Ricky Martin Takes His Sons Out For A Chilly Stroll
When last we saw new papa Ricky Martin he was posing on the cover of People En Español magazine introducing his twin sons Matteo and Valentino to the world. Since then, father and sons have been keeping a relatively low profile out of the public eye. At last, the Martin men have surfaced in NYC where they were spied enjoying a brisk winter stroll in Central Park last week:

Despite the frigid temps, Ricky thought it would be nice to bundle up his boys and pack them into a baby stroller to push them around in the cold NYC weather … tho, I’m not sure why. In any event, it appears that Ricky is happily enjoying his new role as single dad. I seem to recall that Ricky was seriously dating some chick a couple of years ago but we don’t hear very much about any love interest in his life these days. I wonder whatever happened to that chick? Since Ricky’s sons were born via gestational surrogacy, I assume the woman who bore the children is not at all involved with Ricky or the twins at all. HMMM. Clearly, Ricky heeded the call of his biological clock and decided to take on fatherhood all on his own. I wonder if he will ever find true, honest love. As wonderful as being a parent is, I’m sure, I hope he is able to be honest with himself and find that special someone to share his life and his new family with.

Trent, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being and remaining a single parent. I have been a single mom since day 1 and I don’t think that will ever change. My daughter is almost 7 now and sure I have dated but never found someone who is right for the both of us.

Good for him, I think it’s great.
Tho I wish he’d admit his homosexuality already. :)

I don’t think Trent is saying there’s anything wrong with being a single parent…I think it was a subtle hint that the man needs to come out of the closet already

LOL!! I wasn’t expecting to see the hat on dear ricky!
Too funny!

Brenda I think you are right about the hint but some people don’t want their personal lives splashed all over the newspapers and speculated on and torn to shreds. I think it is ok that you conduct your personal life how ever you feel fit. Ricky Martin I think has been out of the public eye for a while now so has no one to answer to but himself! I actually worked at a hotel many years ago where he stayed at and was told that it was a well known fact that he is gay but that is his business as far as I am concerned..

Everyone should be allowed privacy, BUT his boys should know the truth about their Dad as they get older. It’s not fair to them; as far as fans and the press, they/we don’t need to know–though it would be a huge plus if he did come out. He is 37. It’s about time–if Clay can do it, I think Ricky can do it. Didn’t Ann Coulter (UGH) recently say single parents are ruining America? I thought I heard that. She’s so lame. I have never seen Ricky on a red carpet with a woman.

LOLOL is it just me or don’tcha think that Ricky prob has a hat just like that one at home in his closet?? : )
I wish he’d just be out in the open like Clay Aiken but it’s true, it’s his choice how he chooses to live his life and is no one’s business but his own.

LMAO trent you and that hat. At first I thought Ricky was really wearing it LOL.
January 27th, 2009 at 12:37 pm
And Avi he probably will tell his sons but he isn’t answerable to anyone except himself as long as he isn’t doing anything illegal. Clay made a choice and Ricky has his own choice to make. Whether he comes out or not neither makes him a bad person. That’s the beauty of America you have a choice!

Stop with the use of the hat already! That’s so last week!

“I wonder if he will ever find true, honest love.” Nice way to put it.

OK…. LOVE the hat…& LOVE Ricky Martin!

Everyone is allowed privacy, but when you put you and your babies on the cover of a magazine and publish pictures, it’s not exactly keeping private. He’s probably getting more press from people speculating about his sexuality, than if he just dropped the whole charade.

The hat makes my day! I love it!

I just love that you keep putting that hat on everyone. haha its SEXY! lol

I’m sorry but I have a huge problem with surrogacy. I understand if you are not blessed with the ability to have children. I cannot imagine how heartbreaking that must be to someone who really wants a child. BUT- do you know how many lonely orphaned children there? They need to be adopted and loved and show what a family is too. Nevermind how do you explain to your child that they cannot know who their biological mother/father is. That has to create some issues. Does anyone agree/disagree?

The Hat…………….LMAO

The bio mother could very well be in their lives (as a 50/50 parent). We don’t know what is going on behind the scenes and I don’t think we should make assumptions about their arrangement.

Okay, General Hospital and La Vida Loca aside, I really respect Ricky Martin’s attitude towards his personal life and the press. I enjoy the fact that he’s protected his right to love whomever he wants without have to divulge the gender of the individual to the world. Good on him.
January 28th, 2009 at 6:08 pm
I agree with JJ, just because he’s not discusing his private life in a magazine doesn’t mean he will hide things from his kids in the future.
K – I don’t understand, you have a problem with surrogacy but you think it’s OK to adopt? I just don’t see how one can be more problematic than the other. Adopted kids might not be able to know their biological mother/father either. I think what matters in the end is that the kids are raised by people who loves them.
