolutely commendable. Battling addiction is no easy task and it generally takes more than one try at rehab to really get a handle on one’s addictions. In fact, addicts find that they need to combat their demons on a daily basis. I applaud JRM‘s latest attempt to complete a rehab program … and if this one doesn’t take, I hope he tries again and again. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is such an incredibly talented actor … I am really pulling for him to finally get cleaned up … here’s hoping.

To be completely honest, I am not at all impressed. They clearly decided to use an already released promo image for the single artwork … which is fine, I suppose, but considering the stuff we’ve seen from the set of the If U Seek Amy music video, I think they could’ve at least shot a new photo for use as the single’s artwork. Meh. No one buys singles anymore anyways so I guess it’s a moot point.

Additionally, the fan site BreatheHeavy.com has been updated with a bunch of costume sketches that are RUMORED to be from Britney‘s upcoming The Circus starring Britney Spears Tour:

It’s unclear if these sketches are the real deal or if they are merely fan created images. Earlier this year we were tricked TWICE into thinking that longtime lovers Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady got engaged to be married. The first false alarm came from TMZ, the second false alarm came from People magazine. Yesterday, without any warning at all, Gisele and Tom skipped right over the engagement part and went right to the nuptials … the couple got hitched, y’all:

I love it! I knew this wedding was coming … and I knew that they were gonna do it on their terms. Honestly, I didn’t expect the couple to walk down the aisle so soon after the engagement rumors started, I figured they’d pull a fast one closer to the Summer. But, the couple managed to fool everyone and get married right under all of our noses — well played. I gotta say, I’m very glad the couple went straight to the altar and spared us another round of engagement bullshizz. Much love and congrats to them both!!

Filming on the NYC street set of Gossip Girl continues this week as new photos of Ed Westwick, who plays the naughty yet stylish Chuck Bass, shooting scenes for the series continue to make their way to us. Love the outfit, love the facial expressions, love the tongue … love Chuck Bass. The boy does know how to wear an outfit … as much as the Gossip girls tend to rock the fabulous fashions, Ed Westwick‘s Chuck Bass can really hold his own. Over the past few months, Chuck has become my fave character. I’m not usually a fan of the bad boy … but one that can dress as fabulously as Chuck Bass does, well, I guess I can make an exception :) What do y’all think … do you like?

Bromance Alert! It would appear that British actor Orlando Bloom and Aussie actor Eric Bana are the newest bro-friends to spark up a new relationship together. The buds were spotted hanging out together at the Deus Ex Machina motorcycle and bicycle shop in Camperdown, Sydney Australia this week presumably lookin’ to pick up a pair of his and his bikes together … here are a few photos:

I have to tell you, it fills my heart with GLEE at the thought of these two guys hanging out together … they make a very handsome couple … er, of friends ;) I suppose it’s too much to hope that they decided on a bicycle built for two so I guess we’ll have to wait and see if any future photos of the pair cycling together come out. Yes, I am really hoping that they do come out … er, the photos, that is. Yeah, I really like these two together … don’t YOU think they make a great pair of BFFs?

Honestly, he hasn’t really been posting anything worth mentioning (and there are far more interesting folks on Twitter … Neil Gaiman, Amber Benson and Lily Allen to name a few) but … I keep waiting for something. It would appear that the rumors that Paris Hilton has taken up romantically with ex-Lauren LC Conrad boyfriend and ex-Amanda Bynes love interest Doug Reinhardt are true … the couple were spotted making their arrival together in Tokyo, Japan this week — of all places:

While I didn’t think LC and Doug ever made a good couple and I really thought that Amanda was way too good for a guy like him, I fully support this new relationship between Paris and Doug … I cannot think of a pair more suited for one another. Each seems more interested in furthering their vapid fame and notoriety more than pretty much anything else on Earth. A finer couple has never emerged from the emptiness of Hollywood, IMHO. I totally think that Paris deserves a guy like Doug and vice versa. Here’s hoping these two stay together forever … so that other unsuspecting innocents won’t get sucked in by either of them :)

Last night was a great night for me here in at home … I spent all day with my mom and dad and then met up with Sarah, Tracey and Zakiya for a fun dinner together. We grabbed some food at Buffalo Wild Wings in Canton, MI where it was kids night … Zakiya was able to get her face painted, we were able to catch up:

Princess Z was not happy when it was time to leave, which is when she turned on the fake waterworks … tho, her performance last night was prolly much better than the one Katie Holmes was giving on the set of her new movie The Extra Man. But I digress … after dinner, Sarah and I went to my fave coffee house in the whole world — City Coffee in Allen Park, MI. I have spent hours at that place reading and writing. In fact, the creative writing project that I wrote in grad school which eventually turned into Pink is the new Blog was written at City Coffee. The MJR Allen Park Theater is right next door and we popped over to see The Unborn:

That theater was where I saw my first movie ever (The Great Muppet Caper) and has since become a $1 Theater ($1.50 after 6PM). It’s still one of those old fashioned movie theaters — no stadium seating, no multiplexes … just a fun theater. It was really fun being able to go back.

So anyways … The Unborn:

Despite the fact that it was written by the guy who wrote The Dark Knight, it really wasn’t a great film. It featured a poor man’s Megan Fox in a decent story that was very poorly executed. Cam Gigandet is in it and was a nice surprise but not even his hawtness could really save the film. I will say there were a few scary moments … coupled with the nostalgia of seeing it in that old movie theater, well, I guess I didn’t hate it.

So yeah … my quick trip to Detroit is over … I fly back to LA in a few hours … so I’ll be comin’ atcha from the Left Coast tomorrow. Thank you Detroit, I’ll miss you!!
