Michael Phelps Surfaces After Marijuana Pipe Photo Scandal
Michael Phelps is finally showing his face again in public after scandal broke this past weekend in the wake of a leaked photo of the 14-time Olympic Gold Medalist puffin’ on a humongous marijuana pipe (more commonly referred to as a bong). One day after the photo hit the Internets, Phelps released a statement thru his representatives that expressed his regret over the behavior exhibited in the aforementioned photo. Today, for the first time since the photo came out, Phelps showed up at a Baltimore swimming complex with a beefy bodyguard in tow:
As you might imagine, Phelpsie wasn’t really in a talking mood … he refused to respond to questions that were thrown out at him by photogs and had to be quickly escorted into the building by his husky minder. It remains to be see what, if any, consequences will come from that image damaging photo … but one thing’s certain, for now, Phelps ain’t got nothing to say. Which is OK … his photo has already inspired 1,000+ words on his behalf.

all i have to say is to each his own. & if smokin’ weed is the worst he’s doin’, people need to leave him alone. the gov’t needs to legalize it already anyhow!

Phelps looks stoned in this pic. Poor dolphin boy. :( Really, people need to calm down. He’s human and he he made a mistake, for which he apologized (which I thought unnecessary). The bodyguard is kinda yum. I’d hit it, but would deny it later.

Everyone needs to leave Micheal Phelps alone!! The man won a RECORD BREAKING amount of gold medals! He should be aloud to toke the goodie if he wants too. Micheal, you don’t owe me or anyone else any appologies! ROCK ON MICHAEL PHELPS, ROCK THE FUCK ON!

I don’t feel sorry for Lurch. He’s a moron. Yes, he is the best swimmer on Earth and whatever, but he’s got to understand he is now a role model. Whether he likes it or not, he is supposed to be a role model. But we have way more to worry about as a country than MP getting stoned! At least if he was cute though, maybe the pic would be hot. I’m sure Lurch loves to smoke ‘pipe’ with the other swimmers!

I smoke pot and I agree that it is not a big deal…there is way worse he cold have been caught doing….but that said….it is never a good idea to let someone take pictures of you doing anything illegal….especially if you are newly famous….so hopefully he’ll learn from his mistake and not ever allow anyone to photograph him smoking pot, or doing any other illegal substances….since I’m sure with his new fame, partying, and girls, he has tried way more than pot….haha

Fuck this role model crap. Try telling your kids the truth: sometimes people who smoke weed actually DO have productive lives. Like Michel Phelps. Or the President. It’s okay to admire one aspect of someone’s life with out admiring all sides of it, but don’t ask anyone to support the myth of marijuana as a something worse than alcohol or cigarettes.
This kid treated his body like a temple for years. Let him treat it like an amusement park for a while. Raise your own fucking kids and stop asking Phelps to do it for you.
