My dear friend Ollie Twittered the funniest video I’ve seen in a very long time and I feel incumbent to share it with all y’all. Here is video of a young boy talking to his father after having a tooth pulled … as you’ll see, the poor little guy was still feeling the effects of the laughing gas that was administered to him. Trust me, the vid is worth watching in full to the end:
Cheers to the industrious father who decided to share this awesome video with the world! This has to be my fave amateur You Tube video of all time (tho THIS video of Aretha Franklin’s Inauguration back-up singer is pretty hilarious, too). LOL!!!! Doesn’t going to the dentist look like so much fun?

Abby it’s just a harmless video showing the after effects of anesthesia in a child. It could be much worse. Some children wake-up violently, thrashing arms and all.

Sorry but that was not that funny..the only funny part was the screaming, though it was scary at the same time. I think this Dad should be more respectful of his son than post this video. I definitely expected more! This was a cute vid, not that hysterical.

When my husband woke up, he couldn’t talk and I gave him paper to write on, instead he drew cat poop. o_O It’s pretty funny what that does to you. And Abby you need to chill. Even as a mother this doesn’t bother me.

Lulu, it is not the video that bugs Abby , I think..it is the fact that the Dad actually posted this on YouTube. It’s just lame…but yeah, it’s cute. The kid is cute. Still, it did not make me laugh and I don’t get why Trent found it funny. We all have different views on comedy, right?

awww that poor child, it breaks my heart he got scared there for a minute. Why wasn’t the car moving, the guy stopped the car to video tape the kid like that? I don’t get it.
Weird thing, I don’t even know how that gas feels like, dentist don’t use that here in argentina. They use some sort of local anesthetics that’s totally annoying but at least you don’t end up groggy just trying not to drool for an hour hahahaha

I thought that was sad. Legal or not, I think it’s really disturbing to see kids on drugs. Very, very disturbing, actually. I’m surprised more people weren’t uncomfortable watching this.

I don’t know how any posters are finding this disturbing. It’s not as if his parents were letting him smoke a joint. If you read the dad’s description of the video on the Youtube link, it’s actually quite sweet why he was filming it all. BTW the kid probably was recovering from being under deep sedation as laughing gas (nitrous) doesn’t cause this type of reaction.

I work at an oral surgeons office and I get to see this kind of stuff day in and day out. The little kids are the best cause they tend to get like this. I actually had a patient propose to me in a serenaden while he was drugged up.
It’s harmless to laugh at this…the kid is a happy drunk. It’s not like he’s going to remember it anyway.

Some of you really need to lighten up. It’s not like this dad is exploiting his child for money or something equally awful. If my dad posted a vid of me like this at that age, I’d find it hilarious. Completely harmless!

@ Aly.. I’m sure he was just trying to make sure he wasn’t in any real pain. Sometimes with children you need to do it lightheartedly or they will attach onto your fear and create pain or amplify what they are actually experiencing.
Truly I don’t get why people are upset, honestly. I can picture this as being on America’s funniest videos. AS LONG as you understand the context, and that he was not in any danger, and this is normal for what he went through.
He was put under, this is a typical reaction!
I bet this is something he and his family will laugh at for years to come!

Not even a little impressed. I agree that Dad was off base to stop and video his child in this condition. It wouldn’t surprise me if the kid barffed after the record button was turned off. I hope there is not a history of drug use in this family. This dad was reinterating “Doesn’t that feel good.”, cute? Will it be funny when he is 17 and on a street drug? I know that just because he likes it doesn’t mean that he would become an addict. I do find it odd though, why encourage the high? Make it seem cute, laugh like the kid did something cool? Hopefully he doesn’t associate dad’s wonderous approval with this feeling… I wonder how cute this dad would find a teenager on heroin. It won’t be so cute then.

God, I’m sick of people misusing the word “incumbent.” To say “I feel incumbent…” is downright, 100% incorrect. Correct usage: “It is incumbent upon me…” Otherwise, one can use it as a noun (”The incumbent is running for reelection.”) or as an adjective (”The incumbent senator is running for reelection.”).

It is a cute video, but at the same time i find it really disturbing… we drug up our kids too much these days.. when i was little, i didnt need laughing gas to pull my teeth.. this is just insane, poor little kid is tripping out. what are we teaching kids about drugs.. it is just so unneccessary. poor little thing.

As a Pediatric RN for 15 yrs………this is common and Hilarious!! Some kids come of the drugs cussing & yelling, yep, that’s funny as well. Its true the kiddies have no memory of the medical work done or coming off the drugs. Chillax people, in the sad world we live in its great to have a good laugh!

It is funny. but are you actually condoning drugs for a tooth pulled? its utter nonsense.. whatever happened to just pulling it out. People are living blind if they have not realized the effects always giving our kids drugs for the simplest of ailments and procedures. How is this in the least bit disturbing? No one is making fun of the little boy, we’re giggling at what the stuff did to him. What it does to everyone, and it would be funny to see anyone’s video. The dad probably just wanted to share some of the absurd things his kid was doing, I know that I’ve often wished I had videoed the insane things my nieces and nephews have done just while they’re sleepy let alone on cold medicine and things like that. And I doubt seriously it was just a pulled baby tooth since they did have to give him gas, and he had stitches. Chill out guys. And Abby Miley Cyrus was offending half of the world population, this dude was videoing something cute his kid was doing. Bit of a difference.
