Madonna made a brief appearance at the 81st Annual Academy Awards this past Sunday … tho, she only did so away from the Kodak Theater where the awards show took place and popped up, instead, at a couple of afterparties. While all eyes were focused on her to see if she would be carting around her much younger boytoy Jesus Luz, celeb-watchers noted that Maddy was lookin’ fresh-faced and much younger than her 50 years:

A remarkably fresh-faced Madonna attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party last night – looking much younger than her 50 years. The recently divorced star revealed a glowing complexion – just days after being photographed with red raw, angry-looking skin. There had been speculation the mother-of-three had endured a beauty treatment ahead of the ceremony. She picked a floor-length black gown which showed off her toned arms and wore her hair in a casually tousled mane. And it certainly seems to have paid off – for Madonna looked even younger than she had at the Oscars two years ago. The Like A Virgin singer attended with her husband at the time, Guy Ritchie, again opting for a floor-length black gown. But the singer’s face looked visibly more lined back then. Madonna, who watched ex-husband Sean Penn pick up a gong for his performance in Milk, was perhaps making an extra effort to stand out in the wake of her divorce. In her new pursuit of all things young, the star is now dating 22-year-old Jesus Luz.

Sienna Miller has teamed up with her older sister Savannah to create a fashion line of women’s clothing which they call Twenty8Twelve and premiered their first ever runway fashion show to debut their Fall/Winter ‘09/’10 Collection at London Fashion Week in front of a packed house of celebs and fashionistas this week. Here are a couple pics of the Miller sisters as they took their turn down the runway at the completion of their show and some info on show and collection:

Last night, the actress Sienna Miller should have been on the red carpet at the Oscars in Hollywood. Instead she was on her knees, on the floor of an old diary in West London, putting the finishing touches to a fashion collection. This was not her latest film role, but a real-life scenario as co-designer, with her older sister Savannah, of the Twenty8Twelve fashion brand. The latest collection, for autumn/winter 09/10, made its catwalk debut at London Fashion Week last night before a packed audience of press, buyers and celebrities, including Courtney Love, Alexa Chung, Kanye West, Francesca Versace, Daphne Guinness, Mary McCartney, Jade Jagger, and Twiggy. The clothes appear, on the surface, a reflection of the two sisters: punk, boho and biker-influenced leather jackets and skin-tight, body-conscious dresses in peek-a-boo stretch for Sienna’s hectic trans-Atlantic, movie-star lifestyle; crystal-embellished cashmere knits, finely-tailored “highwayman coats” and floral-print tunics, perhaps more suited to Savannah’s life as a wife and mother to two children in an eco-friendly, “The Good Life” setting in Gloucestershire. “But put them together and it says London cool,” said Sienna, backstage before the show. “These clothes are funky, and there’s something for anyone.” Must-have items included soft, high-waisted, denim leggings, backless tunics with Swarovski crystal-shoulder-pads – “like an American footballer”, said Sienna – a Charlie Chaplinesque trouser suit in grunge-tweed and a long, black and white, jacquard-knit cardigan-coat in what Savannah called “London camouflage”. The two Miller sisters launched the collection – named for Sienna’s birthday – two years ago. “Sales have been very good, particularly in England and America, and we felt it was the right time to do a show,” Sienna said. “I’m not giving up acting, I love acting. But I also love working with my sister. We’ve always been two sisters playing dress-up, ever since we were kids and we’re still doing it.”

The bad news appears to be this quote from Sienna, “I’m not giving up acting”, but the good news is that Sienna has now got a new endeavor to keep her bizzy and out of the company of other women’s husbands … not that this new venture is gonna stop her from that practice. It’s interesting that with all those celebs packed in the front row of Twenty8Twelve’s first fashion show, Sienna’s married paramour Balthazar Getty was nowhere to be seen. HMMM. The REAL stars of the Academy Award winning film Slumdog Millionaire made their way down to Anaheim, CA yesterday to celebrate their Best Picture win at Disneyland! Ayush Mahesh Khedekar (who played Young Jamal), Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail Sheikh (who played Young Salim), Rubina Ali Rafiq Qureshi (who played Young Latika), Tanvi Ganesh Lonkar (who played Middle Latika), Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwala (who played Middle Salim), Tanay Hemant Chheda (who played Middle Jamal) and Madhur Mittal ( who played older Salim) got to visit the famed theme park that most children around the world dream they could visit. I can only imagine what a thrill it must’ve been for these kids in particular to get to go to Disneyland … which I’m sure was much more exciting for them then it was to win an Academy Award. It’s been a whirlwind few days for the children of “Slumdog Millionaire,” which Sunday scooped up the best picture Oscar. In the four days the children have spent in the U.S., the young stars have been swarmed by paparazzi, met celebrities including Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and partied the night away after their film claimed eight Academy Awards But they’ve also had some amusement park fun. Tanay Hermant Chheda, Tanvi Ganesh Lonkar, Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwalan, Rubiana Ali, Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail Sheik and Ayush Mahesh Khedekar made their first-ever trip to Universal Studios on Friday, checking out the rides and movie-making action. And on Monday, the seven youngsters headed to Disneyland, where they rubbed elbows with Disney stars, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse. On Tuesday, the group will return to India, where celebrations are being planned for the movie’s Oscar wins. The children, two of whom were plucked from the slums of Mumbai for their roles, are being paid a monthly stipend from the film’s producers. They also have trust funds set up, which they will reportedly receive after graduating from school.

OMG, how fun! Disneyland is a treat for kids of any age so I’m sure these kids had the time of their lives. It’s a shame that Dev Patel and Freida Pinto didn’t join them … I know they would’ve had a great time, too. A whole slew of new black & white photos of Lindsay Lohan have been posted at the official website of photographer Hedi Slimane and, at first look, many of them look very stylish … but upon closer inspection, it becomes very evident that Lindsay has slimmed down considerably. Her jutting bones and non-existent weight are on full display in these new photos:

Additionally, some of these photos are very risque and in one in particular, her right nipple is fully visible. This is the first photoshoot where Lindsay has shown off her bare breasts since that infamous photoshoot she did with New York magazine wherein she mimicked the famous last photoshoot that Marilyn Monroe did before she died. Last.fm has published a new rumored set of upcoming Jane’s Addiction tourdates and it turns out that they are all dates the band will be playing in support of Nine Inch Nails when they return to the US to begin their new tour here. All dates, except for the first which is a festival tour date (that NIN will be playing as well) published on Last.fm are dates that Jane’s will play with NIN. Woot! I’m fairly certain that this is just a short list of some of the dates that the bands will be playing together … Trent Reznor has posted a message on NIN.com that “Tour dates for [their] upcoming tour with Jane’s Addiction will be posted soon.” But these dates are a great tease for what’s to come if, in fact, they are the real deal. NIN and Jane’s Addiction … together again … on the same stage … I’m SO dying. I cannot wait until the full list of dates hits the Internets, hopefully soon. Yesterday we saw a few photos of a very shirtless Matthew McConaughey gettin’ his sweat on on the beaches of Brazil where he and his babymama Camila Alves popped up this week on holiday. It turns out that the couple, along with a few other celebs, have trekked down to Rio de Janeiro to partake of the Carnival Street Fair going on there this week. While I would much prefer some nekkidness in these new photos, I guess I don’t mind that the couple appears to be enjoying themselves immensely. They really do make a nice couple and since Camila is from the region, they now have reason to fly down to South America whenever they get in the mood. As you may recall, late last December former NBA star Charles Barkley got busted for DUI after he ran a stop sign late one night in Scottsdale, AZ … and this week, Barkley learned the consequences of his infraction. Pleading guilty to two counts of DUI and admitting responsibility to running a stop sign means that he will have to serve 10 days in jail, 5 if he completes an alcohol consumption class … PLUS he’ll have to pony up $2,000:

Barkley just pled guilty to 2 counts of driving under the influence and pleaded “responsible” to running a stop sign for the December 31 incident in Scottsdale. Barkley was sentenced to 10 days in jail — but will only do five if he completes an alcohol education program. Barkley was also fined $2,000. Barkley will begin his sentence on March 21 — but it’s unclear if he will serve time in Arizona’s famed Tent City Jail, where they make the inmates wear pink. As for the gun cops say they found in Barkley’s car on the night of the arrest — no charges were ever filed.

Honestly, I post this information mainly because it is very rare for celebs to be held accountable for their crimes. I honestly believe that this jailtime is being imposed on him because the incident happened in Arizona. Had this infraction occurred here in LA, I doubt we’d be hearing of any such punishment. Personally, I feel that all DUI cases should result in incarceration. Getting drunk drivers off the street and behind bars not only teaches a lesson but it frees innocent people on the streets from having to deal with another drunk driver … at least for a short time. I’m glad to hear that Charles Barkley manned up and plead guilty to his crime. I hope he learns his lesson in his 5 days of jail and never drinks and drives again.
