First Look: Robert Pattinson As Salvador Dalí In ‘Little Ashes’

A new clip
Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Robert Pattinson, who set teenage girl hearts aflutter as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie last Fall, will next be seen in the film Little Ashes as eccentric yet extremely talented surrealist painter Salvador Dalí … which may, most likely, set less of those girl hearts aflutter. In the film, Pattinson’s Dalí is engaged in a torrid romance with poet Federico García Lorca who is played by Javier Beltrán, which means there is likely to be significant man-on-man lurvin’ goin’ on in the film. Here is a screencap from the film of the two men in character posing for a photo together:

Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson dons a mustache – and a heavy accent – for his next role as Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dalí in Little Ashes. PEOPLE has an exclusive clip of the movie, which is set in 1922 and focuses on Dalí as a young man in love with the poet Federico García Lorca, played by Javier Beltrán. Check out Pattinson as the eccentric artist in a charged encounter with Lorca – and Dalí’s wife. Little Ashes opens in late March.

I am VERY curious to see R. Pattz’s portrayal of such a larger than life figure … Salvador Dalí was such a powerful artist with an equally powerful personality, I really hope that Pattinson is able to do the man justice. After the jump, check out a short 1-minute clip of Pattinson and Beltrán in Little Ashes

Hugh Jackman Escorts Daughter On Her First Day Of School

She's a big girl now
Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Hugh Jackman and his EXTREMELY lucky wife Deborra-Lee Furness escorted their youngest child, daughter Ava Eliot, on her first day of pre-school this week in NYC … here are a few pics of the happy Jackmans as they made their way out of school at the end of the day:

It would seem that all that playtime that Hugh and his daughter have been enjoying in NYC over the past few weeks are about to be curtailed now that Ava is going to school … which, I’m sure, is a real bummer for poor Hugh. You just know he loves playing at the park, or riding scooters or playing at the park (I mention it twice cuz you know that’s his favorite) on a daily basis and he’s gonna miss doing so now that Ava is otherwise scholastically occupied. Ah well. Mebbe Hugh and Deborra will make a new baby for him to play with now that his son and daughter are becoming school age. Blah. Deborra-Lee is just really, freakin’ lucky :)

‘Confessions’ Is Good For The Soul

The TV Guide
Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Last night, David and I had intended on seeing Friday the 13th and even pre-purchased our tickets to see the 8:25PM showing at the ArcLight in Sherman Oaks, CA (since the Hollywood location wasn’t showing it) but had to settle on seeing something else. I had miscalculated how long it would take to get from WeHo back to the Valley and we just made it to the theater on time … and then had to deal with a 25 minute parking ordeal :( We ended up seeing Confessions of a Shopaholic at 10 and grabbed a bite to eat in the meantime:

I never read the books that the movie is based on but I really did enjoy the flick. It’s kinda like Sex and the City meets Legally Blonde with a little bit of Devil Wears Prada thrown in. If you liked any of those movies, you’ll prolly dig Confessions. The clothes in the film are really fabulous … watching the movie made me want to go shopping much the same way that seeing Sex and the City did last summer. The only thing that creeped me out was the talking mannequins (see the film and you’ll know what I’m talking about). I’m pretty sure those scary things would even scare Jason Vorhees :)

Earlier today, David and I went back to my old apartment to turn in the keys (which are due tomorrow) and to sell my refrigerator to a guy I dealed with on Craig’s List. My fridge is practically brand new and the guy got a great deal. I said my final good-bye’s to my old building manager and that was that. David and I just returned from a fab lunch at Vitello’s in Studio City and voila!

We don’t have any big plans for tonight … our 3 year anniversary is next Tuesday so we’re saving our hoopla for then. Just a quiet dinner and … some alone time, I think :)

Fergie & Josh Duhamel Depart For A VD Getaway

The newlyweds on the move
Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Newlyweds Fergie Ferg and Josh Duhamel are on the move again as they have decided not to spend the Valentine’s Day weekend in SoCal and were spotted making their arrival at LAX Airport yesterday afternoon. My guess is that the couple decided to get the hell away from the cold here in SoCal (temps fell into the low 40s last night) and make their way to warmer climes:

As you may recall, Jergie Jerg jetted off to the Maldives and then the Caribbean to celebrate their honeymoon early last month … so I’m pretty sure they won’t be going back there anytime soon. For a quick trip like this, I bet the couple made their way South of the border to get their VD freak-on in Mexico. Blah. Wherever they go, I’m sure they’ll be enjoying the sex … which is a very good thing for Fergie, I’m not so sure that the deal is quite as nice for Josh but … there you have it. Here’s hoping the pair show up scantily dressed on a beach somewhere very soon … wouldn’t it be amazing if Josh were snapped wearing a little Speedo a la Paul Rudd?

Jessica Simpson & Tony Romo Celebrate VD In NYC

Still goin' strong
Saturday, February 14th, 2009

Jessica Simpson, who has been having a bit of a rough time in the media lately, hooked up with her current love interest, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, in NYC yesterday so that the pair could get a jump start on their Valentine’s Day celebrations … here are a few photos of the happily, still attached couple steppin’ out for a late afternoon lunch yesterday afternoon in the Big Apple:

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are more in love than ever – and are planning to spend a romantic Valentine’s Day a deux, a source tells PEOPLE. “They’re very much looking forward to spending Valentine’s Day together,” says the source close to Simpson. “[Tony] is the nicest guy. He adores her. They are so in love with each other.” Whatever their specific plans, the couple will be in Rochester, New York, for the romantic day where she is opening for Rascal Flatts. On Thursday night, Simpson strutted onstage in a sexy black mini-dress at Madison Square Garden and dedicated “You’re My Sunday” to her Dallas Cowboys quarterback beau, who was in the audience with some friends and Simpson’s parents. “There is something about being in love, right?” Simpson told the audience. “It just makes you appreciate everyday, right?… That’s kinda how I feel right now.” According to a source, Simpson waved at Romo before she started the song and he waved back. “He had the biggest grin,” says the source. “Then, Tony was singing along to the words.” After Simpson sang her tune “Angels,” Romo was equally enthusiastic. “He was like, ‘She nailed it! Awesome!’ ” says the source. During the show, Simpson, who is known for her self-deprecating humor, joked about previous wardrobe malfunctions she’s had at Madison Square Garden. “I’ve had times when my pants split right down the middle,” she told the audience. “That’s why I’m wearing a skort – not a skirt, not a short – just so they wouldn’t split.”

Heh. With a hottie boyfriend like Tony Romo, I bet it’s tough to let other, extraneous nonsense get you down … even still, I’m sure Jessica’s had a rough week to deal with and I bet she’s happy to be back with Tony and her family in NYC. I must admit, altho I really liked Tony when he was matched up with Carrie Underwood, I am pleased to see that things have been working out nicely for Jessimo. They seem well suited … and I wouldn’t at all be surprised if an engagement was forthcoming. Jessica is the marrying kind … it remains to be seen if Tony is as well.
