OY! What a day it’s been … waking up to major tech problems that shut down my site for a considerable amount of time was not the way I wanted to start my first day in my new home but, there you have it. Okay, lemme backtrack, tho, and catch y’all up from Saturday afternoon … David arrived at 3ish on Sat. and we met with the realtor to pick up our keys — that was the first moment that David got to see the apartment in person. After running and skipping thruout the house (and no lie, David was doing somersaults in the living room) we grabbed a bite to eat and went to see Taken:

As you may know, Taken was the #1 movie at the box office this weekend … and rightly so, it was a really great film. Part Jason Bourne, part Jack Bauer — Liam Neeson‘s character Bryan Mills kicked all kinds of ass to save his daughter from certain doom. I was most pleased to see that Aussie actress/singer Holly Valance is featured in the film as well. She plays a successful popstar (named Sheerah!!!) that needs to be saved from a vicious attack … again, Bryan Mills to the rescue. The movie was surprisingly entertaining … the action scenes were very cool. Luc Besson, the guy who wrote The Transporter movies, co-wrote this film so you can be assured, the action delivers. We both loved the film, it was a fun time at the movies.
Yesterday was the big move day … to be honest, we spent the entire day just sitting around watching the movers pack up and move my stuff. It may have taken Carrie Bradshaw “4 friends + 3 days to put 20 years into 38 boxes” but it took me 4 Russian movers 10 hours to put 2 1/2 years in about 85 boxes. Okay, mebbe not 85 but a helluva lot, that’s for sure. But, we’re here … we slept in my bed, in our new home together … twas very nice.
Today, tho, the tech problems came and, well, it’s to be expected. I still have work to get thru today and then a bunch of errands to run after a handyman comes to fix a few things. Ah domestic life, it so begins.

Good luck with your new home. Let us know when the house warming party is :)
I cant wait to see taken, I’m seeing it Friday night. :)
Ah, glad everything’s sorted now and you can focus on settling into your new life! How exciting :D Congrats & all the best.
I do like Luc Besson so maybe I’ll check this out…but the storyline of rescuing a kidnapped kid is don’e more frequently than an amber alert

Moving sucks!! No bueno but congrats on the new house! Put up some pictures:)!!
So happy for you guys…i feel like you never take your blessings/life for granted and live to fullest and that is inspiring…congrats home skillet

Domestic life is a beautiful thing. We wanna see some pics of the place. I understand if you want to wait till you are more settled. I hated unpacking and putting it all away.
How is Taken only out in America now?! Its been out on DVD for a while now here in Ireland, I thought the US always had the movies first lol
You do realize we need pics of the new pad!!
Congrats to the both of you! What a huge, exciting milestone. I hope that this is just one of many in a very happy, long life together.
I take it that David liked the new place?
Congrats. btw I loved Taken. I was literally sweating. lol
Congrats. Sounds very exciting and fun. I was actually surprised to hear that it was David doing the somersaults, I took him to be the more “serious” of the couple, lol.
Though I must say, I think that’s pretty racist to be referring to the movers by their race. I bet you if they weren’t “foreigners” you wouldn’t have mentioned their race ;~P *since this is the internet, insert huge sign of sarcasm here*
My partner and I finally moved in together after almost 3 years and things are going great! We wish you all the best and are big fans!
Hubby and I saw Taken last night and love love loved it, as well! It was totally unrealistic, but for some reason, I wasn’t bothered by that fact at all. Liam Neeson was awesome!
Congrats on the new phase of your relationship! I hope it is everything you imagined and more.
Congrats on the new place and taking that next step in your journey. It’s so exciting to transition through these defining moments.
Sheila
Yay! Congrats to you boys — so when’s the housewarming party?!? You should totally vlog something like that! (altho I can certainly understand a desire for privacy too ;-)
also, @gumby, I totally don’t understand your comment – Russian is not a race (at least not the last time I checked… and I check OFTEN). Even if you’re sarcastic it still doesn’t make sense.
What is with all the accusations of racism flying around this blog lately? I don’t like that, I’m not accustomed to seeing that on here and I hope it fizzles out soon.
I thought ‘Taken’ came out ages ago? It’s out on DVD here in Australia. I absolutely loved it. So Jack Baueresque!
Best wishes to you and David in your new home!
I saw the movie Sunday. So good.
