Madonna made a brief appearance at the 81st Annual Academy Awards this past Sunday … tho, she only did so away from the Kodak Theater where the awards show took place and popped up, instead, at a couple of afterparties. While all eyes were focused on her to see if she would be carting around her much younger boytoy Jesus Luz, celeb-watchers noted that Maddy was lookin’ fresh-faced and much younger than her 50 years:
A remarkably fresh-faced Madonna attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party last night – looking much younger than her 50 years. The recently divorced star revealed a glowing complexion – just days after being photographed with red raw, angry-looking skin. There had been speculation the mother-of-three had endured a beauty treatment ahead of the ceremony. She picked a floor-length black gown which showed off her toned arms and wore her hair in a casually tousled mane. And it certainly seems to have paid off – for Madonna looked even younger than she had at the Oscars two years ago. The Like A Virgin singer attended with her husband at the time, Guy Ritchie, again opting for a floor-length black gown. But the singer’s face looked visibly more lined back then. Madonna, who watched ex-husband Sean Penn pick up a gong for his performance in Milk, was perhaps making an extra effort to stand out in the wake of her divorce. In her new pursuit of all things young, the star is now dating 22-year-old Jesus Luz.

Let me preface this next section by stating for the record, I LOVE MADONNA! I LOVE MADONNA! I LOVE MADONNA! That being said … YIKES!
In her Madgesty‘s favor, it should be noted that she’s only got a few hairs on her chinny, chin chin. Yikes! Not a good look, I’m afraid. Madonna might want to make sure she handles her biz better before she goes out in public. Facial hair works on someone like Hugh Jackman, Madonna … notsomuch.

Looks more like veins to me than hair. I mean if that’s hair, it’s so long that you can’t help but notice it- you can practically braid it! ;)

Love the hair….reminds me of the Deeper and Deeper days. I think those are veins BUT she is Italian and judging by her crotch picture that sold for thousands, hmm…I wonder if Madge congratulated Sean P. Or, if she actually saw Milk. It’s too bad Harvey Milk died before Madonna was a huge star!

Good to see she’s actually hot again. After the W photospread, I had just thought it was photoshop magic, but apparently it’s plastic surgeon magic!
Veins
Looks like some swollen capillaries to me. Post-facial? The woman is 50. We bitch when people get surgery to look younger, and whine when they look their age. Then we have the audacity to bemoan that women over 40 don’t get roles in Hollywood, shoved aside by twinkies who can’t act worth a damn. We’re all hypocrites, and I’m certainly not above including myself in that. The bottom line is that we’re all going to be 50 one day (goddess willing), so maybe we should all just STFU. Madonna’s earned the right to say, do, or look however she wants. *climbs off soapbox*

Anyone critisizing the way this woman looks, stand up, go to the nearest mirror and take a look. Get the point? She is fabulous. With makeup, without makeup, whatever. The woman is amazing and beautiful and we all should be so lucky.
She looks dazzling, but that still doesn’t make up for Hard Candy, her worst album to date..even more than American Life. She has morphed into this young thing..hanging out with younger producers and male models,etc..she’s more of a follower now, not a leader. And trust me, I am one of the biggest Madge devotees on this Earth. I just miss Madonna circa 1992-1995, but she is 50 now. I have to accept it!! And as for Hollywood’s treatment of women after 40, it makes me SICK. We heard the big news that Jennifer A turned 40, but did we hear commotion when Brad P turned 40 five years ago? NO!
I think she looks good. But I don’t think she looks “younger” than 50. She looks her age, but graceful.
This latest incarnation appears to me to resemble Lindsay Lohan a bit. And I think (hope?) those are veins, not hair.

Her arms are disgusting. I like Madonna so-so but my mom is 53 and looks way better than Madonna and she doesn’t even get botox or any of that other junk.

I personally prefer people who age gracefully naturally. I also prefer girls who don’t bother with that stuff at a young age (i.e, Hilary Duff appearing as if she got something stuffed in her lips! GROSS). I’m kinda sad Madonna might not be going au naturale :(
