The View From The Top Of The World

Yesterday was another glorious weekend day here in SoCal … bright, sunny and warm. I could really get used to Summer in January. On Saturday night, Steph, Alek and I decided to spend the afternoon at Griffith Observatory atop Griffith Park so that we could enjoy the beautiful sunshine from the best vantage point in the city. It was truly a very fun afternoon … here are a few photos that Steph and Alek shot yesterday:

I snapped my fair share of photos but did so with my Polaroid instant camera. The day was just perfect — great weather, not too crowded. Steph and Alek had never seen a show inside the planetarium so I convinced them to see Centered in the Universe. They were just as blown away as I was the first time I was able to see the show. I was able to meet Pink readers Sarah and Cari at the observatory yesterday … the lasses from England were there to enjoy the day as well (Sarah lives here now but Carrie is heading back to England this week … I sincerely hope she is able to come back soon).

After our day on top of the world, we came back down to Earth and relaxed by S&A’s rooftop pool to watch the sunset … it was really a very fun day. We ended the night with dinner at Ulysses Voyage at the Grove and that was that.

Tonight, a bunch of us are going out to see Candis Cayne’s performance at The Abbey — she’ll be doing a Bush’s Last Night in the White House Show — can’t wait!!

That sounds like so much fun. I’ve always wanted to go to the Griffith Observatory. It sounds really neat, plus that’s where a scene from “Rebel Without a Cause” with James Dean took place. I love him. ^_^
