First Look: Britney Spears, ‘If U Seek Amy’ Single Artwork
BritneySpears.com has been updated with our first look at the cover artwork for Britney’s new single If U Seek Amy … behold:

To be completely honest, I am not at all impressed. They clearly decided to use an already released promo image for the single artwork … which is fine, I suppose, but considering the stuff we’ve seen from the set of the If U Seek Amy music video, I think they could’ve at least shot a new photo for use as the single’s artwork. Meh. No one buys singles anymore anyways so I guess it’s a moot point.
Additionally, the fan site BreatheHeavy.com has been updated with a bunch of costume sketches that are RUMORED to be from Britney’s upcoming The Circus starring Britney Spears Tour:

BreatheHeavy.com was just sent what appears to be Britney’s tour outfit sketches, autographed by the artist. Kick ass!
It’s unclear if these sketches are the real deal or if they are merely fan created images. The sketches aren’t really that spectacular but the costumes are so … I figured they were worth passing along just in case they turn out to be genuine. After the jump, check out a few more of these rumored sketches …

The costuming in these sketches is pretty inventive … but, again, my gut tells me they’re not real. But, in just a few weeks time, we’ll know for sure what’s what when Britney kicks off her tour in New Orleans next month! The time is nearly here, I can’t hardly wait. What do y’all think of A.) the If U Seek Amy artwork and B.) the validity of these sketches? Do we like?

The single cover is blah, but she looks pretty! The costumes are pretty effing sick..I still haven’t gotten tickets to her show and it’s killing me!!
February 27th, 2009 at 6:22 am
Yeah cover not so great… Costumes tho are very ‘Circus’ like lol I like them!!
February 27th, 2009 at 7:17 am
I guess I’m nobody because I usually only buy singles…electronically but I buy only the songs I like and not the album.
February 27th, 2009 at 7:29 am
@Spice — right, I meant that no one buys the actual physical cd singles any more, everyone buys electronically.
February 27th, 2009 at 7:35 am
I have to agree I just love the costumes they are sick!!!! Love them I Brittany would look smoking in all of them hope we get to see her in them!!

Her eyebrow looks very blonde, blonder than I’ve seen before I think. Weren’t they darker before? Either way, I like the pic.
February 27th, 2009 at 8:22 am
She is no pop icon, sorry :(
February 27th, 2009 at 8:24 am
Kent- It looks like she has makeup on her eyebrows. They look powdery.
February 27th, 2009 at 8:30 am
So I thought I’d go look at some other pics of Brit, but I can’t find her name in your Categories, Trent. Maybe the caffeine just hasn’t kicked in yet, but I can’t see it anywhere…
February 27th, 2009 at 8:57 am
@Avi — I’m afraid she is a pop icon, even if you don’t like it ;)
February 27th, 2009 at 8:59 am
@Kent — there isn’t a category for individual folks … there’d be way too many. she is tagged, so a search for Britney Spears will pull up everything :)
February 27th, 2009 at 9:10 am
the single artwork is boring, but pretty.
i so hope these are the real costumes cuz they look pretty cool. the sketches are awesome.
i cannot wait to see her, i have never seen her in concert. 2 weeks!!
February 27th, 2009 at 9:17 am
The costume sketches are ridiculously gorgeous. I hope they are real!
@avi- you must be delusional if you think that Britney is not a Pop icon. Seriously.
February 27th, 2009 at 9:21 am
Sorry Trent, she’s only a pop star, not an icon. Icon means so much more..icon means Madonna, Janet, Gloria. I never find Brit to be authentic or making the most of her career. She did no promo work for Blackout other than the interview with Ryan Seacrest, and real icon’s WORK it! There is a big difference between pop star and pop icon Trentie :)
There’s just no emotion or feeling to her music in my opinion. The lyrics are , ok I’ll stop while I’m ahead before I get hated on.
February 27th, 2009 at 9:33 am
@Avi — I would bet you good money that Britney Spears will be remembered for many, many years to come. She’s kinda like Madonna and Michael Jackson all in one. And I would not consider Gloria (Estefan) an icon.
February 27th, 2009 at 9:33 am
@avi-she didn’t do promo work for blackout b/c she was having a lot of personal issues at that time. now she is getting it together and she is doing promo work for this album. people go through things, it’s normal.
she is an icon, whether you want her to be or not
February 27th, 2009 at 9:52 am
@Trent – ah, yes of course, thx … I kinda shoulda been able to figure that out for myself, eh?! Clearly the caffeine had/has not kicked in! Oh well, I ain’t ever been one for mornings ;-]
Even though Gloria appeared with other true icons on Divas Live or whatever that series was called, she’s about as much of an icon in my eyes as Lisa Lisa. Both are fine, but icon? Uh-uh.
February 27th, 2009 at 9:56 am
@Avi…the reason Britney didn’t do any promo for Blackout is because she was being drugged by her oh so nice ‘manager’.
And like it or not..She is a pop icon….Every person on this world knows Britney…who can’t remember the BOMT outfit 10 YEARS ago..or the red Oops outfit….or her shaving her head…etc etc…
And I love the cover..it’s simple for once…but considering the meaning of the title it could have been a pic that was a bit more sexual lol…
And OMG…TOUR IN 4 DAYS!!!!!
BS.com posted a pic of 16 trucks with the stage and all..16!!!!
February 27th, 2009 at 10:09 am
I KNOW everyone knows who she is..that’s not what I am saying. Can’t I have a right to disagree? If we all had the same mind, we’d be boring. I like Britney, but I don’t think she’s achieved pop icon status yet. She’s a pop STAR. And Madonna went through a LOT of turmoil, so did Janet. Both of them managed to continue working and go on tours.
February 27th, 2009 at 10:12 am
You don’t consider Gloria an icon? Are you serious?? Wow. I am surprised to hear you say that, but I won’t say why. And comparing Brit to MJ and Madge all in one? I like you Trent, but I think a lot of people on this site would agree with me. Even if she’s an icon, you’re comparing Britney to Madonna and MICHAEL JACKSON?? That’s lunacy! Those words are enough to make me stop coming here for a while. Even if one loves Britney, you as a gay man are comparing her to MJ and Madonna???? From one gay to another, that’s insanity.
February 27th, 2009 at 10:37 am
@Avi — what does being gay or Latino have to do with anything? Pop culturally, Britney Spears is right on par with where both Madonna and MJ were at the same time in their careers. I absolutely contend that she will be the pop icon of the early 2000’s … which is an opinion and has nothing to do with my race or sexuality. Saying Gloria Estefan is an icon in the Hispanic community has no bearing at all with being a pop icon. I absolutely agree that she is a major talent, but a pop icon she is not.
February 27th, 2009 at 11:25 am
AVI- She is a fucking pop icon..now shut your mouth and deal with it!
February 27th, 2009 at 11:50 am
whatever avi, You may not consider Brit a pop icon, but Millions of people DO, she’s the Definition of Pop Culture, therefore making her an ICON… =D
lalalalalalalala
lalalalalalalala
lalalalalalalala
love me hate me say what you want about me, but all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek amy!!!
February 27th, 2009 at 12:30 pm
@ Trent- I completely agree with you.
It’s refreshing to see more people stating the obvious that
Britney Spears is a pop cultural icon & achieved legend status.
Shoot, back in 2007 she was an entire Britney ECONOMY.
The costume sketches are so FIERCE!
Gosh, I cannot wait to see B workin’ out glam tour costumes.
Queen Britney ~forever~
February 27th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
I severely disagree with Avi but I don’t think he should get scrutinized for his opinion which is his own. I love Britney and I do find her to be a legend even at the age of 27 years old; she’s amazing. Madonna is so-so but I wasn’t born in her peak of fame so I can’t really say I grew up with her until the middle 90’s. Ever since I have known Madonna in the 90’s she seemed okay and liked adding fuel to the fire quite a lot. In my opinion, Confessions On A Dance Floor has been her best album in awhile. Her new album, Hard Candy, reeks of bad taste and comes off somewhat desperate in my opinion. She is following the trend now instead of making her own like she used to which is fine considering her age and what not but she’ll always be Madonna. Janet Jackson is sort of a joke these days and her last two albums flopped – hard. Anyways, totally went off topic BUTTTTTTT the sketches are cool and the cover is kind of annoying because that one eyebrow is getting on my nerves.
February 27th, 2009 at 1:20 pm
I know some Amy’s that are PISSED, over her using “their” name! lol
But other than that, I’m going to have to agree with AVI….. I think it is you guys’ OPINION that Brit is an icon… (sorry Trent, I luv ya).. and it’s Avi’s opinion (and MINE TOO) that Brit is NOT an icon. (at least, very obviously, not an icon in OUR worlds)…
*Now, can’t we all just GET ALONG?* (yeah, right)..
Is some crazy/stupid/talentless bitch really worth hurting peoples’ feelings over?
Hehe… I just said that stuff at the end to be PLAYFULLY hateful. :)
Some people consider Manson as an icon… I bet there’s LOTS OF Britney’s fans who’d consider THAT insane…
Okay…. you can all attack me now.
February 27th, 2009 at 1:28 pm
HOWEVER: I’d also like to say that I DO think Brit’s new ‘music’ is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than that “oops I did it again” and “hit me baby one more time” BULLSHIT. Both those songs make me sick and got some MAJOR OVERKILL on the radio. Not that I will EVER buy ANY of her music – or even take it for free. Sorry, she grated my nerves from the moment she got on the radio. (and she’s NOT the only one)
February 27th, 2009 at 1:36 pm
@AVI- you are ridiculously deluded if you think Gloria Estefan is an icon. Go to any foreign country and ask the people if they know who Britney is and they say yes; ask if they know who Gloria E. is and they say no.
Britney is an icon whether you like it or not- she has been as followed as Madonna and MJ.
February 27th, 2009 at 4:48 pm
her single covers never seem to get any effort…
February 27th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
britney is an icon, she is iconic of a genre, of an era, and a generation, she represents something – what she represents may be different to different people, but the fact remains that she is an icon and will be remembered in years to come
February 27th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
Brtineys Circus album was A-freaking-MAZING,
this one, not so much, buh its still gorg,
Avi, u annoy me, stop starting stuff with Mr PINTB.
February 27th, 2009 at 9:18 pm
ohh and the costumes are gorg as well.
Buh why oh freaking why is she not coming to Australia ????!
February 27th, 2009 at 9:25 pm

February 28th, 2009 at 3:11 am
