If you thought that Luther Campbell got busted post from earlier today took you back in time, wait ’til you hear this AMAZING news … A&E has decided to give MC Hammer his very own reality TV series that will air on the the network sometime this year. Titled Hammertime, natch, the show will focus on the MC, his wife and family. Please, Hammer, don’t hurt us:

A&E has picked up a new series starring ’90s rapper MC Hammer. The performer, his wife and five children will be the focus of a half-hour, 11-episode reality series set to premiere this year. The title, naturally, is “Hammertime.” Executive producer J.D. Roth said the show likely will play similar to an unscripted version of the Huxtable family from “The Cosby Show.” “Here’s a dad with five kids, married to the same woman for more than 23 years, living in the same place where he grew up and going to church every Sunday,” Roth said. “He’s had his ups and downs, and it’s what makes him such a character you root for.” Hammer had a spectacular rise and fall in the early 1990s, becoming a household name and selling millions of records before falling into debt and bankruptcy because of overspending on a lavish lifestyle. Hammer “now lives a more economically balanced life,” according to the show’s press materials, as a “new-age dad” in Oakland, Calif. This month, he appeared with Ed McMahon in a Cash4Gold Super Bowl ad. “MC Hammer is an iconic figure in American pop culture, but many people only know him for his music and fashion sense. Now A&E takes an unprecedented look behind his larger-than-life personality and into his life as a devoted husband, father and business entrepreneur,” said Robert Sharenow, senior vp alternative at A&E. Hammer has been offered reality shows before. Roth said he told the rap star he wanted to focus on his future rather than the past. “I really wanted to tell the future of MC Hammer,” Roth said. “What kind of dad is he?” Roth noted that having one of Hammer’s catchy early hits in the opening credits, however, would be welcome if the production can obtain the rights. Shooting on the series starts next week, with Roth, Hammer, Sharenow, Todd Nelson, Scott Lonker and Stephen Harris executive producing.

Sorry … they may be trying to go for The Cosby Show angle but it really sounds more like the Being Bobby Brown angle to me (well, sans the real star Whitney Houston) — a washed up former popstar who is trying to revive his career via reality TV? That’s Bobby Brown not Bill Cosby. But I digress … this new reality TV series sounds amazing. Tho, it should be noted that since MC Hammer frittered away all of his fortune after the end of his career, he has made a name for himself as a man of God. I understand he even had his own religious TV show on one of the Christian cable networks. So this new TV series isn’t even his first stab at a television career. IN FACT, some of you may recall that Hammer had his own Saturday morning cartoon called HammerMan back in his hey day. Justin Timberlake, singer-actor-designer, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the March issue of GQ magazine as the mag’s pick as the Most Stylish Man in America. Here is JT’s coverphoto and some info about GQ’s list of the Most Stylish Men in America:

Grammy-winning pop singer Justin Timberlake has topped GQ magazine’s list of the “10 most Stylish Men in America,” and gives his banker stepfather the credit for his dress sense. The men’s magazine praised Timberlake, 28, for his impact on fashion, his willingness to take risks and “knack for targeting trends” including hats, three-piece suits, skinny ties and beards. The timing of the award is good news for Timberlake. William Rast, the clothing line he and friend Trace Ayala launched in October 2006, is on the runway at this week’s New York Fashion show for its second outing. Timberlake said in the March issue of GQ that he got his sense of style from his stepfather, Paul Harless, a banker who laid out his suit for the next morning every night and went to work looking “like Richard Gere in (American) Gigolo.” As for his signature style of wearing a suit with sneakers, Timberlake said it was more a matter of practicality than design. “I just put sneakers on because I couldn’t dance in the shoes I had. I couldn’t leap with just insoles and dress shoes. I would’ve hurt myself,” said Timberlake, who rose to fame as a singer with the boy band ‘N Sync and went solo in 2002. Other honorees on the list of “Stylish Men” include music producer Mark Ronson, who took second place, and photographer Alex Lubomirski, who was third. They were joined by rappers Kanye West and T.I., actor Jason Schwartzman and hotelier Andre Balazs.

I would agree that Justin is stylish but I dunno that he’s the most stylish man in America. He always strikes me as a casual dresser who tends to love scarves … nothing too cutting edge about that. Mark Ronson, on the other hand, always looks sharp and put together. Even when he’s casual, he’s dressed up. That’s style. But, who am I to argue with the likes of GQ magazine? Angelina Jolie and her eldest daughters Zahara Marley and Shiloh Nouvel were spotted making their way around NYC yesterday afternoon lookin’ as faboo as possible (posh white coat, Queen Z). It appears that the ladies’ day out was more than just a fun day trip, Ange was also spotted checking out apartments in Manhattan, presumably for her and her expansive family to reside in while she works on her next film which is filming in the area. Here are a couple pics of Ange and her girls (clearly, Vivienne Marcheline had other places to be) on the town and a report on Angelina’s house hunting exploits:

Is Angelina Jolie looking for an apartment in NYC? A few weeks after signing the lease on a $60 million Long Island mansion, the actress, 33, was spotted checking out a nice building in Manhattan’s uptown Washington Heights neighborhood Tuesday afternoon. “The building had work permits and it seemed like they were probably being remodeled for [buyers'] taste,” a witness tells Us. Jolie — who donned a black trench coat, boots and sunglasses — spent about 25 minutes inside the building sans Brad Pitt or her six kids. “The building is pretty fancy,” the onlooker says. “It’s really nice.” Jolie, who is up for best actress at this Sunday’s Academy Awards, seemed to be in a good mood. “She was nice,” the witness tells Us. “She waved to the cameras, said, ‘hey guys.’” The Jolie-Pitts could be making NYC a permanent home — for awhile, at least, while Jolie films thriller Salt. “I’ve been dragging my kids from continent to continent,” Pitt recently said. “So we’re going to give them a break.” Us Weekly reported the family — who has owned or rented properties in three different countries in the past year alone — will spend about $100,000 per month for a Tudor-style, 22,000-square-foot manse about 50 miles outside the city.

Dang! If Brangelina have no problem shelling out $100k a month on renting a massive manse, you can believe that they are willing to drop some serious bank on a swanky NYC penthouse apartment. I know that there are very large apartments in NYC (that sell for a FORTUNE) but I’m having a hard time imagining a place big enough to house the entire Brangelina brood comfortably. But, if such a massive expanse exists in the high rises of NYC, I’m sure Brangelina will find it … and buy it up … and maybe a second one as well, just to have on hand as a back-up. It would be fabulous to have the Brangelina brood in NYC. I can’t wait to hear if they will actually be moving into town.

It would appear that the torrid extramarital love affair between Sienna Miller and her STILL-married paramour Balthazar Getty is still goin’ strong … at least, according to these new photos of the couple locked in a passionate embrace curbside at LAX Airport earlier this month. Here are a few photos of Sienazar proudly putting their fondness for groping one another on display:

It’s been quite a few weeks since the pair have been seen enjoying one another’s company in public together and, honestly, I had assumed that the romance had cooled in recent weeks. Clearly, I was wrong cuz, clearly, they appear very happy to still be goin’ at it. You gotta admit, these two really do seem to be perfect for one another … even tho Balthazar still has that pesky wife to worry about, he seems well-suited with Miss Sienna. Perfect match, don’t y’all think?

On Sunday night FOX aired the first X-Men Origins: Wolverine promo vid titled Outcasts and on Monday night they aired the second promo vid Brothers … last night, FOX aired the third and final 1-minute promo vid — this one titled Legends. In this third clip, all of the X-Men featured in the upcoming prequel get a little screentime … here are a few screencaps from this latest video:

Truth be told, this third clip is the least exciting for me. Altho we do get to see X-Men faves Gambit and Deadpool in action, there is less “story” in this video and more “slideshow”. The master musician who battled Tipper Gore and the PMRC on matters of censorship in music back in the early 90s with his ode to horniness Me So Horny, Luther Campbell of 2 Live Crew, was arrested in Florida this week for being in contempt of court … and consequently was arrested and thrown into the slammer. In case some of y’all forgot what Mr. Campbell looks like, here is his mugshot:

Where Luther Campbell just went, he probably doesn’t want to sing the song “Me So Horny.” Luther — a member of the 2 Live Crew — was just arrested in Miami-Dade County for contempt of court. Seems Luther didn’t pay $10,233.36 he owes the court — we’re not sure why he owes it, but now it’s time to pay the piper.

Honestly, I mention this news solely because I wanted an excuse to take things back a few years and post the video for 2 Live Crew’s biggest hit ever — Me So Horny. After the jump, check out the video in full …
