‘Friday The 13th’ Premieres
Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill

Jared Padalecki, Derek Mears, Michael Bay and others were on hand for the LA screening premiere of the new Friday the 13th remake film which was held at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA last night. As you may be aware, Friday the 13th will open in theaters this Friday, the 13th, and promises to bring new life to the classic horror flick. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals last night:

I understand that this new version of the film will amp up the terror to make it more palatable to today’s audience. In the classic Friday the 13th films (all ten of them), Jason Voorhees was a lumbering hulk that quietly stalked his prey before he inflicted horrible and sometimes ironic death upon his victims. In the new version, I hear, Jason is a bad ass that runs at normal speeds and then brutally inflicts even gorier death upon his victims. You gotta love an upgrade. I am a huge fan of the original film (and Part 2 … I kinda lost interest after that … tho Jason Takes Manhattan was kinda LOL-worthy) so I hope this new version does the original justice. I’m encouraged that Michael Bay, who produced the exceptional Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, worked on this film … he knows how to bring the gore and update it to modern standards. I can’t wait to see this flick this weekend … what a great way to spend Valentine’s Day — cuddled up into the nook of a loved one’s chest at a horror film :) Are any of ya’ll interested in seeing this flick/planning on seeing it this weekend?

….I wish I had friends (or a boyfriend) that appreciated the combination of horror films and Jared Padalecki.

Sadly, none of them even appreciate horror films.
    :(

I cant wait! We’re going to the Drive-in to see it! CLASSIC!

  3. Michelle says:

Yes and no… I liked the Texas Chainsaw remake so I kinda want to see how they do with this one but then again I’ve already seen my fair share of Mike Meyers movies and well you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all. Horror flicks don’t generally scare me anyway so I sit there and try and guess the order the cast is killed. I think I’ll pass!

I’m so totally geeked to see this movie. I’m a huge horror fan, both bad and good ones. I don’t discriminate. If it’s a horror movie I will watch it. I aske my boyfriend to see this movie with me for Valentine’s Day on Friday the 13th. We’re seeing Joel McHale on the actual day, but obviously I have to see Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th!! Chh Chh Chh…Haa Haa Haa Haa!!!

  5. Brenda says:

In case you have no idea what “Chh Chh Chh..Haa Haa Haa Haa!!” is—it’s the classic sound in the Friday the 13th movies when the killer is stalking.

  6. Janelle says:

Awww Jared Padalecki! I love love him. The movie is a must see despite Michael Bay.

  7. Aidan says:

    Jared Padalecki = WIN

  8. Heather says:

Let me start by saying that I’m excited for this movie because I’m a fan of the good ol horror movies like Halloween, Friday the 13th, etc. BUT, if this is supposed to be a remake of the original, they’re kind of failing. Jason’s mother was the killer in the original! But anyway I read about this movie and it doesn’t seem to have the same storyline as the original so I guess we’re good.

Jason Padalecki was in House of Wax and now this? So weird to see Dean (Gilmore Girls) in all these horror movies!

  9. Anna says:

I would very much like to see this. What I am hoping is that they maintain the whole mother element that was crucial in the first one—or at least give it some sort of mention. That it was a crazy ass middle aged lady doing all the killing was the best thing about it, for me.

  10. Does everyone remember in the opening scene of “Scream” when the killer is on the ‘phone to Drew Barrymore’s character, he asks her a couple of questions so she “has a chance to live” (of course, she gets killed anyway) and one of those questions was,
“Who was the killer in “Friday The 13th”…?” and she replies,
“Jason, it was Jason!” and of course, she gets it wrong, because it was NOT Jason in the first movie, it was MRS. VORHEES! I just hope in this remake (which was totally pointless anyway) they stick to the original plot.

  11. Schmooie says:

Jared! Unfortunately, I will not be seeing this movie as I can’t handle horror movies like this. But still…..Jared=WIN!!

  12. kara says:

@ Heather: You get kind of used to it if you watch Supernatural every week. I get freaked out seeing him as Dean now, and Gilmore Girls is like…my favourite show ever.

  13. Ally says:

SOOOO EXCITED. I have a Valentine’s date with my best girl friend on Friday to see this. :) From all the clips I’ve seen, it looks AWESOME.

  14. Danielle says:

I’m seeing an early showing of it thursday and numerous times throughout the weekend. I CANT WAIT.

  15. Danielle says:

I also heard they aren’t obviously sticking with the ORIGINAL friday but combining the first three to make it possible for Jason to even be in this one. Also, doesn’t he run in the 2nd or 3rd one of the original… it would make sense he ran in the remake if they were indeed combining 1 thru 3.

  16. Kiara says:

    @ brenda –

The stalking sound is actually “Ki, Ki, Ki, Ki, Ma, Ma, Ma, Ma”…it is supposed to mean “Kill Mommy”

So excited for this movie to come out in Australia…I LOVE JARED PADALECKI!!!
