As Seen On TV
Yesterday was a very nice day here in SoCal … despite the drizzly rain, the weather was very temperate and the sun managed to come out for a large portion of the day … which meant that LA got to enjoy a couple of rainbows. David and I went to the Beverly Center so that we could find him something to wear to the Grammy Awards today. His stuff from NYC still hasn’t arrived so none of his really nice clothes are here yet … any excuse to shop is a good one, yes? After we found him an outfit and ate at PF Chang’s (which, I don’t care what anyone says, is an amazing restaurant) we paid a little visit to Bed, Bath & Beyond to pick up a few essentials … on the way out of the store we came upon this display:

LOL! Yep, David and I now have a matching set of Snuggies to wear when we are lounging on the couch. Photos to come, I’m sure ;) We also picked up a box of ShamWow towels … it was a good day for As Seen on TV shopping :)
This evening, David and I are heading out to the Grammy Awards — courtesy of our friends at Absolut Vodka — and we are both very excited. I was lucky enough to attend the Grammys back in 2006 but this will be David’s first time. I’m sure we’re gonna have a blast … I’ll do my best to Twitter the night’s events for those of you interested and, of course, I’ll have the full wrap-up tomorrow ;)

February 8th, 2009 at 12:55 pm
SHAM WOW! it’ll have u sayin WOW! lol those commericals are RIDIC!
February 8th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
OMG! I want a ShamWow so much! I usually think infomercials are lame, but I love the ShamWow. The Snuggie, on the other hand, kind of repulses me but also makes me laugh so yes! Tell us how it works!
February 8th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
haha, sham wow is amazing!
My favorite As Seen On TV product has to be Spacebags!
Those things work so good if your moving!
February 8th, 2009 at 1:01 pm
My sister got me the ShamWOW set for Christmas and I love it!!!!!
February 8th, 2009 at 1:06 pm
LOL shamwow-I HATE THAT COMMERCIAL. You are going to look precious in the snuggie. Hilarious.
February 8th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
I have to share this with everyone that I know that has a Snuggie…

@Kelly — LOLOLOL!!! Brills! Thanks for sharing :)
February 8th, 2009 at 1:23 pm
Love shamWow. I want a snuggie. Perfect for reading, your arms can stay warm, unlike a regular blanket. I was wondering if the Debbie Meyer green bags work. I am tired of having my strawberies go bad after 2 days.
February 8th, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Okay, does anyone else think the snuggie looks like a cult member’s robe?I know it sounds ridiculous, but whenever I see that commercial, I get freaked out just a little.
February 8th, 2009 at 1:30 pm
I don’t know Posh, I have never seen TC wear one.
February 8th, 2009 at 1:30 pm
Now you don’t have to take your blanket off to pick up your drink.
February 8th, 2009 at 1:51 pm
I want to make a Snuggie out of ShamWOW. THAT would be ace.
February 8th, 2009 at 2:05 pm
You gotta check out the latest episode of SNL! SNUGGIES were mentioned last night!
Michaela watkins and Kristen Wiig made a skit about Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford!
February 8th, 2009 at 2:31 pm
I am sure they must be comfortable. Everytime I see the TV commercial it looks like you are signing up for that cult that thought a space ship was coming to pick them up and they committed suicide.

especailly the older guy in upper left.

it appears to be contagious
so watch out if you start getting transmissions from outer space when you put your tin foil hat on……… ahahaha
February 8th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
Holy crap, I’ve never heard of the Snuggies thing before… you guys are really taking this “living together” thing seriously aren’tcha? Tee hee, only joking ;-) I look forward to the pics. But it looks like something out of the Da Vinci Code’s costume trailer…
@Kelly – wow that youtube parody is AWE. SOME. and belongs on SNL or something like that.
TRENT! I’m so excited for you boys that you get to go to the Grammy’s… so that’ll be HOW MANY TIMES you’ve seen Madonna live in the course of only a year or so? Lucky you! Have fun and Tweet ALOT so we can follow the fun
February 8th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
Hmmm, let me rephrase that, maybe Madonna’s not playing the Grammy’s afterall – but I SWEAR I saw a promo on TV that she was going to be there. Maybe as a presenter, then? Oh who knows … I guess I’ll find out soon enough.
Meantime I hope you enjoy Adele’s performance – I saw her a few months ago in a tiny-ass club here in Vancouver and she was quite good and seems like quite a sweet girl.
February 8th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
The snuggies are amazing! I feel like a catholic priest with the huge sleeves! lol Enjoy!
February 8th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
I love that you both got snuggies…that’s fabulous- I can’t wait to see the photos!!! I’m very tempted to invest in one myself…
February 8th, 2009 at 3:10 pm
Sorry Trent, but Snuggies?!?!?! When I see that commercial, all I can think is who would buy that thing, and now I’ll just be picturing the two of you. Haha wow.
February 8th, 2009 at 3:11 pm
how do you like your snuggie? i have read glowing reviews and not so glowing. the biggest complaint i have read is he snuggie is thin and falls apart after washing. keep us posted on how it holds up. i would love to have one being here in this cold wisconsin weather.
February 8th, 2009 at 4:09 pm
This “Snuggie” and “ShamWow” craz has got to stop. lol Apparently someone (in the crowd) had on a Snuggie at Barack Obama’s inauguration. I dont believe it. lol
February 8th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
haha i love it. Does the shamwow live up to the hype?? btw..this is the best parody i’ve seen. Trent may have already posted it, I can’t remember how I first saw it.

Snuggie’s are cool but they are actually a knock off of the better quality “Slanket.” They are more expensive, but they are thicker and last forever, unlike the flimsy Snuggies( There is a reason you get two of them with booklights for $19.99!). You don’t even realize what you have been missing until you get one!
February 8th, 2009 at 5:29 pm
they are robes backwards!!
February 8th, 2009 at 6:15 pm
lol, rebecca, my thoughts exactly, what a scam!
February 8th, 2009 at 6:24 pm
The commercials really make me want to buy a snuggie, but really, isn’t just a bathrobe you can wear baskwards?
Still kind of want one though…
February 8th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
Haha thats great that you bought matching snuggies! I would be totally lying if I said I didn’t want one lol!
February 8th, 2009 at 6:45 pm
Hilarious!!
February 8th, 2009 at 6:50 pm
the snuggie makes you look like a monk.
i’m sure it’s comfortable and all, but it’s a little ridiculous in my opinion.
February 8th, 2009 at 7:50 pm
What I really hate about the Snuggies is that they are one size fits all and I’m tiny so I can’t even walk around with it on and isn’t that the whole point of it? and they are SUPER thin.
February 8th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
I agree with Rebecca too. I mean just buy a robe and it’s like a 2 in 1. You get a robe AND a snuggie/slanket.
This honestly looks like some crap you’d buy in magnamail, like the hands-free umbrella.
February 8th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
BTW, i have a fleece blanket WITHOUT sleeves. I got it from Briscoes for $6 (about $3 USD) and I swear it was the best $6 I’ve ever spent. I look like blanket man shuffling around the flat with it, but its so good!
February 8th, 2009 at 8:05 pm
Okay- Is Shamwow a “Wow” or a “Sham”? Seriously. Trent, you’re the final word.

February 8th, 2009 at 8:15 pm
@moi
a hands-free umbrella? i’m intrigued…
February 8th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
@ Kelly – It sort of hooked under your armpit or something haha
February 8th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
The Snuggie is too cool, but I always feel like I could make it myself, yanno?
Please do report on the ShamWoW! and its usefulness or lack of usefulness.
February 8th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
Haha….. wats the matter with just a normal blanket???? I saw an episode of Ellen recently where she was making fun of this product – looks just ridiculous
February 8th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
The only reason I would ever wear a Snuggie is to sit on the toilet at 2 am in the middle of winter… With the lights off!!!
February 9th, 2009 at 8:49 am
On my way to BB&B tonight…..had no idea they carried the Shamwow.
February 9th, 2009 at 9:46 am
shamwow are the bomb!! my mom has been getting them at the international quilt festival for the past few years and they really do work. she said the guy was not there this past year, but he had been there the past few years doing the demo… so want to get a snuggie, let us know if they are worth it.
February 9th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
Oh my god. I can’t wait for the pictures. You guys are adorable…
Do Shamwows actually work!??!?! I’d love some reviews. Haha.
February 9th, 2009 at 1:41 pm
I love my snuggie!
February 9th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
I cant believe you actually purchased that….all it is is a backwards house coat!!!….lol
February 9th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
The ShamWOW guy is the new Billy Mays.
February 10th, 2009 at 8:03 pm
