Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Are Dunzo!
Sad news to pass along to all y’all HaLo fans … US Weekly is reporting that Heroes co-stars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have decided to end their romantic involvement with one another. They’re dunzo, y’all!
Heroes costars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have called it quits, Usmagazine.com has learned. “It was a lifestyle conflict,” a source close to the couple tells Us, adding that the split happened within the last week. “They were in very different places.” Adds the insider, “They are still on friendly terms. There are no hard feelings.” The source tells Us that Panettiere, 19, “is young. She likes to go out in the Hollywood scene and that’s not his style.” Ventimiglia, 31, “has been concentrating on work on his production company [Divide Pictures],” the source adds. The two, who began dating in 2008, had been an open secret for months – in part because of their 12-year age gap.
Boo! This is sad news … I really thought that HaLo really made a supercute couple. Despite the age difference, they always looked so happy to be with one another … I’m bummed they’re dunzo. I wonder if that rumor that Hayden was spied making out with Jesse McCartney had anything to do with the break-up. I hope that the make-out session happened after the couple decided to call it quits — and wasn’t the cause of the split. I’m glad to know that the pair have decided to remain friends. It’s still a bit sad that they couldn’t make it work :(

I sort of hope this is true. I just think it’s kind of gross. She is WAY younger than him at this point in life. If she was like 28 and he was 40, it wouldn’t be so bad. But she is still a teenager. She can’t even legally drink yet. There is just a HUGE difference between a 19 year old and 31 year old. I hope they both find someone more appropriate for themselves.

Im surprised they broke up, but come on now did he really expect anything different? She’s 19 and he’s 31 the age alone should have been a red light to him that their life styles would be different.

It’s always sad when a beautiful young couple like this breaks up, but I’m happy to hear they’re still friends. I tend to believe this report: Trent seems to know Milo, and if I’m not mistaken, has hinted recently that he’d heard things weren’t going all that well.
Personally, I have never had a problem with the age gap. This is probably because I’m older than both of them, so a) they both look like kids to me, and b) I know from experience that although you may think it does when you’re 15 years old, your life doesn’t actually end when you hit 30. You don’t just change your lifestyle and start looking for someone to settle down and have kids with. Some of us have a different focus, and are happy to make connections and have fun with someone when we can.
Regardless, it’s irrelevant now. I just wish them both the best. Hayden seems like a sweet girl (and I admire her passion about the whaling issue), and Milo, from what I’ve read, is a genuinely lovely guy. He also seems very protective of his private life, which is entirely understandable. This very public relationship must have been quite difficult for him.
I hope 2009 brings happiness to both of them.

she left gorgeous Milo for Jesse McCartney! i know there was a huge age gap but that should never define their relationship. i really loved them together and pray that Hayden is only on the rebound and not sereously dating Jesse McCartney! that would be way worse than the age difference of the previous couple. i will truly miss HaLo :( hopefully it doesn’t make Heroes awkward.

I really loved them together , they looked so in love and always kept their relationship low profile , i love each of them to pieces and together they made one of the most adorable couples , sad day :( i really hope that they remain friends for the sake of the show , love ya halo , i’ll miss you and sniff not pretty pics to look forward to now :/

i wasnt disturbed by the age gap, but i think something would be very wrong if they WEREN’T in the different places in their lives. if they were on the same page, i think that would be a bit strange.

I agree with Coco, even though I dont think age should matter when it comes to love I also think that that depends on the stage of life you are at. It is different if you are an 18 year old girl dating a 30 year old than a 30 year old dating a 42 year old. An 18 year old is never ever going to want the same things a 30 year old wants, there’s a huge difference in their emotional inteligence and that is what eventually will tear them appart. What could be an interesting subject of conversation between them? “Oh yes, my barbie doll used to date a Ken doll that had your exact same shirt” (?) I’m 30 and I honestly wouldn’t find it interesting at all to stablish a relationship with a teenager. I might do some naughty things if he’s hot like Effron but that’s it. I love Milo but it is quite weird that he felt comfortable in a relationship with a teenager while he is deffo NOT. That is a sign of a huge lack of emotional matureness. At least that’s the way I feel it.

I’m with ya CoCo… the age difference is a big deal w/19 & 31…that gap seems less important the older you get, but at 19 you wanna go out & party and at 31 you’re a little more laid back. Was cute while at lasted… they’re both hot – they won’t be single long…. let the hook ups begin!! : )

That’s a bit of old news. Check out this post from December 22, 2008 that says that Hayden and Milo haven’t been seen together since late November and that she was seen with Jesse McCartney twice. Obviously Hayden and Jesse have been dating for over a month, if not two. They’ve also known each other a while – you can file pictures of them together from 3-4 years back.

@pam: Come on, really? Is that the way your conversations ran when you were 18? Because back when I was 18, I was in my second year of university, living away from home and working two part time jobs. I’m sorry, but the way the U.S. seems to simultaneously infantilize and yet sexually idolize young women like this really stuns me. She seems like a smart woman. She can go out with whoever she wants, and whoever does go out with her shouldn’t be vilified for being “emotionally immature.” Because that’s pretty condescending to both of them, and quite presumptuous, given that none of us have met either of them. Just my opinion, of course.

If their genders were reversed not as many people would have found them so “cute.” You know it’s true! There is a huge double standard.
I have always found Hayden to be more mature than her peers. She is out there involved in organizations that matter and I think that’s awesome. But she obviously still likes to go out and have fun. She has a good balance going.
Despite the talk about age and our own opinions on it, I really think their lifestyles clashed and it had less to do with age than it did common interests. Lots of couples separate because of it.

I was obviously exagerating to make my point. I do believe there’s no way an 18 year old and a 31 year old are in the same point in their lives and want the same things, if they do one of them is not doing things right, one is skipping or the other one doesn’t want to grow up.
You said it, none of us have met either of them so Im not that sure she is a smart “woman” (she is still a teenager I wouldnt call her a woman) and of course she can go out with whoever she likes but that doesnt make it ok. I wonder whether it would be ok if in the future your daughter brings home a 31 year old dude, I’m sure I would talk to my son and try to get through to him and explain that sooner or later they will realise they dont have much in common and they want different things in life.
I love Milo but I do think that it is weird of him to be hanging out with an 18 year old girl. Let’s not forget that they started hangin out when she was 17 and they waited until she turned 18 to make it public. It is just weird.

ohhhh I just learned that Halo have split :( I feel bummed too, Trent and very sad , well I guess it was great while it lasted , i love them and it was awesome to get to see these two get together and fall in love. And maybe someday who knows ? they can try again. :( I wish them the best , I’ll miss this pairing. So cute and pretty together.
I’ll always be a Hayden/Milo supporter <33 two of the coolest , down to earth, talented peeps in the industry .
