Madonna To Be Associated With The ‘Twilight’ Sequel ‘New Moon’?
The latest casting news rumor to come from the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon claims that Madonna will be associated with the film in some way. It is being reported that Maddy’s manager Guy Oseary is producing the film, due out in November, and has reportedly informed E!’s Ryan Seacrest that Madonna will be involved with the film in some way … she could either appear on the soundtrack with a new song OR appear in the film as a character — or both:
Could Madonna’s next move be to shock tweens all over the world? CinemaBlend posted a rumor today that the age-defying sex icon is interested in working on the Twilight sequel, New Moon. We think that Madonna as a vampire could be sexy, but could also gives us nightmares. Just look at those arms—she could easily devour any victim with her bare bones. Looks like another reason for this ’80s-but-still-rocking star to fuel a new awe factor into a generation she has yet to infiltrate. Parents beware!
Personally, I ain’t buyin’ it … but if Oseary really is producing the film, then he absolutely could involve Madonna in whatever way he sees fit. Truth be told, I could see Madonna pop up in a cameo role capacity … even if she does appear in the film (which I still feel is highly unlikely), it wouldn’t be in any high profile capacity. A song on the soundtrack is more likely. My guess is that we’ll find out if this rumor is true or not sooner rather than later. But what do y’all think … good idea or does it just plain suck?

Definitely hope this is a rumour. Sure, Madonna’s got the scary pale thing going on, but I definitely don’t think it’s fitting with the series. I don’t think I’d even vote yes for a song on the soundtrack.

Honestly, I kind of pictures a red-headed Madonna as Victoria when I originally read the series and I guess I could picture her as Jane or whatever, but I am really hoping that this is just a rumor.

I like Madonna, but seriously, the Twilight series has become too star struck! Part of the reason for Twilight’s success is that the actors were not huge tabloid stars and I feel that I was able to get into the characters more for it. Now, a new rumor about some big star is cropping up every week. New Moon is becoming less about the fabulous story and more about big name celebrities. It takes away a lot of the anticipation for the movie for me. :(

For me that would totally suck. What I liked about the books was the indie feel to them. I am not liking how the movies are starting to go. I liked the first one b/c it was fully of mostly unknowns. Keep it that way.

Absolutely not, Madonna needs to stop it right now. Katie I agree, all the rumors about stars showing up in the movie are kind of a bummer, I would much rather see the story develp more than see Madonna’s crazy ass in there basking in her own fame yet again. Same thing with Dakota Fanning; I didn’t really see Jane as a CHILD in my head when I was reading the series.

She’d ruin it for sure, she is not a good actress at all. I’m kind of getting annoyed at all these celebrities wanting to be apart of the movie. They are going to ruin it if they make it out to be some big hollywood production. They should just try to make the movie as close to the book as possible and stop thinking about hiring huge celebs to promote it more, it will only hurt the film in the end.

she is WAYYYYYYY too old to be doing a role in the twilight saga. The whole idea is that the vampires are supposed to be younger and beautiful, she is neither of these things.

I hate that all these famous people are getting involved. One of the reasons the movie was so good was because the actors weren’t A-list actors or stars, like Madonna. Dakota Fanning and the girl from 90210 getting involved, I can see, Vanessa Hudgens or Madonna, nope don’t see it.

I agree with Kristin, too many famous people are getting involved. There needs to be no name good actors just like in Cloverfield.

EW NO. I’m sorry but I really don’t care for Madonna AT ALL. I think that it’s fantastic she still has such success at her age but please don’t ruin twilight. Granted it took a brutal beating with the movie- the books are by far better – but seriously don’t put her in the movie and dont put her on the soundtrack. Her style is not fitting for this genre and not with the storyline at any rate. ICK

LOL Hannah!! You guys Madonna bought the rights to the book a loooong time ago and it was in the backburner at Maverick films. She’ll probably produce some haunting song for the film…and mind you that whenever she has supplied a song for a film they’ve all been hits. Anyone remember the soundtrack for Austin Powers, The Matrix, The Wedding Singer…? Those were all her contributions. She knows what she is doing and she wouldn’t kill a cash cow that is Twilght.
