Rebecca Romijn Gives Birth To Twin Girls
Huzzah! People magazine is reporting that Rebecca Romijn and hubby Jerry O’Connell are the proud parents of a pair of newborn twin baby girls who were born on December 28. According to Rebecca’s rep, the girls are happy and healthy and have been named Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip:

Rebecca Romijn and husband Jerry O’Connell have welcomed healthy twin girls, PEOPLE has confirmed. Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip were born Dec. 28. “Mother, father and both girls are all home and doing well,” Romijn’s rep Lewis Kay told PEOPLE. They are the first children for the Ugly Betty actress, 36, and actor O’Connell, 34, who married at their Calabasas, Calif., ranch in 2007. The new mom, whose pregnancy cravings included lemonade and soy cream cheese, is planning a long maternity leave. “I’m taking quite a bit of time off,” Romijn told PEOPLE in November. “I really want this to be my job for at least the next six months” … “Jerry and I want to be very hands-on,” Romijn told PEOPLE. “My mom’s coming to help us as much as we need. But this is something we’re really looking forward to. I’m really excited to see what happens next and to visit a completely different chapter in my life.”
Aww … much congrats to the happy family! Tho, I’m not sure I’d be too pleased if my folks named me Tulip … even if it was my third name. But, omg, Dolly Rose! How cute is that?! Yeah, I guess we know which daughter will be more favored by her parents ;) All kidding aside, much love and congrats goes out to the Romijn-O’Connell family. Best of luck with a long and happy life with those little girls :)

those girls have a 50/50 chance of becoming the most beautiful women in the world, or taking after their father (like Rumer Wilis)…good luck!

@lambman – you think so? i think jerry is cute, much cuter than bruce willis who doomed his children to a life of unfortunateness

aww. I thought about having a baby…and then I got a puppy. Desire over!

I think Tulip is mild compared to some other names that celebs give their poor kids.

My real name is Haywood Jablome…. how do you think I feel?

I don’t understand the three names thing, it seems to be a trend lately. . can you imagine being in first grade and having to write Dolly Rebecca Rose Romijn-O’Connell at the top of your paper? Thats worse then the teasing they’ll prob get on the playground.

Roxter – no joke i had a roommate with a double name engaged to a guy with a double name, they weren’t sure what to do! I think it promotes equality and furthers the distance from the time when marraige was a property exchange thought

the current “trend” with many celebs having twins lately is probably because of fertility treatments.

I think those are the worst names Ive ever heard….
January 5th, 2009 at 1:15 pm
Tulip? yuck!
Personally i think 3 names is just too much.

@Roxster-Very good point. Imagine a teacher reading the attendance list…he/she would run out of breath just saying their names!
Dolly? Seriously? What a horrible name for a person at any age. And I don’t like Charlie either, because it’s a boy’s name IMHO, not unisex.

What’s up with the horrible names?! Dolly makes me think of a cow for some reason and Charlie is just…..not good.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:31 pm
Or maybe they’ll call the girls by their middle names (Rebecca and Tamara)? Hope so. Dolly isn’t too bad and Charlie is forgiveable if the real name is Charlotte I suppose.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
Yeah, I’m not so crazy about those names….but seriously, after hearing the name Zuma Nesta Rock no crazy celebrity name sounds quite so horrible anymore. And I agree, Jerry O’Connell is quite attractive. Those are going to be two gorgeous girls.

Terrible names. These stars either go overboard on the goofy made up names that the poor kid will be saddled with forever or they choose ridiculous names like Dolly (hello, Parton springs to mind) or Charlie which I hate for a girl’s name.
January 5th, 2009 at 8:19 pm
The cluster of twins in the celebrity world is statistically impossible and proves they are having fertility treatments such as IVF (though irresponsibly, no celebs will admit to it).

Naming a girl charlie is that thing people do when they want to sound cool and PC, like “we’re cool, we’re totally not into the pretentious names, we’re giving our daughter a dude’s name so she can believe she can do anything” which could maybe work, but it could be hard for her too since she practically has the exact same name as her male uncle. I mean Drew Barrymore is really named Andrew and you see she does not go by that publicly. Names like Cameron are given to so many girls now it’s been unisexed. I can’t imagine a girl being named David, Bruce , Bill, Robert or Hank, that is almost bad as the celeb names. My 2009 Prediction, next new celeb baby name “Poindexter Curfeew” watch out for that ish.”

Zuma rules! That is a great name. Nesta was Bob Marley’s middle name. You know Gwen just likes to show her rasta side! Dolly and Charlie are fine names. Tulip however…is a little unnecessary. that is just awful mean.

As you might know she has got some dutch blood running trough her veins. Tulip, eventhough it is a flower that is originally from Turkey, is seen as a dutch flower and Tamara is a real dutch name that you hear a lot over here. I guess she just wanted a dutch influence?
(sorry for my bad english, I am dutch).

Hmm isn’t Charlie the name of Jerry’s brother?
January 14th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
as long as they are well looked after and loved that is all that matters.
