We Kinda Partied Like It’s 2009
OY! The last remaning hours of 2008 and the first of 2009 kinda wrecked me for the day … while all the festivities sounded like a great idea last night, today … notsomuch. But we did it! We made it to 2009:

Since David and I couldn’t be in Reykjavik, Iceland for New Year’s Eve we did our best to make up for it. We started out the night at David’s sister Eden’s place here in the West Village for a bit of boardgame fun before we trekked our cookies out to Brooklyn to attend a New Year’s Eve party hosted by my good friend Brad Walsh and his boo Christian Siriano. Because I was in full Polaroid mode last night, I wasn’t able to snap too many digital pics but here are some photos that I managed to take:

After ringing in 2009 with Brad, Christian, Karen, Gurj, Ollie, Mark, Josh, Kathy, some former Project Runway contestants, a bunch of fabulous people and quite possibly the cutest puppy ever, David and I SOMEHOW found a cab to whisk us back to the city to round out the night with David’s sisters again … where we partied away until about 5AM before stumbling home.
As much as I’d love to be on the computer for hours today, I think I’m gonna have to recuperate before I can be of any use to anyone. Happy New Year, y’all! Let’s make 2009 the Best Year Ever … but starting tomorrow cuz right now, well, I’ll need to die for a little bit ;)

the reason why it looks like she’s a ghost because she had to move pretty significantly while the picture was being taken.

My friend realized that this New Year’s was the last of the 2000 glasses like in the first picture (well, until year 3000…). Sad! But happy 2009 all the same! Thanks, Trent, for always entertaining and informing me!

That’s so awesome you got to ring in the new year with some proj runway people!

Anne, we were talking about the 2009 glasses last night too. We said they could still do them for 2010 if they put the 1 as the nosepiece and then maybe some star or exclamation point after the second zero. Not as neat and balanced, but the franchise can still live on….
