I think she is the type of “old fashioned” classy and pretty that my grandmother’s generation would call “handsome.” That isn’t an insult at all. She isn’t stereotypically pretty but she carries herself with grace and is attractive. I can’t wait to see what she will do alongside her husband.

At first I did not like the cover, but the more i looked at it, the better I liked it. It is nice to see a beautiful strong, talented, powerful woman, who happens to have a good fashion sense along with beautiful, strong, and powerful arms and body (and I don’t mean it in a sexual way, it’s a purely asexual statement).
The only awkward part is the smile. would’ve been better to smile big or not at all… She looks a bit self-conscious about smile, I have always thought. But she is not a model, so the ability to blank out is not expected

To all the models, I’m not meaning that in a bad way, I’m saying this as a model myself, sometimes you have to let go of insecurities and pretend you love everything about yourself…

They chose the picture most likely becasue it does show elegance, but at the same time it shows strenght. Check the figure, the arms and the position of the lower hand

Lauren please..I did not say she was perfect. Read some of the other comments..wtf? I was talking about accomplishment AFTER being the First Lady, NOT before. There is a difference. I never criticized her efforts before being FL. Didn’t you notice that? I never said anything negative about Michelle. I actually said it’s amazing everyone focuses on her style, rather than her hard work!

@Avi — she was born into a low-income family on the South Side of Chicago but kicked ass in school and studied at Princeton and Harvard. She worked for the city of Chicago, was the director of a nonprofit, and then was an executive at the U. Chicago hospital. AND she’s a great mom and obviously in an equal, peer-to-peer relationship with her husband. All in all I think she’s accomplished a lot already… I don’t see any “pre” judgement here. And you’re the only one saying she’s “perfect”.

The lousy republicans that my parents play bridge with think she’s a dog, kept going on and on about how ugly she is….I think that is why those of us who love the new administration are emphasizing her beauty…when, in reality, she’s just a nice looking lady with a tough role to play. I don’t think the cover photo is appealing at all. She looks very uncomfortable. The other pictures are great, though. I wish everyone would stop focusing on her fashion sense ie J. Crew, and start paying attention to the work she’ll do as First Lady. I respect the praise she has been getting but she has barely been First Lady for a month..not even! Let’s wait to see what happens, maybe? I’m sure she’ll make us VERY proud!!
