Trent, are you still buying film now? I know they ceased production but are there still stores that are selling them? I have an old Polaroid and I always wanted to use it but I never got around to buying film- now I hear they’re not making them anymore and im so mad!! :(

Hey, that was one of my 1st cameras, & I liked how it gave “instant” pictures… But for some reason they always seemed out of focus or over/under exposed. Then there were the cartridges that were bulky & big.

Suffice it to say, I quickly grew frustrated & stopped taking pictures. On my next birthday (4 months later), one of my presents was a Kodak Instamatic camera – Really basic (no fancy lenses like my dad’s 35mm. But after I used it for awhile & got the rolls developed… For such a simple camera, the shots I got were amazing!

I hung on to that camera for years until it literally wore out & became obsolete. I miss it but have those picture I took with it. 13 years old, 1st ever trip outside of Canada, taking shots out the airplane window to catch birds in flight below us & tiny squares of land, mountains, etc.. Driving from Austria to Italy & taking pictures of gondolas so high in the air they were tiny dots suspended in mid-air (but can still be identified with a magnifying glass)… Finally, in Venice I took close-up shots of pigeons sitting on my hand & on my head!

I had a Polaroid camera just like that! My parents gave it to me when I graduated high school in 1977. It’s long gone. Along with my Kodak flip-flash.

funny, i was emptying my old houses’s basement, and i found my father’s polaroid camera circa 1980-ish, I think. It was pretty cool to find :)
