Soon you'll be able to get your hands on Duke, Hawk, The Baroness and more!
Who Wants To Play ‘G.I. Joes’ With Channing Tatum?

New G.I. Joe action figures, based on the upcoming live action flick G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, will be unveiled at the New York Toy Fair happening next week but here are a few preview photos to share with all y’all that show what the dolls action figures based on Sgt. Duke Hauser (Channing Tatum), Cobra operative The Baroness (Sienna Miller) and G.I. Joe leader General Hawk (Dennis Quaid) will look like:

He may be engaged, but ladies looking to get their hands on Channing Tatum can now take the hard-bodied hunk home with them. Tatum is one of five G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra stars to have a Hasbro action figure modeled in his likeness, alongside Sienna Miller and Dennis Quaid. Joining a long list of celeb action figures before them, Tatum’s “Duke,” Miller’s “The Baroness” and Quaid’s “General Hawk” will be revealed at Toy Fair from February 15-18 in New York.

Er, of these three toys — only Channing Tatum‘s Duke looks nothing like him (well, there is some resemblance but really the toy just looks like a meat head … oh wait). The Baroness and General Hawk look very much like Sienna Miller and Dennis Quaid. It’s unclear, from just these photos, how big the action figures are. I’m from the ’80s generation when the action figures were small and I hope that these new toys are the same size. I was never a fan of the larger, ’60s version of G.I. Joes which were bigger than Barbie size. Tho, I can see the appeal for some folks to want their Channing Tatum dolls to be as big as possible … for whatever reason :) In any event, all this G.I. Joe talk is really taking me back to my youth. I used to *love* playing G.I. Joes. Sigh. Good times. I really hope this new movie doesn’t ruin my fond childhood memories. What do ya’ll think … would any of you like to play with a Channing Tatum doll?

The next phase of NIN:Live is on the way
Nine Inch Nails Rehearse For New ‘09 Tour

Trent Reznor has been updating the official Nine Inch Nails website NIN.com for the past few days with new photos of various members of the current incarnation of NIN (including Robin Finck, Justin Meldal-Johnsen and new drummer Ilan Rubin) doing a bit of rehearsing in the studio for their new upcoming tour. As you may recall, TR informed us that the band would be touring this year as a pared down 4-piece and would be playing festivals and outdoor theaters in Europe, the Pacific Rim and North America thruout 2009 … by the looks of these new photos, Trent and boys have been hard at work on their new ’09 project(s?):

I am THRILLED that we have more Live NIN to look forward to this coming year. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of US tourdates … which might come as soon as the band packs up and begins playing shows overseas. Woot!

In other NIN news, the kids at ThisOnesOnUs.org have been hard at work putting together a live tour DVD for NIN‘s last major outing Lights In The Sky Over North America and are currently having fans vote for the artwork for the fanmade DVD, which has been titled Another Version of the Truth. I understand the final product will be completed and ready for dissemination to fans very soon. There is no word of any new NIN material to be released this year … but the new NIN.com photos do show Trent and his cohorts working on — something. It could be plans for the new tour or it could be something else entirely … I guess time will tell. I, for one, am just glad that NIN is still active right now … I’m really not looking forward to the band taking a break from touring and/or music for any stretch of time to come.

UPDATE: Pink reader Angie gives me the head’s up that Trent Reznor is on Twitter, click HERE for his profile :) Now we can follow him together :)

Celebrate Valentine's Day one week early
Les Beckhams Move Into A New Italian Villa

Now that David Beckham has publicly expressed his desire to stay in Milan, Italy (and abandon his current soccer team the LA Galaxy) to play for AC Milan, it was only a matter of time before Les Beckhams secured themselves a swanky new place for them to call home:

While I don’t think that this new villa will be the family’s main place of residence should Becks get released from the LA Galaxy to stay in Milan, it appears that these new digs will be ground central for the family when they need to be in Italy. If Becks does make the move back to Europe, I’m pretty sure the family will relocate back to their Beckingham Palace in the UK. And speaking of, Becks managed to spend sometime with his wife Vicki B. in the UK this past weekend for an early pre-Valentine’s Day celebration together:

David Beckham flew into London for 24 hours to give wife Victoria an early Valentine’s Day treat. The soccer star travelled from Milan to the UK on Saturday night (07.02.09) to spend one day with fashion designer Victoria. He booked a room at exclusive hotel Claridges and showered her with expensive flowers and chocolates. Earlier on Saturday night Victoria was spotted dining alone at Locanda Locatelli restaurant. A source said: “It was the only chance they had to meet up in their hectic schedules.” David, 33, then jetted off late on Sunday night (08.02.09) to meet up with the England soccer squad in Seville ahead of their friendly match against Spain on Wednesday (11.02.09). Being called up for the match ruined the couple’s original plan to spend the weekend together in Milan – where David is on loan from US team Los Angeles Galaxy to Italian club AC Milan. The source added: “Victoria is off to New York Fashion Week and David has his commitments with England and AC Milan.” The couple will be apart on Valentine’s Day this Saturday (14.02.09) because of their schedules. After Wednesday’s match, David will fly straight back to Milan to rejoin his club ahead of their important derby match against arch rivals Inter Milan on Sunday (15.02.09).

And so it begins … Becks‘ soccer career is already taking precedence over his wife again. You know, if he were just enjoying the LA Galaxy off season, he would be able to spend both Valentine’s Day and NY Fashion Week with his robotic wife … I’m just sayin’ ;) Meh … I’m sure they’ll make this new scenario work, whatever comes to pass. I’m just giving him grief cuz I don’t want Les Beckhams to leave LA. There has been NO official word on the status of Becks‘s defection to Milan. I suspect we’ll be hearing word one way or the other very soon.

Not even torrential downpour could spoil the party
The 2009 Elle Style Awards Are Handed Out

The Elle magazine Style Awards were handed out at Big Sky London in London, England last night where Freida Pinto of Slumdog Millionaire was awarded the prize for Best Actress, Mickey Rourke of The Wrestler took home the prize for Best Actor and — get this — Courtney Love was named Woman of the Year. Yep. For reals. Here are a few photos of some of the red carpet arrivals along with some info on the affair last night:

Another torrential downpour; another awards night. BAFTA stars and celebrities braved lashing rain, ankle-deep puddles and a bone-chilling wind for the Elle Style Awards at Big Sky Studios in North London last night. Minders with brollies and a canopy hastily erected outside the main door provided a brief respite as the girls in their gowns shook the raindrops from their hair. Freida Pinto, still elated after Slumdog Millionaire’s success the previous night, and recipient of Elle’s Best Actress award, wore a funky Chanel short dress with a transparent PVC yoke embellished with silk camellias. Alexa Chung, the host for the evening and winner of the Best TV Star, was also in Chanel, looking extremely sophisticated in a teal-blue, short, fitted backless dress, accessorised with a gigantic cocktail ring by Mawi, and a new upswept hairdo. “I don’t look too mumsy, do I,” she worried. No way, Alexa. Courtney Love, who was named Woman of the Year, entertained the camera crews with impersonations of Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Her ‘Cruella de Vil’ black fishtail gown, worn with a little shrug encrusted with jet and black sequins, was by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. Roisin Murphy also played the Givenchy card, teaming her mirror-beaded top with a pair of Armand Basi grey harem pants … Mickey Rourke arrived just in time to pick up his Best Actor award and gorgeous Sienna Miller, who received the Style Icon award, made a discreet entrance, which almost fooled the photographers. She’s looking forward to the catwalk debut of Twenty8Twelve, the label she jointly runs and designs with her sister, Savannah, a Central Saint Martins graduate, and which is one of the hottest tickets for the forthcoming London Fashion Week, starting on Friday February 19th. Also joining in the Best-Dressed fun were Rolf Snoeren and Viktor Horsting, recipients of the H&M Style Visionary trophy, who dazzled in black DJs with lapels encrusted with jewels, beads and crystals, Matthew Williamson and Christopher Kane who was named best British Designer.

The Elle Style Awards are usually pretty spot on with their prizes (tho I question the wisdom of honoring Mickey Rourke for his “style” choices) … but I have absolutely NO IDEA how Courtney Love qualifies as Woman of the Year. If I recall, she only graced the mag’s pages once in the past year … and really hasn’t done anything professionally in years. Even in a ceremonial sense, awarding C. Love a prestigious award like this doesn’t make a whole lotta sense. At least, Court bothered to make the trip to the UK to collect her prize. Here are a couple pics of Courtney stumbling making her way out of the Elle Style Awards afterparty at Groucho Club early this morning:

I suppose she looks a’ight … even after a night of partying. As crazy as she seems, I do have a soft spot for Courtney Love. Sure her blogs are usually nothing more than meaningless nonsense but I am a fan of her music. I hope she still plans to release that album she was supposed to release on Jan. 1 … there’s been no news on when we might expect it, if at all. I guess we’ll have to see. In any event, Congrats goes out to Courtney and all the other award winners last night.

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a pretty chill day … literally. With temps in the low 50s, SoCal has been “dealing” with the Winter weather … and I know that 50s sounds balmy to folks in much of the country right now but we, delicate flowers, in SoCal aren’t used to this kind of coldness. I do feel kinda lame that my Detroit, MI blood has thinned so much but … whattayagonnado? No big updates … David and I met up with Darion, Steph and Alek last night for a quick bite to eat at Century City and that was pretty much it. This afternoon, David and I are going back to the Valley, for the first time since my move over a week ago, vacuum my old apartment. The keys get turned in this coming Sunday … and the move will be totally complete. Yes, we still have some unpacking to do and yes David’s stuff STILL hasn’t arrived from NYC (we hear it’ll arrive this weekend) but our new home is really starting to feel like home. We haven’t unpacked our Snuggies yet but we’ll get there … if it remains this cold here in SoCal, I might be Snugging it this weekend ;)

Park life
Hugh Jackman & Fam Do Central Park

Here are a few really cute pics of hottie DILF Hugh Jackman hanging out with his family, including wife Deborra-Lee Furness, at a playground in Central Park in NYC this past weekend. It looks like Hugh was having just as much fun on the slide as his daughter Ava was … check it out:

Yes, yes … I know … Hugh‘s still fully clothing AND his wife was with him … but still, his hotness cannot be diminished. We’ve seen quite a few photos of Hugh in Daddy-mode hanging out with his kids but I, personally, do not get tired of seeing Hugh the hottie family man. Absent his sexiness and amazing fatherliness … he just looks like a really great guy to hang out with. He likes to play, you know he’s got a great sense of humor and … those pecs! Yeah, I bet he is a real hoot to hang out with. His family is very lucky … they all always look so happy together. This is a side of celebrity that I really love to see.

Who needs clothing?
Eliza Dushku Does ‘Maxim’ Magazine

Buffyverse star Eliza Dushku is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of the March issue of Maxim magazine just in time for the premiere of her new Joss Whedon-created FOX TV series Dollhouse. As you can plainly see from this coverphoto, Eliza doesn’t need clothing to try and get you to take notice of her talents … behold:

She is a very pretty girl … and I understand a fave of Maxim magazine (she’s been featured in the mag more than once or twice). While I realize this sort of promotion isn’t necessarily geared toward someone like me, I can deffo see its appeal for others. After the jump, check out a couple other photos of Eliza from this new issue of Maxim mag — yes, she’s still only wearing her undies …

A new 'Day' has dawned
First Look: Green Day, ‘21st Century Breakdown’

Yesterday we learned that Green Day have announced the name of their new album, 21st Century Breakdown, and today they reveal the official artwork for the disc … check it out:

Green Day have revealed the cover art for the new album today (February 10), just a day after they named the record. The stenciled artwork, pictured, was apparently inspired by artist Sixten, with art direction credited to Chris Bilheimer.

No other information about artwork is provided … but you can click HERE to see examples of Sixten‘s work at his official website to compare this album art with the apparent source of inspiration. I am not at all familiar with Sixten‘s work but there is a simplicity in his pieces that looks very much like something Green Day would be interested in co-opting. It’s been about 5 years since Green Day released their last album, American Idiot. They were able to use dissatisfaction with the GWB administration to win all sorts of awards and accolades (they had a really great year at the Grammy Awards, I seem to recall). I’m curious to hear what their new stuff sounds like. I’m also curious to know if anyone still cares about them. Will their brand of mature power-punk-pop still resonate today? I’m not too sure.

Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill
‘Friday The 13th’ Premieres

Jared Padalecki, Derek Mears, Michael Bay and others were on hand for the LA screening premiere of the new Friday the 13th remake film which was held at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA last night. As you may be aware, Friday the 13th will open in theaters this Friday, the 13th, and promises to bring new life to the classic horror flick. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals last night:

I understand that this new version of the film will amp up the terror to make it more palatable to today’s audience. In the classic Friday the 13th films (all ten of them), Jason Voorhees was a lumbering hulk that quietly stalked his prey before he inflicted horrible and sometimes ironic death upon his victims. In the new version, I hear, Jason is a bad ass that runs at normal speeds and then brutally inflicts even gorier death upon his victims. You gotta love an upgrade. I am a huge fan of the original film (and Part 2 … I kinda lost interest after that … tho Jason Takes Manhattan was kinda LOL-worthy) so I hope this new version does the original justice. I’m encouraged that Michael Bay, who produced the exceptional Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, worked on this film … he knows how to bring the gore and update it to modern standards. I can’t wait to see this flick this weekend … what a great way to spend Valentine’s Day — cuddled up into the nook of a loved one’s chest at a horror film :) Are any of ya’ll interested in seeing this flick/planning on seeing it this weekend?
